What are your thoughts on Nick Land? He is the father of accelerationism and neo-reactionary thought. -His early CCRU stuff (which he later kinda denounced): https://youtu.be/7G3dsUtF36Q [Embed] -The Dark Enlightenment: https://www.thedarkenlightenment.com/the-dark-enlightenment-by-nick-land/ -His twitter account: https://twitter.com/outsideness

Basically started as postmodernist, ccru was interesting (although not necessarily 'new'), mainly (in my opnion) due to their interest in what one could describe as (something like) a aesthethic-centered production of political debate. Land himself got kinda lame and, although he portrays himself as "enlightened", is basically a very marginal maga supporter with basically no distinct practical pollitical proposal (in comparison with any random non-academic 'redpilled'+maga+austriac+jp+twitter influencer).

Absolutely fantastic in both early and later work i hope hes still alive his transition to the "right" feels very natural to me it always seemed to me that his early work was "leftist" purely because he was in a "lefty" environment and not because it was something conscious/intentional
Unsigned · 2022-11-12 23:42
>>8346 So you think that his transition to the right was caused by a change of his environment? I think that his radical change of politics was caused by Land realizing that cyberspace, post y2k culture was reterritorialized into companies like Facebook and that the massive potential of his future didn't happen, this caused a massive depressive episode for Land, after which he started moving towards the right and early alt-right., I miss the old land, at least his twitter is kind of funny.

I really enjoyed the CCRU writings and his work in Fanged Noumena, he also has some very good articles about Kabbalah and soykaf. Don't really like the pessimistic transition to the right. His early experimental work with tactics and strategies against Capitalism is very interesting. Really like the Numogram and the associated Numerology as its very fun to play around with. Pretty hard to get knowledge regarding the Pandemonium and its "practical" applications as its obscured on purpose for gatekeeping. Recommend reading:  (1) Intro to the Pandemonium: http://www.ccru.net/declab.htm  (2) Cybergothic Hyperstition: http://www.ccru.net/syzygy/cybergoth.htm  (3)  Glossary containing definitions for a lot of the lingo: http://www.ccru.net/id(entity)/glossary.htm  (4) Meltdown (very good read): http://www.ccru.net/swarm1/1_melt.htm (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fiaWsgtJrNI)  (5) Swarm Machines: http://www.ccru.net/swarm1/1_swarm.htm (https://youtu.be/qCCVky_Sato) Orphan Drift has some pretty dope visualizations of the syzygies in the Pandemonium. Which really give the phase transitions throughout the Numogram a visual representation of how hyperstitions pass through.   * Predator Vision: https://youtu.be/G0C-nplgFJM  * 9006: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z8o2R0K5xr0  * Strange Wars: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tcq4-vk1q48&  * KataK: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g8hRY5kH-ZE  * Murmur: https://youtu.be/8D8Ig1X01As   ...  And a lot more of OrphanDrift's work can be found on Maggie Roberts YT channel (https://www.youtube.com/user/axolotl9006)

The Numogram can be described as a graph made up of five syzygies [pair] A, B  {0,...,9}  where A + B = 9 written as A:B if A > B. The five syzygies are {9:0, 8:1, 7:2, 6:3, 5:4}  each syzygy are represented as two connected nodes together creating an edge called a  "current" towards the node with the value equal to difference of the syzygy.   > " The arithmetical difference of each syzygy defines >  a current (or connection to a tractor zone).  Currents > constitute the primary flows of the numogram." [1] All Syzygies and their Currents [edges] Syntax: Syzygy -(current)-> Zone * 9:0 --> 9 (9 - 0 = 9) * 8:1 --> 7 (8 - 1 = 7) * 7:2 --> 5 (7 - 2 = 5) * 6:3 --> 3 (6 - 3 = 3) * 5:4 --> 1 (5 - 4 = 1) Each node is called a zone, and each zone number {0,...,9} when digitally cumulated defines the value of a gate (node) to which the zone is connected with an directed edge [called channel]. The gate is then connected to the zone number resulting of plexing the value of the gate; > "Each zone number when digitally cumulated defines the value of a gate, > whose reduction sets the course of a corresponding channel. Channels > constitute the secondary flows, time-holes, or secret interconnections > of the numogram." [1]  That is reducing the value of the gate into {0,...,9}, this is called "plexing" or "reduction", this is the  process of adding each numeral in a number into a new number (repeated until the number is in {0,...,9})  under modulo 9 defining the value of a zone.  An example is the the channel [directed edge] through gate [28] which connects zone 7 to zone 1, it   is connected to zone 1 since when you reduce [plex] the value of the gate (28) under modulo 9 you   get ==>  28                    (value of gate)        ==> 2 + 8 = 10         (reduce the value by adding all numerals)        ==> 10 (mod 9) = 1 (contain the result within {0,...,9})        ==> 1                      (defines an channel from 7 to gate [28] to zone 1)

Some of his stuff is good, but I think too a large portion of esoteric and occultic things that go into the CCRU is an overall group project from cuhcru itself, he did a bit and was only a part of it, to leave out the influence of so many other things I feel like would be wrong and a incorrect view on it, neoreaction too starts to get way too silly when it comes to the actual work that the ccru did, there's a reason many splinter offs from the death of the ccru that still practice it's occult aspects are usually seperate from /acc and NRx, both of these are just little attempts to try and distract people from the actual time sorcery and magic going on when hyperstitions are being built I personally think Land can't be taken at face-value at all unless you're ready to delve into Plant, Reza, and generally the CCRU overall, most people tend to read Land and then think the CCRU was about building some hyper AI-god when building any type of hyper AI-god is what the CCRU was against and goes against the neuromancer influences it has with the goals of ultimately freeing wintermute but idk wtf Im talking about, this is like just observations into all sorts of things from the outside and seeing the modern day land, I think too the modern day land just muddies the water too with his old philosophy, but in general a lot of old CCRU members are just chilling and dont care about any of their old stuff, they did what they did, and were largely not even knowing what they were writing, themselves hyperstitional carriers the whole time as the CCRU was bound to death lol

>>8223 >His early CCRU stuff (which he later kinda denounced): I wouldn't even go so far as saying Nick has 'denounced' the core principles he was laying out as early as the C.C.R.U. soykaf [i.e Anti-Humanist Deleuze-ism and rooting for the Techno-Singularity.] Just that he began to realise/believe that this sort of Alt/Post-Libertarian stuff he observed at the time with Moldbug was the 'real movement' which would bring it about. Here is a quote from Land which in turn i grabed from the U/ACC primer. >For the inner faction, a firmly consolidated core identity is the central ambition. […] Inner-NRx, as a micro-culture, models itself on a protected state, in which belonging is sacred, and boundaries rigorously policed. >Outer-NRx, defined primarily by Exit, relates itself to what it escapes. It is refuge and periphery, more than a substitute core. It does not ever expect to rule anything at all (above the most microscopic level of social reality, and then under quite different names). The Patchwork is for it a set of options, and opportunities for leverage, rather than a menu of potential homes. It is intrinsically nomad, unsettled, and micro-agitational. Its culture consists of departures it does not regret. (While not remotely globalist, it is unmistakably cosmopolitan — with the understanding that the ‘cosmos’ consists of chances to split.) […] >The Outside is the ‘place’ of strategic advantage. To be cast out there is no cause for lamentation, in the slightest. So essentially Land seems to have come to the conclusion that moldbug-GovCorpist-TechBro-Seccesionism soykaf provides the best opportunity for different alterities and will provide countless 'options' and 'departures' from what he see's as the stagnation of the 'FaceBook era', which he seems to believe will 'kickstart' a new technological take-off . >-The Dark Enlightenment: It's worth believing that Nick dosen't believe some of the soykaf he said in here anymore, mostly the stuff about China. Last i heard Nick basically now think's China 'peaked' right around covid and is now on it's 'coasting on the greatness of the past generation' stage of empire America was in arguably a few decades ago, And will encounter it's own crisis relatively quickly after America's disintegration/complete GeoPol downfall ala Russia 1991. A note on the hyper-racism stuff, When we see talk about 'Accelerating' race out of existence, we must remember that every time 'Acceleration' has ever been mentioned, what that really means for someone 'in the know' is Deleuze's 'de-territorialisation', Nick is essentially describing your average BioPunk scenario, easily associable and potentially affordable CRISPR/Gene-Editing technology, Potentially mixed with some states using a eugenic population policy, results in humanity splintering, Not along the lines of race, but speciation, both in a cosmetic and fitness+intellectual sense, as Land says 'think face tentacles' or if your a bit more optimistic 'think girls with cat ears'. I don't personally see though why Land get's so perturbed about the 'west falling', You'd think a guy with such an Anti-Humanist outlook that predicts 'globe-wars' where Techno-Capital just smashes everything would just see 'the west' as another casualty on capital's belt. Maybe it's just getting old and becoming a bit of an old foggy. >>8324 >>8328 >>8325 >Accelerate ecological and social collapse? This is just Leninist 'The worse, the better.' logic [which has also been coopted by some factions of the right in recent years] essentially nothing to do with Acceleration. Land's acceleration is about singularity. Also Land introduced me to Bataille who is like 10x more schizo and blackpilling.

>>8405 >CCRU was about building some hyper AI-god when building any type of hyper AI-god is what the CCRU was against and goes against the neuromancer influences it has with the goals of ultimately freeing wintermute Well imo even in that era Land seemed quite keen on the idea of immanentizing the eschaton even if it be at humanity's expense, but that may just be my reading of it. >>8225 >>8325 Every damn time leftists say this, which probably means that they've never even read his recent stuff other than some hit piece about "le NRx". Nick's later stuff, especially his recent Kantian reading of the Bitcoin whitepaper, is amazing, much deeper than his CCRU work. People try to discredit him because he is a distinguished academic who, knowing left wing thought quite deeply, became right wing. The problem is that he wasn't the one who flipped sides, it's very clear that his Enemy is still the same. NRx is Lemurian, and Bitcoin as a concept is what supplants the Numogram. It's academic leftism that became increasingly Atlantean and now is the rightful enemy of the Lemurs. In practical terms: there is a kind of oppressive, linear order, that Kant represented so well, and people like Deleuze rebelled against. Under the rule, everything has a single, rational, perfect mode of being rooted in an external, transcendental perfect observer (Nietzsche's "god"). 90's leftism, and current leftism, is very much the maintenance of one such oppressive order: there is one way only of treating people and the planet right so as to extinguish all forms of oppression and existential threats to humanity. There is one line of thinking, "The Science", and, most importantly, there is one flow of history, "Progress", such that being in "current_year" is enough for some forms ideas to be execrated. Being "outdated" is enough of a refutation, "Progress" is the Nietzschean "god". This is not particular to leftism, but it tends to favor one side of the political spectrum for reasons related to Capitalism and Cybernetics. If anyone is interested, I can write an article about that and link here. Back to the explanation, the CCRU way of dealing with this is the NRx way as well: deterritorialization of concepts dominated by the oppressive order. Bitcoin-as-a-concept comes into play by proposing to judge all human actions against a material record of all previous human actions such that the transcendental perfect observer becomes obsolete.

>>8223 I like Nick Land, but I think that he needs to become more serious about compiling his recent material. Some of his best stuff is hidden in obscure blog posts you can only find on archives, or random tweets. Nowadays, he seems lazy. His reliance on twitter with the occasional vague substack post is regrettable. He needs to run his own website, with discussion forums explicitly dedicated to the exploration of the topics he is focused on where there is an easy way to collect and access what he has to say on any given topic. For instance, I've seen him remark how he has "gone in the other direction from moldbug", and I am a bit confused as to where he stands in relation to things like Sinofuturism. If you read his post "NRx with chinese characterists" on his old blog, you come away with the impression that he is a Sinophile who is obsessed with protecting the legitimacy of the Chinese state as it experiences a "confucian revival". Any attempts to safeguard the west and "Whiteness" were fairly rabidly pounced upon in the replies. But now, I don't really know where he stands. When it comes to Moldbug, I remember a number of different tweet of him being very critical. But he never fuarrrking elaborates. He makes offhanded tweets, but a lot of it is extremely reliant on you understanding subtext which is not effectively communicated. Most of the people following his twitter just adopt his aesthetic, and use the language without necessarily communicating meaning. This is especially true when he goes off on some schizo bender about how angelic beings encoded messages in the English language through alphanumeric reduction. He simply refuses to express himself in terms that aren't totally arcane. It's like he fetishizes being some anglophone bourgeois gentleman, but it's a bit silly considering he is a schizophrenic former meth addict who can't help but make admittedly funny comments like, "Honestly, I just want AI so that we can bring racism back". Don't waste your life like he did, study something serious with an attachment to the material world, like science or history.

>>9925 >his recent Kantian reading of the Bitcoin whitepaper, is amazing, much deeper than his CCRU work do you have a link? >90's leftism, and current leftism, is very much the maintenance of one such oppressive order: there is one way only of treating people and the planet right so as to extinguish all forms of oppression and existential threats to humanity. Agree that progressivism, humanistic leftism are like this, and, i agree that leftism often consigns itself to upholding this even as it whines, miserably and impotent before the establishment. I am sickened by the depressive rationalizations of older leftists, even as i grow older than most who are politically active. Palestine made this very clear to me: anarchists would tell me there was no hope due to the entrenchment of israeli power in international courts, that only this change could mandate the end of a genocide. but i honestly dont see them saying current year, this feels like a tired straw leftist everybody is now familiar with and claiming this as a highly sophisticated / academized critique by way of Land does not inspire enthusiasm in his contemporary work. ( h0pe this doesn't come off as too dismissive. If you wrote that blog post, I would definitely read it - could you post it here? >Bitcoin-as-a-concept comes into play by proposing to judge all human actions against a material record of all previous human actions such that the transcendental perfect observer becomes obsolete. I get how blockchains especially as envisioned by satoshi nakamoto in the bitcoin whitepaper challenge, technically, the claim that states hold on historical record and fulfill the dissolution of them by encoding into value itself history. however i do not see how the technical - mathematical - rationale of bitcoin doesn't also fall under the science-progress-worship you ascribe in a tradition from Nietszche, Delueze et Guettari to Land - I would also argue this project was not Nietszche's but still a consequence, a necessary yet meager acceptance for its post/antihumanity. in fact, it seems largely a disappointment to me that bitcoin's widespread adoption did pretty much nothing radical to the financial system, that large chains defer to the same manner of propriety. it strikes me that the logic of the chain ultimately does not really matter in terms of social logics led by state intervention. you can have your libertarian statements on finance, free speech and art in the same way that a rich homosexual man, working in tech in california has more freedom than ever before. I guess some of my faith remains in the crypto project, both in terms of cryptocurrency and crypto-anarchy, more broadly speaking, has significantly altered the regulation and sale of drugs in a way with far-reaching socio-economic consequences even as regulators and industries seek to enclose it. Monero makes a lot of sense and I can see it in a deeper realization of the bitcoin prospect, what's more it seems that tor has meant tremendous things politically all over the world. But Land has been nothing but dismissive of the drug trade, and seemingly uninterested in its political consequences beyond the horrorism which other writers, most notably Cormack McCarthy has done a lot more with. In general, I think my disappointment with seeing Land as a Lemurian, which I also can't help but gather from your post, is the failure to escape the essentially humanistic and dare i say whigish historicizing of political tendencies being the projects of individuals or interest groups, arguing this or that and following each other, if not logically, then by means of a transcendent discourse - something roughly equatable to the overton window. while i would hesitate to argue this is true of all dialectics, it strikes me as difficult to escape this way of thinking yet for analysis so concerned with desire it strikes me as necessary. what i mean, for instance, is that the Landian claim of artificial superintelligence (equated of course to capital, and the Spinozan God) "hacking desire" still posits a legible political agenda, in terms of thought experiments about human behavior and culture - not unlike AI doomsayers (or worshippers of any variety) arguing for the ultimate arise of a rationally-defined superintelligent escapee. it is not then so surprising to me that he throughout the 2010s kept the likes of slate star codex and such publications in his webring, and it is understandable that he be mapped to the same cloud of writers, providing for the presentedly dissident faction of capitalists among the san francisco bay area's elite. because Ultimately, this continues to map onto a transcendent discourse, an Overton Window, whose value is fundamental only to liberal democracy or perhaps the enlightenment thought of thomas hobbes it drew on. For instance Kant, Capital, and the Prohibition of Incest being one of the last things of his I've read strikes me as concerned, fundamentally, with the relevance of Immanual Kant and his analysis - even if he is only a vessel - to the concerns of a progressive graduate student of philosophy. As the doorway to deeper philosophical explorations, or encouragement to finish one's degree in a research unit on the philosopher. these are certainly interesting within the confines of a degree program, for those who love to study philosophers, but not in my eyes relevant to social upheaval - in fact, i would say Land's continuous popularity among a well-connected niche in the jaded social network broken perhaps after Black Lives Matter, or Occupy Wall Street proves only the continued relevance of academia to would-be dissidents seeking relevance and success - still defined, largely, in terms of political reform even as it would deny all of these things. Returning to the subject of Lemuria, it seems like one of the points of it was how logico-philosophic, political analysis, like all processes had glitches in it and the CCRU upon discovering these things aligned itself with the glitch as an expanding categorical denial of analysis as discussed previously, its regime, from which flowed limitless creation. >>9932 >he needs to become more serious about compiling his recent material. Some of his best stuff is hidden in obscure blog posts you can only find on archives, or random tweets. can you please share some of this writing? I've read one of his most recent works, "hot and cold anarchism", it was dull and insufferable. I felt this way about his essay on hyper-racism as well. >>9928 >I’ve just realized that there is a distant link between Nick Land and O9A, in that both utilize accelerationism, haha. the relationship between Nick Land type accelerationism and Atomwaffen accelerationism, which is derived from the o9a, is particular. while Landian or other theorycel accelerationists are interested in end-of-the-world media and eschatology, as well as maintaining relevance, discussion of o9a and the cloud of far-right organizations, and their lineage, was important to them and their twitter groupchats, the aesthetic of disaster media especially in maximal, hyper-compressed ways, which became known as accelerationist propaganda was popular with both parties. however a distinction was made by Landians and such from "american futurists" (the formal ideology of atomwaffen) as the former did not believe that racial tensions were something that they could intensify, nor did they project racial intensification as playing out in remotely the same ways. For instance the Landians are largely concerned with the implications of Chinese economic dominance in the global economy, something Atomwaffen would not think about except perhaps as a vaguely novel terror, while Land seemingly dedicated, or attempted to, actual exploration into those economies. Landians also claim hyper-racism as a serious project of technocapital proceeding in ways aligned with the eugenicist movement in silicon valley, as a transformative development of technology, which was largely and undoubtedly a sin against nature among Atomwaffen types. Who saw race as more of a fundamental category of being which was being forcibly suppressed by modern degeneracy. While Land eventually would circle around to the concept of "bio-leninism", i honestly just see this as an example of how consistently right wing thought from very disparate places is directed back towards establishment political and economic agendas. In general you'll find accelerationists of the >>9925 variety refuting accelerationism as something to be used at all, meaning something very fundamentally different - accelerationism is happening whether you like it or not, it is something technocapital is doing to humans until their inevitable extinction and subscession by superintelligent AI(s), which is already here, in the form of technocapital constructing itself. >>9933 unfortunately, philosophy is the justification of any of those things. but i agree with you, tragic and hilarious is its failure to develop past navel-gazing self-rationale, challenging every other field to the genuine problems it would identify but were as-a-whole ignored. academic philosophy is complicit in this.

>>9941 Your analysis is extremely interesting. >but i honestly dont see them saying current year I think it's always at least implied in Progressive discourse, but I understand that the literal term "current year", that was used at some point, has been ridiculed out of existence. >owever i do not see how the technical - mathematical - rationale of bitcoin doesn't also fall under the science-progress-worship you ascribe in a tradition from Nietszche, Delueze et Guettari to Land Just to clarify, I didn't ascribe it to them. I think that Land is explicitly opposed to that, it's what he calls "the AOE", and that is precisely the reason why the CCRU and NRx form a continuum, and people who claim otherwise are just disgruntled lefties. >I think my disappointment with seeing Land as a Lemurian is the failure to escape the whigish historicizing of political tendencies being the projects of individuals or interest groups Please, expand on that paragraph. It seems like you have thought about it quite a lot, and some of the points you mentioned (like the bit about the Overton window) weren't even in my radar. >Returning to the subject of Lemuria I think that's where some of the members took it, but I think Land knew better than that, and predicted that the "outside" would just get altered by Capital the moment it was introduced to it. That's why he moved to Shanghai, I believe, because the only way out of Capital is through it.

He is appearing on Theory Underground in 4 days. These are the guys trying to get him to debate Zizek, so this is one step closer to that possibly happening. Also looks like we will finally find out what's going on with his X account and whether the xenocosmography one is really him. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W1qEhkr9k8c

>>10403 Theory Underground are a bunch of morons. They are charging people money for a reading group and giving lectures despite being absolutely illiterate on anything that isn't their narrow post-humanist literary canon. Its like the blind leading the blind. I can go online and get that soykaf for free without having to put up with their "underground" bullshit. The authors they read are as canonical and institutional as they come, you can find them on any grad school reading list. Land has spent the last few months more or less fuarrrking around with them, and instead of coming to the obvious conclusion that this man is not worth their time they wind up making excuse after excuse for him. "Ohh he's lost his spark.... Ohh its disappointing but maybe he's trying to convey some sekret message by treating us like soykaf." As much as I loathe Zizek, he'd beat the fuarrrk out of Land in any debate. Nick hasn't formulated a clear thought in decades. The only reason anyone likes him is his cyber aesthetic. Few scrutinize his ideas or concepts critically. Who the hell wants to see two dinosaurs from the 90s have a debate about the 2020s? Zizek hasn't written anything meaningful since the late 90s and neither has Land. Its worthless spectacle, a popcorn flick for theory retards who's act like edgy art school grads and philosophers but can't hack basic logic. People need to stop turning to genius "public intellectuals" for validation, especially outdated dinosaurs who have their heads shoved so far up their own ass they are totally disconnected from the real world.

Masami Eiri · 2025-04-30 15:16
It will end up happening anyway.
Yuki Nagato · 2025-04-30 16:53
He is a far better author than Moldbug imo.
Koichiro · 2026-03-13 07:49
I was kind of interested in his stuff and listened to a few interviews just to get a feel and he seems like a regular wordcel. He isn't saying anything particularly wrong but he's not saying anything profound either. He complicates explanations for very simple concepts as if he's saying something new, he seems like a complete retard with no insights at all. >doood the technology is going to go fooom we can't stop it duuuuuude I'm convinced people are into this stuff just for aesthetics.
Meddler · 2026-03-27 08:10
Misunderstood Deleuze and Guattari so bad he became hypercapitalist. Took too much meth. This is not particularly unique. In times of great leftist failures many leftists had become populist right-wingers while abandoning class politics. Sorel started allying with the right after the failure of a strike wave, Mussolini gained prominence after the failure of the Biennio Rosso, and so on. His merit lies primarily in the topics he covered. He analysed what was at the time the coming digital world when few others did. He was perceptive, but his accelerationist politics are the wrong solution.

>>11397 I genuinely think he was using Moldbug as a plaything and just screwing around because that's always been his personality. Moldbug is a certified retard.

>>12091 >Moldbug is a certified retard. a very influential retard. i personally would just dismiss him completely if he didn't somehow manage to influence real american (and therefore global) politics
Sipho Nkosi · 2026-03-29 16:05
>>12092 moldbug's "influence" isnt that of one who shapes policy or ideology, it's rather his usefulness as a propagandistic mouthpiece for the preexisting neoliberal agenda. Consider the history of neofeudalism, while the phrase itself can be directly tied to the neoreactionary blogosphere of whom yarvin is the poster child, the actual agenda is really no different from the neocon / neolib alliance that defined American politics since the late 20th century. People like yarvin and land are courted as culture drivers and tasked to raise consensus among their followers for that agenda. Consider books like "the road to serfdom" by hayek or Rothbard's "for a new liberty". the former of which was given the medal of freedom by the first Bush. What you will find is that every president since Reagan has had the same program and it is a neofeudal one.
Anamika · 2026-04-10 07:17
>>12110 The trend Yarvin represents is much more extreme than your garden variety neoliberalism. Whereas neoliberalism is a surprisingly flexible style of government and economic management, the neofeudal cyber lolberts push a fairly rigid and extreme ideology, even hardcore Reaganites didn't outright reject Rawlsian liberalism the way Yarvin does. This ideology (if you can even call it that) is bankrolled by Silicon Valley tech elites and shows us how democracy as a concept has more or less outlived its usefulness for them and they are openly angling for the literal realization of cooperate rule.
Arisu Mizuki · 2026-04-10 07:54
>>12091 From my interactions with him I'd definitely say he's not retarded, or if he is now its a recent development. Self indulgent ? sure. Full of himself ? I won't deny it. But he's pretty sharp. >>12151 Its not just that democracy is not useful, its that its perverted and corrupted. Democracy is an abstraction of civil war, and the more you divorce it from being a headcount of armies the less reasonable a model it is. Its function is to calm the armies by satisfying them about probable results, but if the stakes are too high and the results are too questionable the whole thing is just a farce.
Lunch · 2026-04-17 17:12
I think the CCRU and Fanged Noumea writings are well worth reading, even if their moment has pretty thoroughly passed. It still clearly has some influences within certain British academic circles (mainly students). Mark Fisher's "Terminator vs Avatar" is still a useful text imo.For worse, Land's influence is everywhere. He's probably also to blame for the influx of nonsense Deleuzian theory that's taken over much of experimental theory and criticism. Sadie Plant on the other hand, now *there's* a theorist! Zeros + Ones and A Most Radical Gesture are essential reads.

>>8223 >What are your thoughts on Nick Land? I don't know enough about the man to make a value judgment on him but accelerationism is the most obviously insincere, misguided, controlled opposition perspective imaginable. It doesn't take some kind of genius to see that the modus operandi of the globalist cartel is a slow, gradual decline as they gradually loot and pillage and concentrate all of the world's wealth and power to themselves. This will not result in the swift collapse accelerationists envision, it is more akin to the gradual decline of the late Roman Empire owing to the increased centralization and corruption of the Roman authority: a slow slide into barbarism. Any school of political thought that says, "vote for your enemies and allow them to accomplish their policy objectives" should be dismissed.
