Have you any experience in self-publishing books? Or any questions about it? Here's this thread.
Leading questions:
- What's your favorite software for making your own books and audiobooks?
- How can you advertise your books online without feeling like a wage slave?
- How can you sell your (digital and/or physical) books online without compromising your (I assume) anti-skynet principles?
- Can you make a living being a freelance writer without selling out to corpo publishers or CLD content?
- Do/would you use copyright, CC, PD or other licences for your published works?
- Etc.
A little inb4: There's this thread >>5663 that derailed hard into a "fuarrrk amazon" vs "I like amazon it makes me money" discussion. So ITT if you like amazon just use it, no need to wage slave one of the biggest corps on earth here. And if you don't like amazon, post alternative websites that provide a similar service, or ways to DIY.

Now that's a stupid word filter. The original said "without feeling like a s h i l l"

I don't know but Greg Egan seems to be doing something right
>- Do/would you use copyright, CC, PD or other licences for your published works?
Keep copyright for a decade then make them CC.

You realize that is the entire purpose of shilling, right? Are you really asking how someone pulls some wacky cognitive dissonance and thinks they aren't shilling?
>complaining about word filters
Everyone who isn't new knows what you meant. Please don't soykaf up the board trying to get around it.

I like using latex. I haven't done much in the way of self-published, but I plan to. I've been working on fixing an edit of The Lightning and the Sun by Savitri Devi, because the one that is out is riddled with typos and other nonsense.
