Under the Volcano

I don't know if there is a thread for this kind of question, but I was wondering if anyone here has read the book 'Under the Volcano' by Malcolm Lowry, and whether there are any recommendations for more books in its style/genre. I'm guessing a theme of isolation may be the best bet, thought I wonder if there are more similar books out there.

lowry's other books are a good place to start. from there, it depends on what youre looking for. for the style look into other modernists. for the themes of isolation, repressed homosexuality and substance abuse, houellebecq and tao lin arent bad although of course the style is different.
