Let's get some high-quality books for Uni students, shall we? >German and English appreciated I'm personally looking for Lineare Algebra (German maybe) Please Upload Yours!

You need only 3 books to get started with physics: Simmons: Precalculus Mathematics in a Nutshell Riley et al: Mathematical Methods for Physics and Engineering Young/Freedman: University Physics That's all you need to take you through freshman year. You can get them on Library Genesis if need be, but the math books are nice to own outright.

Oh, and if all you're looking for is an applied linear algebra book, you really can't beat... Strang: Linear Algebra and Its Applications (But Riley takes you through that and most other math you need for physics, starting with calculus on through differental equations and into some more advanced math.)

I'd say instead: Courant et John - Introduction to Calculus and Analysis, Taylor - Classical mechanics, Griffiths -Electrodynamics, for the very basics. Perhaps start with Leonard Susskind's theoretical minimun series, for bootstrapping disclaimer The first set does require some mathematical maturity

Can anyone recommend a good book for learning computer graphics from a mathematical perspective? Looking for a survey of various lighting/shading/physical reflection models, volumetric/path tracing/ray tracing algorithms, normal/bump mapping, texturing, etc. I'm not looking for a "how to write shaders" type book.. I already know how GLSL works, and I'm not looking for a "linear algebra for programmers" type book.. I already know the requisite math well enough to understand a terse explanation of the algorithms without much background introduction. Unfortunately these are the only two kinds of books I've been able to find.
