I like this guy's writing, he's actually articulate.
Time is accelerating and people are crowding all spaces both physical and digital while moving too fast for everyone else to adjust. All temporal and geographical borders have collapsed so now all movements are in function of a slow war of erosion. Our society went back to a primitive Darwinian model but people are too evolved/afraid to directly overpower others so we've all become a society of parasites. The idea of forming groups implied the opposition with a distinct other entity, now all entities are too massive to fight so we do all our fighting internally. It's literally about sucking each other's blood until one of the two collapses.

>we've all become a society of parasites
This is a good way of putting it, because it raises a very important point: if we are the parasites than what is the host? Find the answer to that question and you'll understand the true horror of our present situation.

Well, he has a twitter, what did you expect.
Yu-ichi · 2020-09-05 00:47
Went down this rabbit hole almost a year ago. His work, especially early stuff, is quite good. It would sound groundbreaking at first, but after reading people like Deleuze, Burroughs, and Wiener one should come to similar things naturally. Most or all of his stuff his worth reading (what else is there to do?)
Really interesting how he appears at surface level to support the kind of decentralized chaos that his writing evokes, but later has been much for a neofeudal nRX like structure. Still not sure exactly where I lie.
>>5060
>>5061
Yeah this is like the good way to put part of his "diagnoses". Positive feedback rules our world, as it does the world of viruses (parasites). Feedback generally, through the interactions of opposed groups, is a great way to obtain information about a system, and use it "for" the system.
>>5182
His twitter is 50% stuff like this, 45% racism, and 5% interesting stuff. Half joking of course. >>5061

Land was the edgiest cunt in his youth but he never developed his thought from there and so remains an edgy cunt who will only ever be followed by internet losers with no friends who think adhering to a ridiculous worldview gives them character.

Yes, DA SJWs
Who do you think the technocrats of the West are, and what do you think they have been pushing?
The political left are not proficient at anything any more because of this 'DA SJWs' problem, and it's by no means an accident. It undoes the political right simultaneously too because they need a competitive duality to force them to produce work of any worth. The Chinese system barely has to do anything to game us after that.

This interview changed a lot, for the better, my perception of Land's own intentions and proper prescriptions: https://youtu.be/FgEqQujsNTY
While he does believe, and often seem even enthusiastic about, the inhuman face of capital, what he prescribes is that there's an inevitability in it which makes not only futile, but actually more harmful to resist its acceleration and dehumanization. However, he makes pretty clear here that the human quest for self-preservation is paramount, only adding that we have been mistaken for centuries by trying to achieve it by escaping the telos of the capital, since, as he very well put it, escape itself is a cybernetic function embedded to capital itself.

>Take your bike and navigate on top of the largest hill in your area, take your preferred stimulant and start peddling until peddling becomes pointless, ignore your brakes.
Speed is the greatest art within the modern age, it presents a new glamour which is distinct and separate from the many artistic endeavors completed with far greater grandiosity and glory by our distant ancestors. Speed represents all we are that they were not, the great civilizations like Rome stood as slumbering giants building upon the past, We instead burn the past and smash the statues of bygone conquerors accelerating our vehicle we call man towards the inevitable crash when the brick wall of reality is arranged in front of us. We now find ourselves in a situation where the past itself provides us little comfort nor do the beautiful rays of its brighter age shine through into the modern condition, so then we should be artists of speed and enjoy the ride for it no longer matters whether we are to crash, our car is already bruised.

> vehicle we call man towards the inevitable crash
Is this your quote?
Land afaik studied a lot of Deleuze and he built his understanding of acceleration on that. Deleuze understood that there's no 'crash' coming that's going to save us from what's coming. Capital folds calamity into itself, what we're seeing now can in theory extend forever.
Figures some dude who approaches acceleration from some retard nazi perspective wouldn't get this tho. There's some poignant right wing ways to understand Land and D&G but basically pretending that we're hurtling towards some sort of crash is totally misguided, and you're preparing for a calamity that will never come.

>Is this your quote?
If writing something down once is a quote, yes.
>Land afaik studied a lot of Deleuze and he built his understanding of acceleration on that. Deleuze understood that there's no 'crash' coming that's going to save us from what's coming. Capital folds calamity into itself, what we're seeing now can in theory extend forever.
Even you are forced to admit that it can “In theory” extend forever, you can certainly in theory run your bike down an endless hill never making a mistake and never slipping and your momentum will eternally accelerate; but only a fool would think man to be that competent. The current system is built upon eternal growth without taking into account the failures of eternal and continuous growth, we may be able to produce more every year and watch our capital rates increase but were you to consider the cyclical view on history also found within Lands works you would see this as nothing but a repetition of prior events and prior civilizations. The ouroboros which is our current system of capital will inevitably consume itself in the greed for the generation of further capital.
>Figures some dude who approaches acceleration from some retard nazi perspective wouldn't get this tho. Nazi? Sure, I appreciate them as a luciferian manifest of will. Right wing? The right or those who claim themselves so are stagnant and weak men who hold onto scraps of what was, they stand at the ruins of an ancient cathedral and yell loudly at the pickaxe man to stop smashing the already ruined statues - but each time he swings the right winger does nothing for he is all talk. He holds onto nothing of value and creates value from the act of holding on itself. I don’t pretend we are hurling rapidly at some “crash” and such an understanding of my post is ridiculous, I was talking about the cultural and artistic manifestations and changes from the slow pace of the past to the rapid acceleration of today, and the change in what is “beautiful” and of artistic value. The societal commentary was more reflective of the overall ethos upon which we now find ourselves in which the past is no longer the land of myths where we look to for inspiration and instead the future formulates our “gods”. The crash mentioned was a parallel to the nihilistic drive within the act itself and the actions of a modern artist/philosopher, his will to die for a thrill - in comparison to those of the past. The likelihood is that you as a figure will crash against the figurative wall in the pursuit of ideals within the modern condition and find yourself damaged.
>will there be a societal collapse?
Although my post wasn’t about this you seemed quite intent upon it so I shall share my viewpoint: yes, one is inevitable. But when? It could be hundreds of years, maybe thousands, but there will be a time man crashes into the wall of his capability or destroys himself until he is no longer considerably human. The “crash” will come when man sets a carpet for the prophets and fulfills the conditions necessary for its existence; although that could take a variable eternity.

seems to argue towards the opposite (in recent

Capitalism is something which integrates points of failures (into
the system). Becoming a simulacrum without the original meaning,
reduced to a point without any harm, controlled self
criticism. How do you change the political system, through
ideologies if they are reduced (and optimized) into a
commodity. It has left the real, hyper-categorized. The meaning
substituted, a map of the map.
Capitalism needs its subsystems (resources, territory, a
constant (technological) increase of acceleration (in order to
produce)). Target the pillars carrying the weight of the temple,
damage them, and it will collapse.
As i interpret the Left Accelerationism, it is accelerating
Capitalism in such a speed that it cannot replace the broken
pillars, temple collapsing, leaving a blank slate, now outside
the system. More generally just realizing its inevitable collapse
and and accelerating the damaging of Capitalism moving towards
it.
Right Accelerationism seems to endorse its euphoria, surfing on
the edge of the high tech, bleeding edge, left disappointed and
haunted by the the lost future of 90s futurism. They see the
current collapse and instability of liberal democracy, desiring
in a way (what they see) as the inevitable future
Neo-totalitarianism, Techno-fascism and Control.
Personally i am more familiar with the works CCRU, so read up the
books, and decide for yourself. There is a lot of tactical
hyperstitional propaganda being used in the wired, easy to get
hooked on planted ideas.
Baudrillard, Mark Fisher, Guy Debord are all necessary towards
understanding Capitalism and not getting stuck in a Landian nunnle.
Seems a lot of people don't understand that a lot of his works
are theory fiction, and take a lot literally.
Some of his work is so incredibly beautiful, and poetic, one
should try read the books and articles without any political
perspective.
