René Guénon René Guénon (November 15, 1886 – January 7, 1951) was a French author and intellectual who remains an influential figure in the domain of metaphysics, having written on topics ranging from metaphysics, sacred science and traditional studies to symbolism and initiation. In his writings, he proposes either "to expose directly some aspects of Eastern metaphysical doctrines", these doctrines being defined by him as of "universal character" or "to adapt these same doctrines [for western readers] while keeping strictly faithful to their spirit"; he only endorsed the function of "handing down" those Eastern doctrines, while stating their "non-individual character". His works, written and first published in French, have been translated into more than twenty languages. https://www.goodreads.com/author/show/239177.Ren_Gu_non Martin Heidegger Martin Heidegger (September 26, 1889 – May 26, 1976) was a German philosopher known for his existential and phenomenological explorations of the "question of Being." Heidegger argues that philosophy is preoccupied with what exists and has forgotten the question of the "ground" of being. We find ourselves "always already" fallen into a world that already existed; but he insists that we have forgotten the basic question of what being itself is. This question defines our central nature. He argues that we are practical agents, caring and concerned about our projects in the world, and allowing it to reveal, or "unconceal" itself to us. He also says that our manipulation of reality is often harmful and hides our true being as essentially limited participants, not masters, of the world which we discover. https://www.goodreads.com/author/show/6191.Martin_Heidegger Aleksandr Dugin Alexander (also spelled Aleksandr) Gel'yevich Dugin (Russian: Александр Гельевич Дугин) (born January 7, 1962) is a russian political activist and ideologue of the contemporary Russian school of geopolitics often known as "neo-Eurasianism". The core political position of Dugin is a Moscow-based Russian state imperialism, to which all other considerations are secondary. He is famous for his so-called "Fourth Political Theory". https://www.goodreads.com/author/show/18375660.Aleksandr_Dugin Julius Evola Julius Evola (or Giulio Cesare Andrea Evola, 19 May 1898 - 11 June 1974) was an Italian philosopher and esoteric scholar. Born in Rome to a family of the Sicilian landed gentry, Evola was raised a strict Catholic. Despite this, his life was characterised by ‘an anti-bourgeois approach’ hostile to both ‘the dominant tradition of the West – Christianity and Catholicism – and to contemporary civilization – the ‘modern world’ of democracy and materialism’. By turns ‘engineering student, artillery officer, Dadaist poet and painter, journalist, alpinist, scholar, linguist, Orientalist, and political commentator’, he has been described as a 'rare example of universality in an age of specialization'. Yet behind it all lay a singular emphasis on, and pursuit of, a ‘direct relationship to the Absolute’. For Evola, ‘the center of all things was not man, but rather the Transcendent.’ This metaphysical conviction can be seen to have determined both Evola’s stance on socio-political issues, and his antipathetic attitude towards ‘all professional, sentimental and family routines’. The author of many books on esoteric, political and religious topics (including The Hermetic Tradition, The Doctrine of Awakening and Eros and the Mysteries of Love), his best-known work remains Revolt Against the Modern World, a trenchant critique of modern civilisation that has been described as ‘the gateway to his thought’. https://www.goodreads.com/author/show/82974.Julius_Evola

I don't understand why young Anglos are starting to agree with the people who pretty unanimously agree that Anglos need to be genocided for the greater good.

Guenon reminded me a lot of typical imageboard posters, only knows attack mode. Credit to him it wasn't only attacks on Western thought, but when it was time to delve on the quality of Eastern doctrines it was just hot air.

Evola missed the big picture of Guenon's ideas, he couldn't let go of his belief that Italians were just better than everyone.

I wonder why Anglos believe that current cleptocratic putinist post-soviet oligarchate has something spiritual in it and why would some bearded clown be taken serious on political level. I also wonder whether such people indeed acquire status of "top 100 philosophers that changed the world" postmortem and every one of them were Dugin/Zizek/Peterson tier for their contemporaries.

>>4572 Evola believing in the superiority of Italian blood is a popular, but mistaken belief. He's written a lot of articles about the mistaken belief of Mussolini and Hitler in blood. Check the file related, it's not all he's written on the topic, but a fair enough summary. IIRC, he also spends some time on this topic in at least one of his big three books.

>>4573 Because they advertise themselves as such and the language/cultural barrier is strong. It's similar to the tankies who think China is a communist utopia but the CIA spreads misinformation to make them look bad. Of course, there's also the fact they /want/ to believe this delusion - they want to believe there is a shangri la out there that has escaped modernity/capitalism out there somewhere. Dugin's whole shtick is getting western liberals to soykaf their pants because he presents himself as some menacing string puller, like he's a modern Rasputin. But in reality he's a Zhrinovsky tier figure who is mostly just controlled opposition for the smarter side of Russian ultranationalists. I mean, he's not a total meme, he's actually very well read and intelligent.

>>4120 Guenon didn't hate anybody, he was just critical of the west for moving away from tradition, although in his view it was an inevitability thanks to the Kali Yuga. He even defended Judaism as a valid culture and tradition against most of his peers. But yes, Anglosphere Evola fans are stupid. Evola thought Anglos were human scum responsible for the worst of modernity - although he especially hated Americans, who he regarded as spiritually African people who only moved on instinct (not sentient) and were completely controlled by Jewish people. He would happily murder every last Anglo - even the ones who agree with him! - without any guilt afterwards.

War for Eternity: Inside Bannon's Far-Right Circle of Global Power Brokers An explosive and unprecedented inside look at Steve Bannon's entourage of global powerbrokers and the hidden alliances shaping today's geopolitical upheaval. In 2015, Bloomberg News named Steve Bannon "the most dangerous political operative in America." Since then, he has grown exponentially more powerful--and not only in the United States. In this groundbreaking and urgent account, award-winning scholar of the radical right Benjamin Teitelbaum takes readers behind-the-scenes of Bannon's global campaign against modernity. Inspired by a radical twentieth-century ideology called Traditionalism, Bannon and a small group of right-wing powerbrokers are planning new political mobilizations on a global scale--discussed and debated in secret meetings organized by Bannon in hotel suites and private apartments in DC, Europe and South America. Their goal? To upend the world order and reorganize geopolitics on the basis of archaic values rather than modern ideals of democracy, freedom, social progress, and human rights. Their strenuous efforts are already producing results, from the fortification of borders throughout the world and the targeting of immigrants, to the undermining of the European Union and United States governments, and the expansion of Russian influence. Drawing from exclusive interviews with Bannon's hidden network of far-right thinkers, years of academic research into the radical right, and with unprecedented access to the esoteric salons where they meet, Teitelbaum exposes their considerable impact on the world and their radical vision for the future.

Look into Charles Upton (a diehard Guenon scholar) if you want to see criticism of Dugin/Evola/etc. from a big T Traditionalist/perennialist perspective. One should also be aware that Dugin basically appropriates Orthodox Christianity for his own ends, he engages in magick and says that if he ever gained real power in the church he would backdoor a neopagan and neoplatonism revival into it.

The so-called "Fourth Political Theory" is just fascism with magical thinking, one might even say not too dissimilar to "national socialism" but really, it's nothing new. Dugin's a psychopath and anyone who claims to adhere to his "philosophy" obviously has no philosophical training, probably one of two things, or perhaps both: - bullied and seeks revenge on "the world" - an edgelord seeking to show how unique they are by having such an edgy alternative worldview
Vasya Pupkin · 2020-08-31 16:46
>>5217 From what I can tell, Dugin's fourth theory claims to be different by drawing from Evola's interpretation of the caste system. He reckons that socialism is rule by the servile caste in the name of "the working class" as an entity, capitalism is rule by the mercantile caste in the name of the individual, and fascism is rule by the warrior caste in the name of the nation, with his system being rule by the priestly caste in the name of what Heidegger called "Dasein". Of course, the priestly caste is tiny and has very little to say about worldly matters, so it would delegate everything to the warriors. In practice, it would be fascism but with magical advisors for the dictators. The big problem, ultimately, is that not even Evola would have tried to apply his theories directly to the modern world, he used all his conceptions of caste and Tradition to tell people how to live in the modern world despite rejecting what it has become. Dugin is an actual psychopath, he wants to brute-force a nation into living out his own fascist ideals using Evola's theories to justify himself, he knows the common people would suffer under that.
