Weird occult books

The Fin · 2019-08-31 07:41
I want weird and occult books and reccomedations. The more esoteric and weird, the better.
Donna Hawthorne · 2019-08-31 09:01
>>3549 I can recommend the Magia naturalis et innaturalis attributed to Doktor Faustus. You can get the old German edition for free on archive.org and there's apparently been a recent English edition too. It's mainly got spirit summoning and some puffery. Also, treasure finding magic, as the Faustian tradition indicates.

Ive actually been reading up on Theosophy a lot recently and have gone through some of the movements fundamental texts. - Isis Unveiled - The Secret Doctrine Both of these are massive tomes that basically link every occult system religion and spiritual movement on earth along with myths and legendary history into blavatsky's personal theorem. "Esoteric Buddhism" and the Theosophy society's offical QaA (In book form) are also good. "The secret teachings of all ages" is also good. Its basically just a reference book cataloguing every occult symbol and meaning in history written by anactual 33o mason

Has anyone managed to find an occult book that seems to actually reflect some real occult presence. They're cool and all but until I find something 'real' I'd rather just stick to occult fiction where they can do whatever they want without just being the ramblings of a charlatan or schizophrenic.
Anonymous · 2020-09-09 20:10
>>5301 What exactly do you mean? I might have a hunch but i read so many occult books im not sure how to exactly narrow down what it that you seek.
Gyula Kovacs · 2020-09-09 20:38
>>5302 Are there any occult books you have read that actually seem to reflect some real supernatural presence, its a lot to ask for and potentially there are no examples but I'm curious in reading occult books that fellow lains think have stumbled upon something real. Rather than reading something that only really worked for a 19th century audience.
John Rain · 2020-09-09 22:02
>>5304 Real like as in accounts of physical encounters with supernatural beings? Funny you say 19th century, here is a book from that are that seems to detail such an account, its difficult getting used to the writing style of that age, i havent finished it yet but it might be for you then. https://www.sacred-texts.com/earth/eti/index.htm Its rare to find books on encounters, supernatural beings by definition are somewhat hard to identify directly. Theres a soykafton of really freaky alien encounters that might be more of your interest.

Delilah · 2020-10-08 14:03
The Dragon Legacy by Nicholas De Vere. Seems to have strange insider occult info from being in secret cults and having an autistic obsession with his family bloodline which he claims ancient royal descent. So much so that he declared himself a prince but if nobility is akin to knowledge I would dare say he probably is. Contains details on literally vampyric bloodrites and a foreword by a woman I dare not mention who died in mysterious circumstance.

>>3550 >Magia naturalis et innaturalis To any dabblers out there. Be careful what you get yourself into. Do not get into pacts like Faust did, you can lose your mind and your soul. And dont go anywhere near the Goetia, unless you are a monk, purifed and trained for the task. These are not things to be taken lightly.
Chani · 2020-12-01 18:06
>>5453 Do you mean the full Goetia, or the portion that was published by Aleister Crowley? I have a copy of the latter as well as the book "Dictionary of Demons" by Michelle Belanger. Belanger herself is said to be a bit of a fraud, but it was helpful of her to collect all the demon entries into one book. I can't speak for OP, but I personally collect books like these for story ideas, entertainment, and so forth. I've no intention of casting spells or anything. I like reading up on the occult, but I'm more of science person.

>>3549 Treatise on the Reintegration of Beings was written by Martinez de Pasqually, who founded the 18th century French masonry-inspired magical order of the Elus Coen which then would go on to inspire the Christian esoteric movement of Martinism which then went on to inspire the Golden Dawn. This book is the foundation of mystical Martinist and Elus Coen ideas, stating that man is a spirit who has fallen from his original state and relationship with God and that he must be reintegrated to the Kingdom of Heaven by the prophets and Christ’s guidance. This informed the magic of the Elus Coen heavily, as it much of it is centred around reintegrating the self and even demonic fallen beings with the divine. The Green Book of the Elus Coen includes many of the rituals and material of the system of magic of that Elus Coen practiced, but it is by no means even close to portraying the full proper system that was practiced, The Original High Degrees and Theurgical System of the Masonic Elect Cohen Knights of the Universe is a recent translation that translates more of the magical material into English and modernises them but for now (at least in the English world) most of the magic of the Elus Coen is guarded by orders and their secrets which one must join to access. The Elus Coen system could be summed up by Enochian and angelic magic, theurgy, Goetia for the sake of binding demons and raising them into the light and exorcism. A lot of the material was taken from medieval grimoires and cabalistic works, which were rumoured to fall into Martinez’s hands due to his father being involved in the Spanish Inquisition. Martinez de Pasqually died in Hiati and it is known that a lot of Elus Coen magical rituals are still practiced to this day there: https://www.youtube.com/user/KnightofBenevolence for the Haitian rituals https://www.youtube.com/c/OrdreMartinistesSouverains/videos for more information

As far as I know, I don't have schizophrenia or something like it and my experiences with phenomena that aren't explainable as anything other than supernatural or the result of some undiagnosed mental illness have been confined to me doing things intentionally. It's honestly not that hard to get into this sorta soykaf if you go into it with an open mind and be prepared to use belief as a tool. Read a book on chaos magick like Condensed Chaos if you want a relatively easy and accessible starting point, or a book on the history of occultism if you want to get acquainted with what's out there and find something that interests you, and then just do it.

I found this old book (1922) somewhere, where the author "Premel El Adaros" claims to teach you how to reach a "superconcious mind", e.g. get 8h of sleep in 15 minutes. After 4 pages it just reads like a scam and this guy wanted to sell useless stuff, e.g. crystals. What bothers me is that you can’t find any real information about this online, neither the book nor the author. While the book is listed in library catalogues, it seems that there is no additional information. Does anyone know more about this?

AFAIK there is no real connection between Sufism and Masonry, and while Sebottendorff does seem to know a little bit when it comes to abjad letters, some of the stuff he talks about here is new to me. Anyone claiming to be a Bektashi after that point is suspicious. The Bektashiyyah were disbanded by force in the 1820s and the stuff modern Bektashis preach don't match those the movement traditionally practiced. I'm personally interested in more practical or exoteric applications of magic. The rejection of material reality in many occult books just comes off as new age cancer to me to be honest and I don't feel like sifting through the same old hermetic lectures to find something worthwhile. "It's all in the mind bro just use your imagination or something" >>10074 Why not try manipulating peoples perception of you or manipulating people / animals to carry out your will? It accomplishes the same goals and is basically the same thing if you can make it a second nature. Have fun raping dozens of people with your soul ;D
Liet Kynes · 2024-06-23 08:44
>>10075 Because it isn't about having power over others. It's about being, becoming, experiencing. Does having the one form never seem stifling to you? Children know what it is to wish to be a bird or a tiger for its own sake, but we forget. Cheap tricks and smoke and mirrors don't hold my attention. I want the real thing, which is either in the realm of the "impossible" or, with some very small but nonzero chance for the honest mind, in the realm of uncommonly potent hidden magic.
Splicer · 2024-06-23 09:19
>>10074 first you have to UPROOT that subconscious doubt written all over your attempts or you will never get even the fragrance, a whiff of the real deal Then, of course it's easy but let me explain Consider the Tree of Life Diagram Imagine Malkuth as The World... the world you live in, but like, this world is an echo of the real Actual World. This world that you see-sense-taste, it's like living in the parking garage of the real world. You can sort of hear reverberations of the real world bouncing off the walls, but its 3 am and no one's around, and occasionally something really fuarrrked up happens and there's a stillbirth going on in some corner. That's the world everyone lives in. Time to leave and go experience real life. Maybe spend a year REALLY experiencing, taking note, of how unreal, waxen, false the reality presented by the 5 senses is. Above Malkuth are 3 paths. For what you want to achieve, you want to go left (or right, depending on how you're facing), towards Hod. Talk to Hermes / Anubis / Hermanubis. Have him give you a familiar. This familiar will teach you what you need to know about shapeshifting. Study talismans, and create and consecrate a talisman to seal this deal. This is the path of the Were-Wolf, shapeshifter, other-form taker. The Middle Path towards Yesod is for Zombies, and the Right Path towards Netzach is for Vampires. GL/HF.
Frank Garza · 2024-06-23 14:40
>>10079 excellent insight... you're well on your way. yes, it is 'reflected' in the mind, you need (to work by) the 'light of the moon', yesod. so you generate these forms as your astral vehicle. then of course there's the remainder, 'well how do i make it "real" though?' there are methods to transfer things from the astral to the physical, it is a thin enough veil. it may take millions of years of slow grinding evolution for some, for others it can be spoken in but a single word. CC's don juan talks about this type of power a lot.
