What pens do you use to write? Any preferred brands?(USER WAS WARNED FOR THIS POST (Rule 4) Always elaborate on your opinions, Write a better OP next time, One line OP with a single question and no additional context? Why is this question being asked? What pens do you use to write ?)

im pretty picky about the feel and price of the pen, but not the brand. i always look for a manageable inky feel when getting new pens, and if i find a pen that provides that feel consistently, ill usually go for that brand if its cheap. for pencils i dont really care, i have a pretty expensive pencil laying around that my grandma gave me and it feels just the same as any other pencil, only difference is the INSANELY better eraser. and for keyboards, clicky tactile switches all the way.
Neuromancer · 2019-03-18 16:18
>>3144 i probably went too all out on that, didnt even need to mention keyboards either. but god i love clicky tactile switches. but brands never matter to me, all that matters is the feel

G2 all day every day. I don't write a ton of words, mostly draw diagrams as I'm an engineer, but it makes my sloppy handwriting look a little better.

I pretty much exclusively use the Pilot Precise V5/V7 RT. Something about the feel does it for me.

>>3146 Nice, but so pricey. that being said, I find myself using fountain pens because that is how I learned to write with in school, and also smooth flow (the ink sometimes smears though).
William Holtzer · 2019-03-20 01:06
I have a fountain pen. Metal shell with a nice texture. Used to be super smooth with writing, but I think something internal is damaged because the ink doesn't flow like it should and I've cleaned it out twice now. The pens I like best are dip pens, but they're messy and time-consuming to work with.

I like skilcraft pens. They're manufactured by blind people, which is kinda neat. To me, they have a cool retro vibe that reminds me of like Motel 6 front desks or something. They also write really smoothly. I'm left-handed and lots of pens have ink that smears. The skilcrafts don't do that, so it's another plus.

Uniball Micro Eco 05 black roller pen and Centropen Document Liner 03 black.

>>3154 I always liked the BIC pens (with the hard plastic crystal type grips) they are super cheap (and I have to buy a lot of them because I leave them everywhere)
The Fin · 2019-03-23 19:25
>>3143 preppy platinum. i have several of them and they are very pleasant to write with.

Pilot G2 0,5mm seems to work best for me. My handwriting is quite petite and I do mostly math.
Linda Lee · 2019-04-08 22:12
>>3143 Pilot frixion until recently I wrote all my notes with my trio of blue/red/black. They are refillable, erasable and very comfortable to write with. Lately I bought a waterman fountain pen which has a nice feel to it though it is less than what i expected, particularly for the price (150), for the red which I use for underlyinging and marking important stuff in my notes I bought a cheap "Grip 2011" Farber Castell fountain pen in "fine", for 25 bucks I must admit that it feels nicer than the more expensive pen. For pencils I am very happy with my pentel 0.3/0.5mm GraphGear 1000.

I'm using a Pilot Metro fountain pen daily. It's pretty inexpensive, I've been refilling it from the same bottle of ink for a year and I'm only halfway through. Pen is comfy and I'm not harming the environment by throwing away plastic pens.
Molly Millions · 2019-04-10 15:32
Just "Round Stic" BIC pens because I could but them in bulk at low cost ($5 for 60). I'm not very picky about the pen I use, and haven't really had issues with any.

I’m an surgeon. I was previously an electrical engineer. I write a lot. Outside of my office, I use Pilot G2s because nurses steal writing utensils. In my office I have a few very expensive gold fountain pens that I inherited from my parents and newer fountain pens. I only use fountain pens for important things. I use mechanical pencils for everything else. I have owned multiple Rotring 800s (in black and silver) and the tip wobbled, I recommend buying the silver because the black wear very easily. But the best mechanical pencil is the Pentecostal GraphGear 1000. They’re 20 dollars, compared to Rotring’s 80 dollars. They’re retractable, fun to fidget with the retractable mechanism, the tip does not wobble and I think they are the best. Only buy the GraphGear 1000 not the lower series because they are soykaf. The Pentel GraphGear 1000 is the best writing utensil. I am a very cheap person, but pencils are the only thing I’m willing to spend money on.

>>3384 Phone posting from work. My phone autocorrected Pentel to Pentecostal. I intended to say Pentel GraphGear 1000.
Incognito · 2019-06-28 20:17
>>3143 Standard bic pens. they're cheap, durable, and have a surprisingly nice feel and a great level of control.

Bic. Same brands that I use to light the tobacco and carcinogenic soykaf that I inhale into my lungs in order to more quickly leave this mortal coil full of glitterboys...

Mainly just normal bic pens, but I prefer ones that write wider because they make my handwriting look a little less bad.
