Leaving the system

Let's do a thread on books relating to ones journey to leaving the rat race for a self sufficient life. It's hard to find realistic books that aren't written by wealthy yuppies that had it easy in leaving society, like having a fancy remote job. I wish to use as few modern amenities and capital possible except where I personally see fit to exclude, like power tools, fencing, clothing, etc. I know these works exist because my grandparents are nearly fully self reliant farmers, and I've come across some good works on the topic. One person did so at 17 by themselves and is still going strong after ditching city life! I'll start with the following: >Surviving off grid: Decolonizing the industrial mind >Walden; or life in the woods >Tangpingist Manifesto
