where book

Y.T · 2017-12-13 03:14
where do you guys get your pdfs from? Is there a private tracker or something? I feel like I'm missing something, why is there no obvious repository for all this stuff? (does anyone have cyberpositive? I just want the damn book without going to a library in the Capital its not the fuarrrking middle ages)
Terzibashjian · 2017-12-13 03:17
Private e-book trackers like MyAnonamouse, and also Library Genesis
Joe Bloggs · 2017-12-13 03:26
>>1672 thank you! I'll apply for the invite on myanonamouse when they're awake. I've just been googling "book name .pdf" and occasionally using #bookz on irc but that has never worked once for me
Morpheus · 2017-12-13 04:35
I use open directory or claibre library searching. If you can get a good calibre library it'll have related stuff too, generally. Of course, it's a really slow method of getting something, but if it's popular or old, there's a decent chance you can find it.

Thanks for this thread Lains, I really needed this
Linda Lee · 2017-12-13 16:11
I get most of mine via google dorks filetype:PDF "<book title here>" include the quotes.
The Fin · 2017-12-14 08:53
>>1677 You end up with a lot of those Russian fake .pdf sites that just have a .pdf and some excerpts from books for a front end like that.
Mentat · 2017-12-14 09:13
I get mine from libGen http://gen.lib.rus.ec/ They have a lot of books (especially technology focused stuff). The only thing they're really bad at is books with recipes :(
Guthrie · 2017-12-14 16:10
If your lucky you can find huge collection of internet "library's" that allow you to download them. >>1683 That is true, it isn't always a winner... but for me, it has worked more than once.

Might as well ask here: Anyone got a pdf of Electronic Minds by Christian Kirtchev? I've tried just about everywhere (including pic related) and the only place that's got it is amazon. I don't have much money so I'd rather not have to resort to that.

>>1798 Because it's not a book, it's just a small manifesto Here is the link: https://www.digitalmanifesto.net/manifestos/15/

>>1800 Sorry lainon, I was wrong, there is a book called "Electronic Minds" from Kirtchev No free copies tho, costs 6$ on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Electronic-Minds-Hypothesis-Observations-Preprogrammed/dp/1451514328
Void · 2018-01-21 15:43
>>1801 Thanks lainon. That manifesto is what originally got me interested in this book. I might be able to get it on a free trial of kindle. Know if the DRM used by kindle is cracked? >>1671 sci-hub is pretty similar to libgen, and it's usually got different content. It's mostly scientific papers though, but you've got a chance of finding what you're looking for.
Linda Lee · 2018-01-25 17:21
>>1800 Pretty cool text. Also, found this on the link you gave: http://project.cyberpunk.ru/ Not very extensive, but some great, more esoteric cyberpunk references.

Is it possible to remove adobe DRM from epubs acquired through the Kobo store?
Hacker · 2018-12-29 02:16

I2P torrents.
Hacker · 2019-03-06 21:44
magnet/dht search engines. Those are not reliant on trackers or torrrent files which may get taken down. btdig.com is kinda ok, btkitty is shady as hell but with noscript and adblocker tolerable, btku has somewhat less files than the above it seems btdb is/was down 90% of the time, otherwise really nice. For more sites you can always look for "dht search engine " or "magnet search engine" Or if you want a nice software project: abuse libtorrent-rasterbar and implement a magnet/dht crawler yourself.

>>2921 Not that I'm aware of but it is still possible with amazon DRM. You have to install the kindle software on your PC and then there's an option in the settings menu to enable legacy DRM, which isn't really DRM so much as it is a weird file encoding. Calibre has a built in utility to convert this file type to normal PDF or whatever. Be sure to upload to libgen once you do this! Sorry if this doesn't help in your particular case.
