Thoughts on my analysis? I think it's very laincore

Lainanon · 2026-07-19 10:53
Hey guys. I made a video critiquing the entirety of online politics, essentially explaining how the focus on the persona takes away from the ideas discussed. Instead of the ideas spreading mimetically on their own, they become attached to personas and thus never leave their respective echo-chambers. I also detail how I use my persona, and how I'm going to dissolve mine. I'm looking to eventually recreate something similar to the milady phenomenon once my channel grows large enough. This feels connected to how lain views the wired? Tell me what you think! :) https://youtu.be/bDnZIcEDiVE?si=6Quh92v_po3qESXJ

>>2197 ? What do you mean by this? Do you think that's what I am? Why?

I liked what I heard from this and another video I listened to. Just one thing: I understand and very much agree about your perspective on persona, but I'm not quite sure if you're truly following what you're preaching about. If you were, your videos would be concise to their theme, and not: >my political >anarchist debates >anarchist on >my anarchist love letter >why I'm not attracted to clavicular* >why I don't show my face* *is especially telling. What the fuarrrk do I care about your whys? Now I'm not quite sure, and I will give you the benefit of the doubt, that you're following this approach in order to appeal to the algorithm better. Nonetheless, this is more than enough argument for me to see you as attention seeking wearing an intellectual makeup. I guess the only reason I'm bothering with writing it this way and not dismissing completely the effort is because I enjoyed what I watched, and a lot of your arguments are well grounded and rational.

>>2199 Thank you anon! Yes, there is a bare minimum persona required to present your ideas. The titles are pretty much the bare minimum. Can you help me brainstorm titles? How else would you title them? I agree, that the typical person would not really care about my "whys", because they don't care about *me*, which could indicate that I need to increase the size of the persona a little more, and give everybody some kind of baseline knowledge about me. What do you think? It is difficult to be attention seeking for yourself, if you are not the subject of what you are showing others and want them to pay attention to. Yes, I am attention seeking. Attention seeking for the ideas I put forth, which are almost entirely what the videos are about. After all, my minimal online persona (a cartoon portrait), is hardly reflective of me IRL, and nobody takes it as such. I appreciate your input anon.

cool, so where you discussing things with people? just talking into the void is pointless, you should network and organize. if you want contact, post a pgp key on your channel where it can be verified.
Lainanon · 2026-07-19 17:29
>>2201 My plan is to create my own imageboard once I acquire 30k followers. I do talk to people in the YouTube comments section. Can you tell me more about this pgp key thing? I have only a vague idea of it.

>>2203 I thought PGP keys were only for emails? I never heard of anybody using it for their YouTube channel. That's why I'm confused.

>>2204 It's mainly used in emails only because email is an inherently insecure communication protocol. I guess the anon is implying you should have a secure way of communication at some point. I will respond to >>2200 when I have better time somewhere this week!

>>2200 What I argued previously could be interpreted a bit wrongly. I understand you've been establishing a persona in your titles and videos, and the goal is to slowly erase it. I do not necessarily agree with what you said here, though: >there is a bare minimum persona required to present your ideas Let me be clear, I believe this is true for a mass adoption of a "content", but not true in general. One does not necessarily need to know an author to understand their texts. This is, fundamentally, what Barthes argues in "The Death of the Author", and on the level of pure interpretation, I agree with it, as an idea stands or falls on its own merit, regardless of who uttered it. Now, this does not mean that an authorless thought could be easily mass-spread, because, especially in today's age, a persona is quite literally necessary for most people to even humour the thought of hearing you. The persona behind the thought is usually an indicator for many decisions: is it worth spending my time digesting this? what are the biases of the author for such a thought, and does it demerit the thought itself? etc. Persuasion operates through identification, thus the audience must identify with the speaker before considering the argument... Funnily enough, even Barthes' himself was only able to argue what he argued, because of the persona he had already established previously. We wouldn't even be citing this idea right now if he wasn't who he was. Ideally speaking, and in an "intellectually honest" perspective, your goals should align perfectly with a complete anonymous persona, but even then, such a figure is a persona in and of itself. What are your goals? Is it to widespread your stances on the general population, in an attempt to "infect" a seed of a counterperspective to the current established ones? If this is the case, I simply believe this is unachievable without a solid strong persona, even if anonymous, for the simple fact you will not be heard by the intended audience without a persona to connect your points with. In a more modoern perspective, take Banksy as an example to the statement above. Having said that, the "correct" way of removing your persona from your titles would be to simply state the object in question. "why I'm not attracted to clavicular"->"Why clavicular is not as attractive as you think", "why I don't show my face"->"On showing your face and its consequences", etc. Do I think they would work better for your goals? I'm not sure, and I tend to think not, if anything, because of what I've previously stated here. You are picking a fight in a literal digital feud which you do not control, with rules that most often than not works against your own interest. I like your arguments, and I actually watched the whole Spencer video, which was a bit hilarious. I wish you luck in this project, but I'm not quite sure if you're gonna be able to achieve exactly what you envision, although I strongly believe there's a space and need for the discussions and arguments you bring.

>Watched the video LITERALLY a leaky clittycell. Still, I congratulate you on having a high enough iq not to try and become a lolcow, it's clear you were tempted to but you managed not to (even while horny). >With only my voice, intellectual writing and an aesthetically pleasing painted self-portrait in the background, my persona is extremely beautiful. I recommend you avatar user with an anime girl pfp, it will make your memes 4000% more memetic if that's what you're going after. I agree with OP post, when people care more about thinking that they are right than actually putting in the effort to know things they will have a tendency to fall for cult of personality propaganda or misinformation propaganda, it is the normal person desire to gossip centered around lolcows but with political intent.
