What to watch after Lain?

Any other animes that come close to the greatness of Lain? Hell, any other consumable media such as books or movies or whatever? Or are these 12 episodes (and the videogame, I guess) all that there is?

my first try would be with the rest of abe's work, mainly texhnolyze (most similar thematically) but also haibane renmei.

the original Ghost in the Shell movies are as good as SEL in my opinion. Besides that, I dunno. Not much of an anime watcher.

Subete ga F ni Naru is very different from Lain, but elicited similar (but less intense) emotions on me.

>>917 eh, I watched two episodes of texhnolyze and couldn't get into it. I don't think it's bad per se but it just wasn't for me. >>918 >>919 I'll check these out, thanks P.S. I just realized I used "animes" as plural instead of "anime". My apologies.

I liked Haibane Renmei and Cardcaptor Sakura.

Mr. Robot Protagonist is: - autistic - computer savant - hallucinates It involves corporations and crime orgs centered around tech. And even the choreography has similarities. It is filled with scenes where the characters are bunched into a corner of the screen, making them seem insignificant ( which they are, compared to the giant faceless corporations they are up against ).

>>920 The first few episodes are really hard to get through on your first watch, since they're so atmospheric, but it once it builds steam you'll be hooked.
