Hey lainons,
Do you think any other official Lain content should ever be produced?
Or do you think Lain ended in a good spot and that even if more content was produced that you wouldn't be able to justify it as cannon?
I love Lain, but sometimes I feel like there's to little content, and find myself wanting more.. But at the same time, the age of all things Lain makes her even more /cyber/.

That's a really good question which I haven't thought about prior to this post. I usually dislike when anime series have multiple season though I wouldn't mind too much if there was perhaps a new manga release. I'd still view it with suspicion though.

I understand your suspicion.
I fuarrrking loved FLCL, but I couldn't make it through alternative and progressive, they really do a disservice to the original.

For a long time, I've obsessed over how it's all wrong. I've thought about an it's, to greater effect, redraft or rewrite. Serial Experiments Lain is perfect as is. To change it is a complex endeavour; each it's flaw is somehow to it inherent---weaving to exactly what it ought be. If any change were, many changes would must be; could it survive such overhaul?
Considering other furtherings, no, a sequel won't do---it wraps up too neatly for that. To further it would must expose extra facets. Aut keeping only it's spirit, aesthetic? Latter, probably. Only if by it's corresponding stills.
Even then, a subtle matter---having, sans cliché, a realistic story with realistic characters in a realistic world. I fear the popularity of misinterpretations has poisoned most who would continue so.
