Hey Lain
A while ago, Serial Experiments Lains' licensing has been significantly altered to allow for fan-created content. This privelege seems to only apply to private enteties and residents of japan [1], but would allow individuals to create fan-made content (such as artwork) and sell it (e.g. a shirt, poster, maybe even a PS2 game remake/port?).
This isn't news, the license was changed earlier this year, but I am not sure if this was discussed here before. I remember seeing a thread on this somewhere but can't find it it so must have been in another part of the wired. If this was posted on another board (/vis/ maybe?) and the post died I am sorry, I tried my best and couldn't find a trace of it.
