Lainon lets share our favourite games, comment, discuss about them. I wanna see your tastes
The Oracle · 2026-01-04 04:41
>>8982 Doom 2016: Loved the adrenaline rush. Red Faction Guerrilla: Great physics/destruction engine. Plants Vs Zombies: Just good fun.
Mentat · 2026-01-04 04:47
Can't really recommend Othercide or Screw Drivers due to their technical state. Now I don't really have time but Rigs of Rods looks promising.

>>8982 Why COD 4 specifically, lainon? That one is probably my favourite campaign alongside BLOPS 1. In terms of multiplayer MW2 slightly beats it out because of how busted everything is. I wish more games were balanced by nearly every class build being broken. >>8984 Ultimate Mayhem is an interesting choice over the other games in the Worms series. What do you like about it? I couldn't get into it I'd like to clarify Half Life 2 also includes all the modded campaigns and sourcemods spun off from it. That's probably over a thousand hours of playtime for me.

>>8985 >Ultimate Mayhem is an interesting choice To some extent it's nostalgia, I got worms 3D and than Worms Ultimate Mayhem as a kid, so I was growing up with Worms as 3D game. I re-installed them few years ago, played through campaign+challenges and than some PvP with myself. Terrain destruction in 3D is impressive to me even today (Even if there are games that do way more and better these days, there aren't many that decide for 100% destruction in 3D and other games still use it as a selling point today).
Drifter · 2026-01-06 11:48
>>8986 Gosh... I didn't know you mentioned Worms: Ultimate Mayhem when I was browsing the homepage! I've enjoyed Worms 3D and Worms 4 Mayhem through and through, especially when I learned there was a Frankenstein-esque costume set you could unlock through completing the best deathmatch challenge times. They were tough, but really worth over a thousand hours of playtime.

>>8982 I loved DDLC, the twists really stuck with me. >>8983 Plants vs. Zombies is a classic, never beat it though. >>8984 Worms is always good fun, and absolute chaos, with friends. >>8985 I love retro Batman titles, is the Arkham series worth playing too?
Drifter · 2026-01-07 14:35
>>8985 Honestly it's the only one i actually bothered to play... Not that i have anything against the series though.
Hououin Kyouma · 2026-01-07 14:53
>>8990 It's worth trying the first one at the very least. It's a beat em up metroidvania set in a gothic, decaying mental hospital with stealth sections and some puzzles. The sequels expand on the scale of the game up to the point Arkham Knight is set across three islands of a city and also gives you a tank to play with (don't ask why Batman would need a tank). As a fan of older games you might find the larger ones tedious though. They're also worth playing if you're a fan of the comics, in my opinion they're the best adaptation of comic Batman to another medium.

>>8998 I appreciate the recommendation, anon! I'll try giving at least Asylum a shot as it seems to be the most appealing for me out of the bunch.
Crazy Jake · 2026-01-07 18:10
Here's mostly what I've been playing lately. Rate and subscribe. >>8984 >Factorio What a disappointment that became. I finally gave up on it when the developers dropped their whole dev roadmap and decided they were never going to finish their game. Much later they decided stick their noses into geopolitics over the Ukraine proxy war, and now I feel nothing but contempt over it. Thankfully Mindustry became to a large extent the game that Factorio was supposed to be.
Vasya Pupkin · 2026-01-08 08:55
>>9001 >dropped their whole dev roadmap Guess I wasn't aware of such, so I came without expectations. >geopolitics Was it a big thing? I just saw a donation link on their site, and it's too much already but did they do anything else? >Mindustry I played very beginning but decided not to invest due to heavy RTS elements.
Nguoi La · 2026-01-08 10:51
sorry lains i'm not a gamer so i have literally nothing to say about your picks. except >>8984 hollow knight and tboi are great, isaac is probably my most played game since since it was the only thing that i played as a kid
Aristóteles Amadópulus · 2026-01-08 12:23
>>9003 Factorio was originally going to develop an innovative kind of RTS for competitive multiplayer focused on the logistics of unit construction where you, the player avatar, would control your robotic armies from a command center. It was in the original dev roadmap but they scrapped it. Along with an actual hand-designed campaign.

Fun games. Forgot to put minetest on the list. But is it there. (Also fuarrrk mojang i'm not calling it luanti). >>8982 crapawa soykafjo, now that brings back happy-sad memories. >>8984 max payne worth trying emulated? >>8985 Portal 2 was cozy. I need to go finish playing all the MGS games.
Liet Kynes · 2026-01-09 03:14
>>9004 >i'm not a gamer It's fine, I see some light, plot games so I guess you could be look into visual novels. That are like anime, beyond boobs and big swords there are some good ones. >hollow knight I didn't try Hollow Knight: Silksong yet, will when all dlc/updates come out. Did you try it? >>9007 >max payne worth trying emulated? >>8985
BloodCat · 2026-01-09 03:41
>>9007 I have no idea. I've only played the original Xbox version but played on an Xbox 360, then on Steam with a bunch of fan patches to get it running properly. It's much more fun with the accuracy of a mouse though.
Lady 3Jane.. · 2026-01-09 05:21
>>9003 >>geopolitics That makes me feel less bad about lending from them, i dont feel too got from leeching off smaller teams and stuff, but fuarrrk anyone who goes off involving themselfs in this kind of crap. >>Mindustry Tried it once, not impressed, its not bad or anything but right now i have no idea what is going on compared to factorio that atleast resembles something recognizable. >>9005 That is very unfortunate, fortunate however is i liked factorio so much i decided to rip it off eventually and im working on a project like that on the side. Too tired and busy to play new sorts of games but im curious what people think.
John Doe · 2026-01-09 05:49
>>9009 >Did you try it? no and i probably won't but from what i've seen it looks pretty kewl
Eldon Tyrell · 2026-01-11 03:22
>>9007 >>>minetest That game is actually some good fun, even though I've not really invested a lot of time into it in a long while. It's like the half life of Minecraft-esque game engines
