Cyberpunk 2077
Apoc · 2018-05-02 03:26
how excited are you for this game fellow lainons?
i've been waiting cp2077 for 4 years now and i'm 99% sure we're going to some first gameplay at e3 in a month
i've haven't played the witcher series but i'm just hyped for pretty much the firs 3D open world big budget cyberpunk game

It's proprietary software, so I will never play it unless they decide to liberate the code for the whole game some time in the future.
I went ahead and watched the trailer, and it does not look like a game I would personally enjoy. Feel free to share more information about this game, what it's about, and how you play it.

>It's proprietary software
yeah that's true i guess, but at least this game won't have any drm or microtransactions which doesn't make it that hard for me to support the dev. how modable the game will be remains to be seen but i hope mods will be supported. i mean if you only buy non proprietary software you probably don't play any videogames at all, which is understandable to me but i'm willing to make an exception just because this game will be really the first 3D open world cyberpunk game that i know of.
we don't really know what it's going to play like, we'll probably see it in motion in a month, what i can tell you is that it's based on the cyberpunk 2020 tabletop rpg and is made by cdpr who made one of the best games in recent memory with the witcher 3. at least pirate it if you don't want to buy it.

>proprietary software
i have retarded idea.
Did anyone had an idea to sell the game normally, and then after it "paid back" liberate the code for it?
not really on topic i know but i don't think it's worth a thread

id software (used to, at least) release source for their engines a few years after release, hence all the stuff based on the Quake 3 engine.

But you still needed the game data(the game data is not free) to play those games. They only released the source code for the game engine to allowe non-windows ports and mods of the games they made.

I'm excited to passively read about and watch videos of this game. I can't afford a PC that can run it, and certainly not a second PC (since I would need to run Windows in all likelihood).
Considering how "big" video game streaming is nowadays I see little reasons to play (new) games any more. Watching streamers is considerably cheaper and if the value is in the visuals + story, it's all the same anyway.

If watchdogs was any indicator, I enjoy the silly "cyberpunk" interpretations more than the serious ones. This looks a little grimdark, but I'm going to give it a chance.

Did you watch the latest trailer? It doesn't look grimdark at all

Have you asked Da Vinci for Mona Lisa's SVG or XCF yet? If no, you shouldn't stare at this picture…

Pretty excited after having spent around a 100 hours in Witcher 3, not even counting how many in the previous 2 games. CDPR is one of those last couple of companies that get me hyped after the last Deus Ex game killed it for me.

Loved that trailer but I still have no idea who we play. Is he a mercenary and fixer like Geralt? What I need more is that Fallout 3 / NV tier feeling. I just want to roleplay and pick sides.

read original rpg if you haven't already. Cyberpunk 2020 was about style, not grindmark. I hope it goes in that direction.
