Jim Hilger · 2018-04-13 16:09
I see these threads pop once in a while, but let's have another. ITT we discuss our favorite PS2 games. I just bought a CPU and GPU capable of running PCSX2 at 100% speed. Give me some of your favorite games, lainons. The past games I enjoyed on the actual console before now were >Final Fantasy XII (my personal favorite) >Grand Theft Auto Vice City >Grand Theft Auto San Andreas >Dragon Ball Z Budokai 3 There are others, I just can't think of any more at the moment is all.
John Rain · 2018-04-13 17:29

Just another Random Lainon · 2018-08-04 03:22
I really loved Brave Fencer Musashi. It had just the right level of comfy low-poly style and Action RPG elements. The day/night cycle and sleep mechanic were kind of new to "AAA" games at the time. > tfw, World Console War II is over. > tfw, all the old consoles died. > tfw, you still honor their ghosts via VM. > tfw, the PC was Valhalla all along.

Can never go wrong with Megami Tensei(at least on the PS2). Persona 3 FES and 4: Great stories and characters, if a bit lacking in terms of dungeon crawling. The former introduced Persona as most people know it today, while the latter changed it up by having a distinctly cozy aesthetic, atmosphere, and setting. Both very much worth playing. Nocturne: Best pure atmosphere and mood of the bunch. It has this oppressive, lonely vibe to it, and it's wonderful. Can be grueling at times, though. Also, Dante. Digital Devil Saga 1&2: These entries ditch the demon fusion in favour of a more traditional JRPG party member system, and go in a different direction with their stories. For once in the franchise, 2 is a direct sequel. Raidou Kuzunoha 1&2: This one is an action RPG. Never finished it, but definitely worth noting.

I installed pcsx2 the other day to replay San Andreas and Ratchet and Clank 3, still two great games 15 years later. I also tried Ico, I've only played a little bit so far but it's an incredible game, not fun exactly, but very beautiful. I love the interaction with the girl, I love chasing those shadow things. I will have to try Shadow of the Colossus, as I understand it has a similar feel, I always see those two games mentioned together.
Cat Mother · 2019-11-26 01:10
Sky Odyssey It's a little known Japanese title about flying through dangerous terrain doing acrobatic tricks for 'points'. Apparently, people find this game really hard to play. The story is a little weird and watered down, so don't expect much. I used to love flying around in free mode. Recommend you get the PAL copy over the NTSC one since the guy's voice in the mission briefing feels off. Mind you the guy in the video can't fly for soykaf.
d · 2019-12-10 00:19
ICO To be honest, I saw this game in the pauses of a guy on YouTube. And I immediately felt that this would be the best trip in life. This studio will have other games, strong ones. But believe me, this is the most beautiful place of all the game worlds. And the most impossible. But that’s the essence of our relationship with games, isn't it? :с
d · 2019-12-10 00:22
>>1619 Great to read it here. I hope the studio does not leave its beautiful worlds. I don’t even have enough words for them. I think this is not necessary.

Scarface loved the gunplay and the rage mode
Unnamed · 2020-06-04 12:28
I've played Kingdom Hearts ever since my childhood, and I really can't recommend it enough. It's one of my favorite PS2 games and I always see myself coming back to one of the series' games every once in a while. Other than that, there's also DMC3, an excellent hack-and-slash and one of the best of the Devil May Cry series (though I still didn't understand how the Bloody Palace works for the life of me). Besides that, there's also Zone of the Enders and its sequels, both which got me into mecha in general too. Beyond these there's also Medal of Honor, one of those WWE games and GTA: San Andreas

KH2:FM is by far one of the best games ever made

I played through Atelier Iris not too long ago on PCSX2. I had to experiment with settings but I got it to work despite having to deal with occasional voice audio studdering. It was the first Atelier games I ever played. I will definitely get Atelier Ryza when I get a Nintendo Switch.
