No

I don't usually play recent games. In part because they don't always run on my PC and because there are already so many good old games that I don't keep up with the most recent releases.
Anyways, here are a few I like, in no particular order:
- Baba is You
- Factorio
- Shenzhen I/O (does it count? released in 2016)
Yes, I mostly play puzzle games

I've seen some live-streamer play Needy Girl Overdose. While I quite like the aesthetic, I find the theme a little cringey. I never really got into dating games either.
It's the first time I hear of the four others.

Anon, I liked TCOAAL, but it's a fairly one-trick exploration of BPD. Putting it anywhere near game of the decade, 3 years into our decade, is just wrong.

"Borderline personality disorder" is fake. It is called being eccentric or unordinary. Also, the game is based.
Erik Johansson · 2023-10-24 14:58

The problem with this "eccentric or unordinary" interpretation is just how ordinary the thing has become.
Rick Deckard · 2023-10-24 15:39
You mean of the 2020s, presumably?
Mindustry and Stardew Valley are really the only games of this decade that I've been impressed with so far. Except they're actually from last decade; they just get getting active development.
Willow · 2023-11-11 01:20
vampire survivors hands down. you won't find a better indie game with that much content for $5
Ender · 2024-05-04 00:10
Stellar Blade on the list of must-plays.
HELLDIVERS 2 is the goat for this year.
EVOJP making me play old games again; forget how good they are.

>Stellar Blade
No PC release makes me sad
>HELLDIVERS 2 is the goat for this year.
This I do not understand to me the game feels really bad...Clunky controls, uninspired generic art style, no vehicles, not enough enemy types.
Unidentified · 2024-05-04 16:49
Of what I played and enjoyed:
Neon White
Ion Maiden
Monster Girl Quest Paradox
HROT
Pizza Tower
Ace Combat 7
Armored Core VI
Devil May Cry V
Teardown
In no particular order.

1. Ultrakill
2. Psychopomp
3. Alina of the arena
4. Va-11 Hall-A (I don't think it's that modern but I enjoyed it)
5. Class of '09
Bonus one
It's a mobile one, but AlterEgo is super good, I remember playing it a lot to get the different endings, also the book recs in it are very good
Haruyoshi · 2024-05-05 03:44
Some obvious classics I saw nobody mention:
- Spelunky (the remake from 2012)
- Fallout New Vegas
- Dark Souls
Also THUG Pro if we count mods/fan projects.

Lord of the Rings Return to Moria
Tears of the Kingdom

Oh wow since we're throwing in classics like Va11-hall A, I think i might as well go with a few older ones too.
1. Dark Souls 1
2. Sekiro Shadows Die Twice
3. Sunless Sea
Honorable mentions:
- Shadows of Doubt (needs fleshing out, though)
- Vermintide 2 (best multiplayer coop of recent years)
- League Of Legends (first competitive pvp game i got into, so i have a soft spot for it)
HELIOS · 2024-09-13 01:45
Well, it's NOT Concord. What a mess of a game...
Lady 3Jane.. · 2024-09-19 09:58

Omori and Disco Elysium are the only ones that really blew me away.
Unspecified · 2025-02-01 21:47
Welp, here are my top 5 picks:
1. Ultrakill -> Its been a literal blast of an FPS that I find myself coming back to every few months; even made me more interested in trying out other first-person shooters. Planning to play the OG Doom sometime this year.
2. Highfleet -> Aerial battleship simulator and a pretty interesting Dune-inspired Sci-fi setting. I find myself listening to Tanc a Lelek too much for comfort though.
3. Doom Eternal -> Its the first thing I think of when people say power fantasy. Its also a pretty engaging FPS that brings new life to the DOOM series. I can only hope my hardware can handle the next release in 1080p 60 FPS, now that ray tracing is required for The Dark Ages.
4. Risk of Rain: Returns. Technically cheating, as its a remaster of a 2010-something game, but its one of the most polished 2D platformer roguelites I've played. Simple controls, hard to master, and it gets very addicting. If only it can get get ported to mobile or something.
5. Streets of Rogue -> The ultimate sandbox roguelite. I implore you all to try this because the game is extremely diverse in its implementation of characters, playstyles, and strategies. I'm looking forward to its sequel slated to release soon.

Actually, it was surpassed a few years ago.
Yamaoto Toshi · 2025-02-08 10:44
sort of qualifies: space station 14
it's like 13, but pixel movement and much easier to run on linux and the main devs are tr4nnyf4gs who will ban you and your entire server from the hub for freezepeach (note: i have never been derezzed)
server tier list:
S-tier
- dehubbed space combat simulator
A-tier
- wizden LRP
- RMC is fun but new players make marines unwinnable
B-tier
- frontier is fun but hugboxy
- goob is NRP, chaotic, fun 90% of 60% of the time
- fallout server
F-tier
- delta-V is gay furry hug box (good for learning everything except combat because rounds are so slow, but boring)
