I want to play wipeout. I know some people here played this game Where should I start? What's the best one?

Wipeout 3, Wipeout XL (or 2097 depending on the region you're from). The first one is also fun. Wipeout has always been among the best Playstation racing games. Since the first release they've figured some gameplay improvements and other features. They all have awesome music, graphics, and course designs.

Got super addicted to Wipeout fusion for PS2 recently. Can recommend

All of them are good, just pick the one with favorite soundtrack. The game takes some time learn but once you get the hang of it, it's a fun experience.

Just play any honestly. I started with Pure and played every other one in the series. So if any got me hooked, it was that.

i only played the psp ones and they are good

All the PSX ones are pretty good.

Wipeout 3 was the one I played the most as a kid and it has the most cherished memories for me. Recently played it again with Duckstation and it holds up.

I've only played Wipeout Omega (and put tons of hours into it, great game!) but wanted to also add that F-Zero GX is an excellent high speed high stakes racing game

i like 2048, its on the ps4 and the vita

wipeout fusion is so much fun. i played it on emulator a couple of years ago and beat the game. why do people not like it?

Way too many fond memories of Zone Mode in HD.

Started with Pure after I saw the intro playing on a display PSP at a store since if that doesn't get you hyped then it's probably not the genre for you. RedOut 1 has a sense of speed that puts wipeout to shame, some of the coolest-looking circuits in the entire genre, gorgeous soundtrack and lots of content, but the driving system style is excessively heavy and slippery (kinda resembles Wipeout Fusion), also it is literal orders of magnitude harder than any wipeout to the point it sometimes makes you wonder whether the developers actually playtested the game before releasing it. RedOut 2 is massive improvement in terms of gameplay, and way better balanced difficulty, however the soundtrack is a tragic letdown. They're still both really great games overall.
