Help finding a game

Meddler · 2022-01-08 18:50
I remember reading on a game magazine when I was young a first person zombie game that was similar to outlast(no combat), but when Outlast wasn't even published. On the magazine said that although the game was popular in Japan it didn't was so popular here. Because lainons tend to consume a lot of japanese media I thought it would be smarter to ask here. Can you help me find this game?

Do you know roughly the year the game was released and what magazine it is? That's a pretty broad possibility of games

>>5664 I was a children at the time so I don't remember too many things, but I bet it was sometime between ps2 to ps3 era(this does not imply it's a console game)

>>5674 Few keypoints of the game I'm looking: >First Person >Has no combat(walking simulator like) >More popular in Japan >Graphics too good to be from ps1 era but too old to be after ps3 era >Urban setting, something like roofs and alleys without fog, normal weather(a little gray) Sillent Hill: >Third Person >Has combat >Popular worldwide >Mostly Urban but with a lot of fog Image: Imagine the kids are zombies, and you have to avoid then like a normal human, the game I'm looking is exactly like this

>>5663 The first thing to come to mind is the siren series. It's set in japan, with little combat or none depending on the character you play as. It is third person, but it has a neat mechanic that allows you to see through the eyes of nearby enemies, so it is first person in that sense. The series started on ps2 and ended on ps3, so it definitely fits the timeframe. Other possibility might be project zero(or fatal frame, which is a much cooler name). Its setting is a haunted japanese mansion/village with ghosts, not zombies. There is no combat in the strictest sense, but you're equipped with a camera that allows you to see ghosts in first person. Both series were released in europe and the americas, but never saw the success resident evil and silent hill did.

>>5663 Or even earlier, that might be clocktower, that doesn't have combat outside of one spinoff, you're mostly hiding from the scissorman, but that was on PSX, so too early based on your criteria.
