Hey Lainons, I was wondering what Lain thought about Bitburner. I stumbled upon this game the other day right before I was about to close steam. I saw the cliche black background and green text, and immediately thought it was going to be stupid. I normally don't play Increment/Idle games, but since it's free and open source, I decided to check it out anyways, and it ended up being VERY fun.
It's basically just Cookie Clicker or similar idle games like that, but with RPG-like elements and a Cyberpunk twist. The thing is, it's required to have a bit of programming knowledge to even play and unfortunately the main language for the game is a subset of JavaScript. Since it's also an RPG (kinda?) there's a lot you can do other than "hacking" computers in order to get those numbers up, but it seems like programming is the main feature of the game.
I've only been playing for 2 days but, so far this game seems very complex when it comes to play style and I'm pretty much enjoying it. I'm going to try to do a run that doesn't involve coding at all, because even the tutorial seems to filter normal people. Anyways, happy holidays and here's to a new year Lainon!
