Thread discussing Suda51's Kill The Past series, particularly The Silver Case trilogy, as it's the most cyberpunk of his works.
Post your thoughts on the games' themes and characters, what you like or dislike about them, your expectations and hopes for No More Heroes 3 and Suda's future work, etc.
If you are gonna talk spoilers, warn about it beforehand and spoiler the text, as it's likely that not everyone has played all of the games.

I'm not too thrilled about there being another NMH game, as the first one really didn't need any sequels to begin with. Its story was pretty self-contained and I think the continuation of the series has watered down what made the first one great. For one, I don't like what they've done with Travis as a character. In the first game he's a clueless dork who gets played by Sylvia. He stops being a loser in the second game when they start portraying him as this cool, aloof guy, which made him less engaging to me as a lead. I liked that he was lame and dweeby. Him being a completely unlikable and asocial anti-hero was the crux of his character but that's been stripped away.
Contemporary Suda post-NMH1 feels like he's on cruise control. I get why that is, as he's taken on more of a managerial role at his company, but it dissapoints me that none of his work has grabbed like HMH1 and Killer7 did. Killer is Dead was a total snoozefest with the same sort of hack-and-slash combat as NMH but even more basic and involving, which is saying something because NHM's combat was never extensive at the best of times.
In any case, I'm glad the world received gems like K7 to begin with. It's going to go down as one of the greatest titles of the PS2 era, I feel.
