3ds advice

I want to play pirated 3ds games but have no idea where to start. Is the new 3ds good or is the 2ds better for its price? Do I need a flashcard or is there software I can run off an SD card? I also heard something about firmware, does that mean I have to get a specific used model or is a refurbished one from gamestop/wherever fine? Also while I'm asking questions, what are some good games? I haven't been keeping up with 3ds games since 2012 or so.

I installed the homebrew firmware thing on a used older model 3DS. It was trivially easy. The exploit is so refined and well documented at this point that you're literally just following a step by step procedure. The end result is a console that can install arbitrary software from an SD card as if it came from the Nintendo e shop.

>>2812 >Is the new 3ds good or is the 2ds better for its price? I like the 2ds XL better but I can't remember if it supports the hacking methods. I know for a fact that the new 3ds does tho. >Do I need a flashcard or is there software I can run off an SD card? Depends on your firmware version. You can read all about it here https://3ds.hacks.guide/ >what are some good games? Every and any Shin Megami Tensei games are my personal recommendation. Soul Hackers, 4, and Strange Journey are my favorites.

You can hack all of them afaik. Flash cart is nice to have though. I found a lot of people selling new 3dses list them on ebay without specifying "new 3ds" and they list for and sell at original 3ds prices (ie ridiculously cheap) some good deals to be had sometimes with games, accessories etc. I bought a bunch a while back real cheap, at some point I might go through and find all the ones with IPS screens and mix and match til I get two IPS screens to put in one handheld. Otherwise I'll just horde them until they're less common and sell them, or give them to friends if they decide they want a 3ds. New 2ds is nice too, I got an import in one of the japan only colour schemes, really bright crisp displays but the shoulder buttons feel kinda cheap to me. Thinking about getting back into homebrew on them. Seems super accessible now. Just struggle to settle on a single idea I want to stick with for the long run to finish a project. This thread reminded me I need to charge up my main 3ds and finish steamworld 2.

greetings lainons, I have the original 3ds model. I installed cfw and all is good thus far, but there is one game that refuses to even boot. Blaster master straight up locks the 3ds :/ throws an error and you have to hold and press the power button to shut it off so I can't play it. Anyone had a similar problem?

Last year I bought a new2ds especially for this purpose and I was done after about a weekend. Luckily i had an r4card (Gold) laying around so i could install standard modifications like a new bootloader, lumaCFW and the Homebrew Launcher. FBI and all the other cool things could be installed afterwards. Also i needed a magnet to trigger the standby-mode on purpose that gets activated once you close your 3ds. The keywords you want to search for are :" [3ds/new3ds/2DS,...] + [your firmware-version] + exploit] There are multiple ways to get into your firmware, but i found out the flashcard method is the easiest one. Also, dont update your 3ds-Firmware afterwards. I can guarantee you that it will break things. Enjoy your time!

Are there any other easy to access sites now that 3dscia and 3dsiso have been killed off?

>>2928 Won't post links but search reddit threads. I know someone made a folder. The eye may have some too.

(operators, please excuse me remaking this post, hit enter too fast) >>2912 Are you running this from an installed version of the game, via a .cia? If so, it may be the fault of the file. If you could detail the error I could help you further, although your best case is to download a different .cia file. >>2928 Alvro had a stash of stuff on his 1ficher, but the only way through was going on his google drive files. I have some .cias archived if you're interested, but almost all of what I have are jrpgs from Atlus, Square and Monolithsoft. I can't speak for those sites either.

>>2812 All of them are great, the 2DS is a bit more durable overall but the screens are exposed. I have a first gen 3DS that's still working.
