Has lainon heard of/played Devil Daggers before? If so, what is your personal record? What do you like about the game? Also, what games do you like that are similar to Devil Daggers? For me, the it's resemblance to early 2000s FPS games was pretty cool. The gameplay feels smooth and the shooting mechanic was "different" in a nice way, it has a pretty steep learning curve which feels awarding when you survive longer than before. The lack of a soundtrack also makes me feel more emerged with the game.Overall a pretty enjoyable experience which I recommend for anyone who likes early FPS games. i love this game reminds me of my quake days. The atmosphere and sound design is kinda unique. Hellish and grim without too much fuss. Played it when it came out for few days but never got far beyond the centipede thing.

Never heard of it until now. Not sure if i’ll check it out because these days my gaming is preferred to be either freeware or open source.

>>2573 I love Devil Daggers. It's basically Quake boiled down to bare essentials and then taken to absolute extreme. It's a a love child of 90s FPS design and hardcore bullet hell. It's a perfect, flawless game.

Gets a bit repetitive when you have to grind through the first parts to get to to the point where you have a challenge every time you die but it's good overall, especially for the price.

>>2680 I'd also suggest playing Ion Fury eben though its more of a 2D retro FPS like Doom 1&2

I'm a top 100 player, took me about ~150 recorded hours in steam to to hit 500 seconds and i've about doubled that time since hitting it. this game is one of my favorite games ever and it's essentially boiling the FPS experience down to its bare essence.

>>2573 It's one of my favorite recent games. I love how pure and distilled the gameplay is. It's just the essence of fps, nothing more, nothing less. My current score is 488.

This game is awesome but I've never been able to last more than about a minute.

i was obssessed with this game for about a week, my buest score was 376 i love the abstract horror atmosphere, the sound design really adds to it despite there being no music. using sounds to hear where enemies are spawning is pretty incredible. the controls are tight and the gameplay is twitchy and wonderful. i've always wondered what happens at the end. can you beat this game? does it loop back to the beginning at some point?
