homebrew

hello guys i like to talk about homebrew games. I just started to get into homebrew and im asking for good homebrew games to play(can be for any console). Also any other stuff about homebrew is ok to talk about in this thread.

For me, Cave Story is the homebrew game. Has been ported to almost everything with buttons. Getting the usual suspects to run (Doom, Quake, Wolfenstein) is always fun too. I've been meaning to get into homebrew vydia dev but I've found a thousand excuses not to do so. I hope I get around it anytime soon. Would love to develop something for the SNES or the Dreamcast.

Anyone ever play "Super Donkey Kong 99" homebrew ROM for the Mega Drive?

I used to emulate off the Homebrew channel quite a bit, but modding is pretty fun too. I recommend downloading Legacy XP if you're into Smash mods at all.

About megamari and super marlisaland, that's/they're just another/more megaman and mario fanmade game(s). They are well done but everywhere. Everyone and their mother makes their own version of such things. But there are other Touhou homebrew games. They are just everywhere, homebrew and or freeware and or open source games. People even make atari games that are homebrew to be played on the atari console(s). There's even virtual boy homebrew. There's actually so many fanmade games out there for everything that you will never be able to decide if you are going to play fantasy console games like tic-80 or pico-8, or love2d (lua just like those fantasy consoles mentioned just now) or sdl games of which are C++ made and such or old dos game or WHAT because there's a soykafon of every pc gaming engine and every console I'd bet. They are just everywhere. Javascript games are made, C++ are made, lua games are made, python games are made, free games are from unity and assembly and just I can't even. They are just all out there. There's too many. What am I supposed to concentrate on so I could generate a small list specifically?

Check out POWDER. It’s a pretty entry-level roguelike that’s easy to pick up and play. Best part is it’s available on practically anything: GBA, DS, iPhone, Android, Mac, Linux, etc.
