Tetris General

Any fellow lainons love some /tetris/? What's your favourite Tetris game? What's your highest score in said Tetris game? How long have you been playing Tetris? My favourite is "game" is NullpoMino. It's quick to boot and I always have it open. My highest score is in pic attached. (as of September 2019) I've been playing consistently for about 2 years. I barely miss a day and usually spend an hour or two total each day. Bonus question - what's your favourite spin? mine is S spin triple.

I think the last time I put a quarter into a standup machine, it was Tetris. Since that sort of thing has come back in fashion I might have to look for one nearby. They did experiments on veterans suffering from PTSD and found that one thing that was not therapy or drugs that eased their tensions was playing Tetris. (I'm not sure why but perhaps it was because it channelled some of their tension into the hectic endgame where you're about lose and then resolved it when the game ended because you remember at that point that it's just a video game?)

It was the one version where the ui was dressed up to look like an old crt, and there was a hard mode where turning the blocks also rotated the screen. My friend was really good at that game, and we imagined that a tetris-activated bomb would make for pretty good drama in a movie. Like, it's normal tetris, but if you lose, it explodes. I have been playing Tetris (Tetris on Gameboy, Tetris for Windows, Timon and Pumbaa's Bugdrop Ltris, Crack-Attack, Bastet, etc) in some form or another for 25 years. In Quadra it is less about the spin and more about the cascade / slides. My favourite slide is the Z/S side for 16 clean , but it is very hard to pull off.

Pretty big into Tetris right now, been playing Tetris 99 regularly. What a huge rush! I got Puyo Puyo Tetris to practice Sprint mode to get faster at building too. Getting pretty good at it but having trouble busting out my skills in-game. Just need to keep playing and get that confidence.

I'm on my way to clearing TGM 1. Got to s7 last time I've tried, been practicing every day. Wish me luck, Tetris bros.

What's your favorite controller for Tetris? I assume there isn't a "best" method (or at least not one that people would agree on).

over the past 6-7 years i've sunk most hours game-wise in nullpomino 18-garbage i was really sad when i lost my win7 partition, i'd just moved to a full install of void on a flash but something fuarrrked up and void doesn't seem to have an nitwit friendly way of doing java, so i'm left for the first time in a looooooongbitchass time wo/ my favorite time-killer o well.

Recently I've started playing tetris in emacs quite frequently, I sink about an hour or two when I have free time. My highest score is 1368 which I don't know what equates to in "normal" tetris games.

my favorite tetris games are Tetris DS / PPT / Tetris Effect. I don't have gamer hands anymore so i cant play for extended periods of time nowadays, but when i was younger my highest score was a 99... maxout on tetris DS. Been playing since i had my first gameboy, back in 99.

i've been playing Tetris Grandmaster 1 for a few months, i've only been able to get a S5 rank but i'm still practicing

I'm a big action puzzle game fan but I don't really play a lot of Tetris. In my opinion the genre saw immense innovation and developments in the early '90s that completely blew the original Tetris formula out of the water.
