Hey lainons of /inter/, this game (pic related) is explicitly inspired by Lain according to the devs. What are your thoughts of it?

And what is this game? Where can it be found? Who are the devs?

Tough to tell the title of a post from the randomly-generated faux username sometimes. At least at a glance anyway. But hey--I might actually buy this. I for one like the somewhat lazy, low-poly, simple solid-color shader and phong lighting look. I use that a lot when I'm doing personal projects because I'm already burned out doing nice photoreal shaders and high poly crap off of photoscans and reference for my day job. Sometimes I just feel more free and creative and connected when I make some quick poly-poops and throw them into UE4 or Unity and jump in a headset to explore around. Always good to hear something is inspired by Lain... I didn't check the relevant dates, but is this perhaps something being made thanks to the SEL IP going open for the next ten years or whatever? I remember seeing a post about that on here a little while back, forgot the deets.

The gameplay videos are also giving me a little bit of LSD: Dream Emulator vibes.

>>2171 The low-poly look is intended, I set some of the graphics settings low to keep my potato from bursting into flames while I played. The shading and lighting should be a little more complex afaik. It was an interesting game to play, not particularly hard in terms of platforming and definitely not as thoroughly thought through as something like SEL, but absolutely worth a playthrough for the thoughts. It was a number of days ago if I remember correctly that it was announced by the company that owns the rights to SEL that it's been turned "open source" (meaning anyone can make derivative works so long as it isn't overtly political, religious, or for profit). This game merely draws inspiration from SEL.
