LAN gaming

My brother is back in town. We've got two high end PCs and a LAN so I want to start doing some LAN gaming with him. I think that Dying Light would be fun. I lost interest in the single player but I think exploring Haran with my brother would add a whole new dimension to the game. Will try it this evening if he's feeling it. I was wondering, is there a LAN coop mod for farcry 2? I don't know how hard it would be to build such a mod on the Dunia engine. I'm researching that right now. What LAN games does Lain enjoy? What does Lain think about using a personal VPN to extend a LAN for gaming purposes?

In the past, most of my friends willing to play LAN games had soykafty computers, and being able to play on laptops was convenient, so I mostly sticked to not so demanding games. Some examples of LAN games that were very interesting to play with friends locally: Age of Empires II Diablo II Mount & Blade Counter Strike 1.6 Minecraft Siemtimes is good to have many games so you can shuffle and see which one fits more the mood of the players on that day. My current friends don't enjoy computer games so much, but I've managed to have fun recently with a Nintendo Switch and Smash Bros. Recently I played Touhou Azure Reflections on switch and the co-op feature sounds interesting, I want to try it with a friend in the near future. As for VPN, it might work but for me a big part of the fun comes from being on the same room with others. One exception was minecraft, I had one player on my server that was a civil engineer irl, I would leave the server online 24/7 and we would play sporadically mostly at different times. It was really interesting to login randomly and explore the buildings he did, it was a different experience where we were expressing our creativity in a shared canvas. Pretty interesting, but I hate how the community destroyed the image of Minecraft when it is taken mostly as a children game nowadays.
