OpenSpades

Does anyone still play OpenSpades? Found it to be a really special free game but the servers are almost dead nowadays. Makes me a bit sad. Any you remember this free gem.

I used to play it, i quite liked it, but it sort of fell under the table. Too bad about the servers being dead, i really liked that game.

I used to be so good! This could have been the game of the century if they didn't mess up the community by trying to MaKe MoNeY. There won't be a spiritual successor for who knows how long. Nobody knows the untapped potential of gruesome trench warfare.

Worst thing about this is the fog. I swear some of these assholes are cheating, I'm getting sniped before I can even see the enemy, or before I can see if they're red or blue. I did make an admin ragequit by taking a tunnel I found to the other side of the island, spamming my grenades, and shooting everyone in the back, lol, so I feel that was an accomplishment. IN YOUR FACE, GOLDENBRAIN!

God damn. It is so frustrating when your team could have won, if the other assholes had put any effort into building the bridge to the enemy info, instead building fuarrrking swastikas everywhere.

I really do want to play this.

Been playing this for a couple of days since I saw this thread. It's pretty fun. There's usually a hallway server and a tower of babel server that are close to full. I do wish there were more active servers to play on whenever I get bored of hallway and babel, but I am pleasantly surprised that this old game has as many players as it does. Thank you for sharing this.

Had a cheater the other day, "MrBadAim", he had an aimbot and wasn't even being subtle about it. I'm talking sniping with a submachinegun and getting 20 headshots in a row. We kept voting to kick him out but the other team wouldn't vote, of course. He'd turn it off whenever an admin came by then turned it on again when they left. I kept taunting him for not actually being a very good player, I kept just walking up to him and shooting him in the face, he has the reflexes of a fuarrrking sea sponge and no sense of position. I could probably have kept killing him even if he had wallhax. Finally both teams got tired of his twelve-year-old trash talk and voted him off.

I'll be building a PC soon, and one of the games I'm interested in hosting is Ace of Spades. Would any Lainons be interested in a server for the .54 version of Ace of Spades?

It's getting impossible to play without some douche rattling off 20 headshots in as many seconds, spray and praying with an smg, or popping up from behind a wall with his gun already on you because he can see through walls, or getting sniped with smg from beyond the fog. And some of the hackers are friends with the admins and have "trusted" status so you can't vote them out.

Used to be my goto game when I had nothing but a soykafty PC. Loved the early versions, I think around .21, where you just had the default gen map. Custom maps were cool but servers tended to choose the worst ones like Pinpoint and Hallway. Can't really say I enjoy babel much either.
