For the past two years I've been trying to find a decent Android RPG that isn't roguelike. I can't seem to find anything that keeps me going for more than two days. Lain, have you found anything?
StaticVoid · 2018-11-05 15:50
>>1542 Good luck with that most android rpgs are the same soykaf with crappy pixel art, microtransactions, and poorly implemented Roguelike or Roguelite mechanics. I stopped searching for rpg in the Play Store

Back in the day, the Chaos Rings series was my fuarrrking jam. I loved it. You can still run the original game on android if you fuarrrk around enough with it. Nowadays almost everything is gacha based, so if you can handle those (I'm assuming you can, since the image you posted) Grand Blue Fantasy is actually pretty fun to play if you turn off your brain with the cookie cutter story.

>>1542 >two years You could always build your own, if you know what you want.

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Beamdog ported Baldur's Gate on the android? Also I thing there is also a port of Banner Saga. I don't know how those games played out on a mobile device and are they even playable on a phone and not just a tablet. Also you could have played those games already on the PC.

Anyway, I think I'm just going to pick up a book. >>1543 I fear this is the case. >>1544 I can't find Grand Blue Fantasy, mind linking me? >>1546 I'm afraid it's too small on a phone.

>>1544 Did his image get replaced? I only see Senjougahara.
XERXES · 2018-11-07 22:30
>>1551 I did post Senjougahara, it wasn't replaced.

Emulators seem to be the best way to go on Android. Just load up some old GBA or even DS games.

>>1552 I guess I missed a joke here.

Are there any actual RPGs like Fallout or Baldur's Gate on Android?
Otto Normalverbraucher · 2019-05-21 22:44
>>2010 there's, you know, baldur's gate
Eldon Tyrell · 2019-05-25 07:16
>>2010 I heard some tries to launch Fallout 1 or 2 on Android phones, but without much success.
snowslav · 2019-05-31 22:43
There are plenty of decent dos/ps1/psp rpgs out there that you can run on your android device through various emulators. I'm currently killing my time by playing persona 2 through PPSSSP emulator and Heroes 2 through magic dos box.

OpenMW, the FOSS reimplementation of the Morrowind engine, is on Android and supports mods. You need the original Morrowind assets and everything, but it has a more mobile-friendly UI and runs pretty well.
Guthrie · 2019-06-01 18:20
>>2032 wait, OpenMW on Android??
Yuki Nagato · 2019-06-07 02:41
>>2033 Oh yeah, it's been working well for a while. You don't need the fastest phone, but something decent from the last two years or so ought to run it. Right now it's just in an experimental phase, but the Android port should be official eventually and benefit from platform-specific optimizations. https://omw.xyz.is/
