Stellaris

Does anyone else here play Stellaris? If so, what ethics do you prefer?

I play pretty regularly. I prefer egalitarian and materialist. My strategy is usually to try to colonize a large area very fast, so I usually make my species adaptable, fast breeders, and nomadic.

Just started playing this game. Super fun. I made my guys little birds that breed fast and need space so I can expand the soykaf out of space. I chose a religious theocracy and now all my guys are fairly happy. Pretty fun.

I've been roleplaying as an "Imperium of Mankind" type of empire and had a heavy focus on expanding and cornering other empires. For my next playthrough I will install some mods and I'm going to play a bit more seriously with Individualism + Materialism ethics and have a direct democracy government.

Fanatic materalist and xenophobic are my preferred ethics I try to expand as fast as possible and increase my mineral production at all costs in early to mid mid game later on I take on rivals after possibly making non agression pact with friendly empires I love space 4X games however I don't think this will be the case if we ever get to space. There is just too much resources in the galaxy maybe young civilizations will be warlike but they will eventually learn that fighting is pointless and you are better off living in harmony with the others and these old civilizations will probably have way too powerful weapons compared to the younger ones so unless they insist on conquering the galaxy for a long time they won't be a problem Also there is no point in conquering galaxy while you can live in an utopia with robots taking care of your material needs you can probably beat mortality as well
