Do you like objectively bad games, interlain?
Drakengard is one of my favorite games and holy soykaf it's a pain to play.

muh nigguh
Related to the thread topic, however, I like them as stories, not as games. I might love the fuarrrk out of the characters and increasing fuarrrked-up-ness of Drakengard, but the fact that the game's a slog from every angle is impossible to avoid. As much of a glitterboy as it makes me to say it, it's a good experience and a soykaf game.

My favourite game, right here.

Wait, there was a Playstation game called Red Ring? That is hilarious.

This thread reminded me of Parkan: Iron Strategy, but it's not really that inherently bad one

But this isn't bad?
This is one the best games I have ever played.

Space Bunnies Must Die.
Alison Huxley was beating alien warlords in danceoffs way before Starlord.

I actually liked Daikatana, but not for its single player. Escort quests are always terrible, and that is what the game is known for unfortunately.
However, the game had rather solid Quake 3-like multiplayer that unfortunately nobody really bothered playing. There was even strafe jumping of a sort, which any Quake 3 vet (such as myself) could have figured out within minutes. Lots of wasted potential simply because singleplayer sucked.

As bad as it is, I actually like it. Some games are just so bad that they go full circle and end up being good for the same reasons they are so bad.

> simply because singleplayer sucked.
Kinda offtopic, but I think that Daikatana is a great and pioneering example about letting marketing and hype take the wheel of where your project is going. I'm pretty sure people would've payed attention to multiplayer even if the singleplayer campaing sucked if there weren't such a strong marketting strategy involved into the game's development.

There is a mod to remove the sidekicks.

I just recently got Shaq Fu for the Sega Genesis, and I was very surprised that it was actually a half-decent game in terms of animation/sprites and other graphics.

Dune for the PS2 had soykaf controls, very long labyrinthine levels and pretty awful visuals.
The stealth/survival elements made it pretty enticing though, and I kept playing out of frustration.

For whatever reason, I've been dying to play Real War again. Units would straight up just not...follow orders.
Incognito · 2017-11-27 10:10
Darkseed was the worst fuarrrking game, and Darkseed 2 was even worse somehow, but I'm such a slut for anything Giger I played the fuarrrk out of them.

I love Drakengard for the crazy world full of even more crazier characters. I also do like the aerial parts the most but I found that the actual combat was a pain in the ass.

I really liked Crusaders of Might and Magic (the PC version). People always say how bad that game is, but it was quite fun for me.

I've never ever heard anyone else mention it. I played it a boatload on the original PS1, I thought it was fun as hell, and even scary at times when I was younger. Too bad the final boss was unbeatable
Masami Eiri · 2018-07-05 21:36
I played Future Cop: LAPD more than a reasonable amount of time. I still wonder how I stucked to this game for so long albeit reluctantly to its bad controls and its stiffness in general. I guess a lot of games from the PlayStation era fall into that category, but hell it was fun.
Splicer · 2018-07-07 00:23
I probably would have played Space Bunnies Must Die right to the end if it hadn't crashed.
But to be honest, I probably would have ragequit Daikatana when the sidekicks get introduced, but it crashed before then.

Funny, i just recently thought of this.
The controls werent bad but the gameplay was not very interesting.
I dont consider it a objectively bad game, but not good either.
And yeah it was fun as hell, particularly the multiplayer mode was interesting.

Drakengard was not fun on purpose because an endless, dark drone of murder isn't really supposed to be fun. That was a huge point of the game.
