Obscure Horror Games

Post lesser-known horror games. Looking for creepy soykaf to occupy my time with. Psychological thriller games and such allowed as well. Preferably, I'd like to find games for PC/Linux as well as emulatable platforms (pre-7th gen [aside from Wii]).

Let us know if you get any good spoops from our recommendations. 7 Days A Stranger spooped me good at the time, for being a pixilated Lucasarts type point and click thing, it's quite tense.

Hello Charlotte Episode 1 is a parody of RPGmaker horror games and Episode 2 is more of a visual novel type game. Either way, these are really psychological and feature amazing art.

The Crooked Man and its sequels. .Flow, in the mame vein that "Yume Nikki" but with a more "Cyberpunk" and gore overall fell. >>584 I'm actually surprised to meet someone who have played to "7 Days A Stranger" and the others game of the Chzo Mythos serie.

You might like Darkwood. Top down horror game, very good atmosphere, the limited cone of vision really adds to the experience. Not available on linux thought I'm afraid.

Silent Hill 2 is obviously well known but holy soykaf is that game amazing. One of the best games of all time, and runs fine on pc

Covetous is a pretty nice freaky and fuarrrked up game.

Doki Doki Literature Club! Seriously, check it out. And be warned, it's really disturbing stuff.

My friend told me about a PC game years ago, maybe someone can identify it. In the game you are a child having nightmares while things chase you. You can't move very fast which creates an atmosphere of extreme tension as you try to evade them and there's a special twist where the child trips on her nightdress at complete random. Sounded pretty intense.

>>581 Here is an older one, called The Path. It's based on the story Little Red Riding Hood, except there are several sisters with different ages and personalities. The game plays out differently based on which one you pick. I don't want to spoil anything, and try not reading up on it.

This new game in playable alpha called "Beware" looks good, it's a horror survival driving game. It's a bit like the movie Duel, and reminds me of the car chases from the Phantasm movies.
