Back in the 2000's, it seemed like a bunch of tabletop RPG's had these 'mass' adaptations for the Internet, where you would get your character approved by a Storyteller or mod or whatever. Once there, you'd have more-or-less freeform social interaction RP with the other players, and every now and then the mods would come on to run a 'scene' where real moves can be made. The structure was supposed to be like talk talk talk action, talk talk talk action, ad infinitum. World of Darkness had these games pop up and disappear almost constantly. But now I don't see them as much. What happened? I know Wanton Wicked is still up, but what about the rest of them? What happened? What was the appeal, and why hasn't it kept up? Or am I just out of touch?

Chat, play by post or text chat based?

I play a game at RPOL, but the site mods are British public school hall monitor tier WaffenSS ARE YOUR PAPERS IN ORDER CITIZEN douchebags. I don't know any other sites or communities set up for play by post RP so specifically since Outlandia died, otherwise I'd use them instead.

>>425 Those aren't exactly what I'm talking about. Click around on Wanton Wicked or Fallcoast for a bit and you'll see what I mean.

>>426 I'm in Australia, so a live RP site isn't much use to me, as I keep Bizarro-world hours compared to my Yank friends. I've always used play-by-post.

>>427 That makes sense. There were some in past years that had round-the-clock activity, but maybe you came too late for that.

http://outlanda.com/ We could recolonise Outlandia. I can vouch for the old games' quality, and this is the original owner trying to get it back up and running.
