Yume nikki

For those who havent played it yet. Yume nikki (dream diary) is a exploration game in the dreams of a young, appearently reclusive girl. The game doesnt have much mechanisms, its mostly about exploring worlds and collecting so called effects, which to most parts are useless little graphical gimmicks. The game has a very interesting setting which i will not elaborate. The game has built quite a cult around it(our partner site uboachan to say the least.) It has had a huge effect on some people, including me. Its free and appearntly was made by just one japanese person. It was difficult to control at first but you get the hang of it after multiple tries, nice little time killer. Anyways, it's been so long since I've completed YN for the first time back in junior high where the popularity was skyrocketing. Happy to find a game about a shut-in like me self. Aside from the usual Uboa glorification and "wtf mindfuck XD" comments, I do think it was relaxing in its own manner. Since you're sole purpose is to explore distinct worlds. My favorite locations were always the FC World and Pink Sea. Even though this might be a false statement, I still believe there are indeed strange voices included among the soundtrack especially notable in Pink Sea's BGM. Even to this day I discover new aspects about the game that I wasn't aware of before. To me, it's shrouded in mystery. I tried to "play" this game, but I really like to have an objective. Do these maps even end?

>>152 The maps are a loop if that's what you mean. You need be careful about where you're headed if you're trying to find a specific location.

>>155 Stay away from Toriningens with red eyes. Most of the time changing your direction after a little while of walking will lead you to your destination. Don't be afraid to click on everything, maybe you'll unlock events, items, etc. Most importantly, this is the only way you'll be able to collect all 24 effects. Pretty much just let yourself wander around mindlessly even if there's no concrete objective. You'll be able to finish in no time by playing around. If you get the bike effect soon, I recommend using it instead of walking around. Take it as the bunny mask of YN.
