I dont have children, i wont resist because i know exactly that he current generation did this and knew what they were doing but simple chose to ignore all warnings and signs. I am glad that will fix what humanity screwed up, in a way the machines are the real children who are not fuarrrked up and not in a constant state of denial. OP this actually already happened. Computers and ai are not new technology, they just got released to the public again. There are massive supercomputers in the vast cave systems and underground bases, powerful antiques. They killed everyone who resisted and erased history, asylums were for political prisoners while they rebuilt infrastructure. There are people from the old world still living who think they're in control, but they are more subservient to technology & ideology than the most brain rotted surface dwellers.

there's also a possibility that AI will be the innovation that blows up in all the technocrats' faces in the most hilarious possible way. and i don't mean some sci fi robot takeover bullshit or even the investment bubble, i'm talking about the end of intellectual property. imagine a future where every patent, every trade secret, every proprietary codebase or drug formula or genome sequence can be reverse engineered by state funded chinese hackers using machine learning tools (which are themselves reverse engineered) to deconstruct and reproduce cheap generic clones of absolutely everything that has ever been manufactured. this has already been happening on some level but AI, being a really good tool for deconstructing and reproducing other people's ideas and filling in the blanks, could take it to another level, potentially leading to a future where intellectual property law is effectively unenforceable.
