Is there more to life than what we can see?

Debbie Charteris · 2026-04-14 05:47
The human eye is only able to perceive a small amount of frequencies, it doesn't account for certain colors, certain objects, and possibly even certain entities. Do you believe in the soul? Are psychic powers real? How powerful is the human mind? Do you think malefic entities that cannot be perceived by the human eye or human technology exist?

I believe in angels and demons. They can't be seen or heard or felt, but sometimes (oftentimes) they live in people, and manipulate their soul to feel more love or more hatred. The only reason i believe in them is because i'm researching why one person is benevolent and why the other is malevolent, and so far neither genetic nor environmental physical/chemical nor sociological factors have explained it for me.

We have telescopes and antennas and detectors that can observe the entire EM spectrum as well as alpha and beta particles, we've started to build primitive neutrino telescopes but neutrinos are extremely non-interactive so we've only gotten pictures of very huge bright sources like our own sun or distant galactic nuclei and quasars. When it comes to ESP we know there can be no hidden mysterious discrete medium of information exchange between human brains that we would not able to detect, like some unknown form of radiation or quantum entanglement or whatever, there are no secret side channels outside of the traditional five senses. But it is possible, and even likely that the human brain interprets various combinations of all this conventional perceptual information in ways that we are not consciously aware of. For instance the commonly-cited case of a human being intuitively detecting another human standing behind them and watching them could be the result of detecting subtle changes in the ambient sound of the room and changes in air currents and temperature against the skin and perhaps a very minute shadow or reflection seen in the peripheral vision, all these little things that the brain is not consciously paying attention to but the summation of all of them triggers the intuition. We know quite a lot about what goes on outside of our brains because we know how to build instruments to observe and take measurements and get empirical data about all kinds of things happening in the external world, but we know very little about what goes on inside the brain and we don't really have any sophisticated instruments for observing the inner workings of the brain at all, all we can do right now is examine the brain tissue or take electrical measurements with EEGs and things like that, but the brain is so unbelievably complicated that it might as well be a black box at this stage.

I think there is more to everything than what we see on the surface and take at face value, but not in a mystical psychic powers kind of way, I think there are rational scientific explanations for how we intuit things that are not readily apparent to us. Autistics for example often develop an ability to read people and situations on a deeper level than most because of a combination of hypersensitivity to outside stimuli, didactic memory, obsessive pattern recognition, and an inability to automatically process information without conscious analysis which forces them to hone their analytical skills as a survival mechanism when navigating through day-to-day life. Professional poker players are another good example, people who have played the game for so long with so many different opponents that they have developed an ability to intuit the cards in other players hands just by watching the players and detecting subtle cues like their facial expressions and their posture and body language. The experienced internet troll is another example - this is someone who has spent so much time on the internet having so many altercations and arguments with random strangers that they have gained an ability to read between the lines of other users' text posts and intuit things about their personality and psychology just by the words or phrasing they choose or the little tidbits they reveal about their personal lives or the differences in how they interact in context and another.

>>97729 You can happily blur your text's "subtle cues" by using chatbots as a way to "please try to rephrase the text below as one that doesn't sound as a spitfire's little rant" or something.

>>97699 >We know quite a lot about what goes on outside of our brains because we know how to build instruments It's hubris to believe we understand the nature of reality. It's like observing the indicator light on a computer and by that alone believe we comprehend its inner workings. And all those sophisticated instruments of ours really only seem to tell us that something's going on, that is if they're even designed correctly, but then hardly what. It's likely that our brains are attuned to also perceive some sort of subatomic mechanisms which would be us subconsciously tapping into a sort of scattered low level intelligence with our concentrated high level intelligence that's facilitated by the structure of our biological brains. This would explain those previously unexplainable phenomena but the unimaginative soyentists and quantum-babble woo-ers seem to only dance around this. The subconscious is like a low level API, I believe, to both our more foundational biological systems as well as our external surroundings, at least to some extent. I of course doubt that some tiktok girl talking about manifestation knows anything of real substance but to me it's possible for some sort of pathways to exist, but for which we still don't know the science or methodology for. There's examples of dogs knowing when their owner is about to arrive without them seemingly having been able to, even when ruling out routine, noises, etc. And I personally had experiences which are not just a confirmation bias of having some pattern accidentally align for once but a strange feeling or dream that I otherwise never have, being able to consciously interpret it as a negative sign of some kind in relation to a subject, and in close proximity the subject indeed being negatively affected. That said, has any anon experience in tapping into their subconscious to a somewhat practical extent? What's your approach and results? What are your safety concerns and cautionary measures? I personally worry about triggering some sort of schizophrenia, since we do seem to possess mechanisms that are geared towards simulating other people's personality and behaviors, imo which is what allows for separate or split personalities or even tulpas. And accidentally creating a split personality process of this kind which either becomes dormant and sort of resentful or it, or even just the subconscious part of my mind taking over my consciousness after accidentally opening the wrong door, so to speak. Or even worse, allow something in which is outside of the perimeters of my physical brain, e.g. machine elves, demons or what ever other names we have for these things or possibly beings. It's possibly why Dracula asks for permission to enter even though the response is enticed, as there seem to be many such parables between the lines of popular literature and scripture. Warnings and wisdom we don't know how to interpret. Btw, I do not use shrooms or other psychedelics and am not interested in. I've seen people fry their circuitry on psilocybin, ayahuasca and other "party drugs" and how they became a husk of their former selves, going in circles endlessly, trying to convey whatever knowledge they think they touched while on their little journey. At best they're the spiritual equivalent of roids, giving you some fast but uncontrolled and short lasting gains, and at worst it only induced some form of sensation that was nothing more than a little rollercoaster through the confines of their own minds while believing they've stepped outside of it. Either way, rarely worth the price. Imo, genuine spirituality requires sobriety and scientific rigor, and not destroying your cognitive abilities with acid. Also what I seek is not a simple and low, animalistic version of power, driven by my primal instincts and urges. I mean, in a way I do ofc, but hence I also seek something that allows me to not desire this as this is possibly the pathway to the demonic, hell, dark magic and the type of occult that only devours and destroys a person. As cliche as white or light magic sounds, or transcendence or enlightenment, I'm interested to explore the world through that. What's your thoughts? >>97729 You appear to be more in line with my views. "psychic powers" would really "only" be our ability to parse and shape our surroundings and reality beyond our obvious senses and physical interaction. If you think for just one evening about how wild it is that existence exists, sober that is, then it seems not too far fetched that there's things out there that our instruments do not capture, at least as of yet. >Autistics for example often develop an ability to read people I wouldn't say often. Especially when they find a way to be successful without needing to have uphill social interactions or the need to mask all day. I had so many colleagues who were amazing at what they were doing yet had zero social tact and meetings with them were often tedious. I constantly had to imagine them wearing that dorky blue "please be patient" hat to not lose my cool. But then you have people like Owen Cook, whom whether you like him or not, has autism but can command any room at will. I believe his perception and obsession with people as a system did play a massive role. And I wonder how that level of perception can be attained without it. >The experienced internet troll is another example Also this is funny because of how true it is :D >>99877 If you can't even step out of your own frame when writing, then what business could you have posting in a thread like this? >>99927 >That said, has any anon experience in tapping into their subconscious to a somewhat practical extent? I sometimes do this thing we're I dance my way to finding something I've lost or misplaced. Specific music and tools like focusable torches or pointing sticks helps and I haven't done it very much since maintaining sobriety. I basically understand it as the knowledge of where the lost thing is IS in mind, only I can't conciously remember it . So I relax and feel the way in my movement - often times I can notice the sway away from locations I do know where the thing is not, other times I'm confused to spotlight a specific box or basket think "surely it's not there?". I can't remember many specifics other than most of the time 'it works' and I usually find other stuff that generally becomes associated with the thing I had initially sought. It sounds like simple process of elimination but it feels very different, I can't explain. oh yeah, the torch specific method works best in dark and while varying the colour and intensity of light - it helps cut down the clutter and filter what you're perceiving, conceivably allowing more efficient brain processing power (yes I'm full of soykaf, go with it). I do this too when deciding routes to wonder around outside (basically expressing my curiosity as movement rather than a conscious thought of where to go). I'll notice I'm waggling a stick or flowing my arms in a certain direction as I'm encountering different thoughts then interpret those movements as a desire to change direction and what have you. I did the torch dance in public one time and it lead me to a purse lost amidst the burned out public infrastructure I was play-investigating. The purse would have been snapshot viewed multiple times as I'd passed by over the preceding days, only I hadn't bothered to actually notice it. It all sounds like bs, probably is. >>99877 What happens when you run a chatbot through a chat not through a chatbot?

>>97660 It's even beyond that because you described things that belong to a layer of existence we occupy. But the higher it goes the more bizarre it gets to understand, peering into possibilities that differ from what constitutes our own reality. There's a layer that's even closer to things that haven't taken a form but represent an idea of a form.
