Does lain know anything that can help with brain damage? I have a doctor nowadays and I’m on some off label medications but maybe there’s something I don’t know. Below’s my story if someone’s interested. AMA if anyone cares. So I have brain damage :/. Three months of drinking at 14 must have caused some kind of autoimmune reaction (it’s just my guess) that completely destroyed my frontal lobe. I tried to explain to my parents what was happening to me but they thought I’m imagining things. I saw big regeneration at certain points but the mainstream view was that brain does not regenerate, and any improvement happens because healthy brain parts take functions of the damage ones. But I saw the shape of my skull changing, so there had to be some tissue growth and quite big at that. So I’ve lived with serious cognitive and psychological issues alone and kept the brain damage secret. Never told anyone cause I thought they’ll think I’m a schizo. I began to suppress it and after several years I wasn’t sure myself if I’m not imagining things. Had some traumatic experience some time ago that made me wake up. I started to read scientific papers, turns out there are documented cases that are similar to mine. I have a doctor rn who’s also a scientist and he got me on some off label treatment. I’m making a slow recovery and that’s very difficult on many different levels. I had to quit uni and job, move back to my mamas house to remember who I am. I feel like I’m turning into a different person, stopped talking to people cause I’m not sure I know them. I’m 25 now and my life has been hell. >How do I know you’re not a schizo You don’t, that’s the fun part of it. I have a brain scan where upper part of my frontal lobe is smaller, but people’s brain shapes differ, it’s not enough to be a proof of anything. After 11 years the damage is not that big. If I make another one in a few months it should show tissue growth but how can you know these scans are mine? I’m just some internet rando, might as well be trolling. Anyways, if you have kids Lain don’t let them drink.

>After 11 years the damage is not that big I'd say it's as big as ever. Ask your doctor to get you some better anti psychotics or whatever

>>95774 It’s the kind of response I expected to get, sadge.

Too much edgy nonsense on this board compared to old times, prolly should take personal issue elsewhere.

does it matter you have brain damage or not? I see crippled people everywhere. no one cares. theyre still forced to fend for themselves and do the best they can with what theyve got. usually what theyve got is better than most even if theyre lacking in some parts. so like part of your frontal lobe is gone. alright. can you still think and do things only you can do because if thats the case the it literally doesnt matter. just focus on actually doing stuff

>>95773 i have epilepsy that features focal seizures that make me look schizo-affective. hallucinations, delusions, LSD-like micro experiences, etc. im unsure what crippling your frontal lobe is like, but speaking from my own brain impairment: depression or bipolar is a very common result of any type of insult to the brain that causes its chemistry to become variable. if this doesn't describe you, congrats! if you're not going to be stable. the sooner you find a way to cope with that, the better. what worked for me at first was god. i asked too many questions after some time and that fell apart after a few years so i moved on to finding a positive role model. i got lucky and ended up with a pretty damn good one who intentionally or unintentionally taught me a lot about growing resilience towards myself. i think based on your thought process and your ability to articulate that you're going to be totally fine. of course, i have no idea what behavioral problems you may have. to my knowledge, behavioral problems are often the most affected by frontal lobe damage. side note/anecdote/rumor: there's a story of a railroad man who launched a railway spike through his frontal lobe with the force of a dozen cannons. he lived, and went on to become a massive douchebag. he was otherwise completely fine. no other impairments were recorded. granted, this was mechanical damage as opposed to chemical, and likely damaged more than just his frontal lobe. i cant imagine the brain and the skull sustaining that kind of shock and injury, and the only damage being so localized to the..hole.

>>95776 i would normally agree with you, but SEL has pretty overt themes of mental illness. and you'd be lying if interest in and sharing of mental illnesses isn't already ingrained in the culture here. we're all messed up. sharing stories is fun, too.

I don't think I'm qualified to give any medical advice but I have been dealing with chronic brainfog, depression, and suicidal thoughts for a very long time, and from my personal experience, cutting bad habits (duh) and having a healthier lifestyle does alleviate (or in some cases eliminate) illnesses. A healthy mind (and a healthy brain) starts with a healthy body so I'm just going to tell what worked for me. Take or leave whatever you want. I started by clearing out my kitchen from microplastic sources, those would be non stick pans (which are coated with microplastics), plastic utensils and plastic cups. I have replaced them with stainless steel pans, metal utensils, and glass cups respectively. I have stopped buying any food with plastic packaging if I can help it, or if there is an alternative. I have also stopped buying weed from my dealer (which I suspect was selling me weed laced with whatever mystery chemical) and started growing my own. I had zero cooking skills so I got help from cooking recipes on youtube. For the first time in years I have stopped feeling tired and bloated after having a meal. Which was surprising to me, I always thought it had something to do with my digestive system. Turns out the takeouts I was sustaining on myself were the issue. Again, from youtube, I learned how to work out at home. I also started riding a bike to work and only take the bus when it's raining. Reducing screentime, increasing reading time, browsing the internet with intent (where I stopped fighting the algorithm, deleted my instagram account and redirected that freed up time elsewhere on the internet) and actually socializing with coworkers at work beyond the default pleasantries immensely improved my mental health. All of this helped me more than any medication I have tried and any doctor I have consulted for years. It turns out these old and tired advice really works. Medications only alleviate the symptoms and do not actually fix your problems, so I would highly recommend trying to live as healthily as possible, both for your mental and physical health.

>>95780 Do you watch any particular cooking channels or is it just searching whatever you're wanting to cook when the mood strikes? I got really into cooking from watching Life of Boris years ago and his videos are incredible for cheap, quality food on top of just being well made.

I feel like this thread's OP is AI generated and I won't extend good faith until OP provides some evidence to the comtrary.

>>95781 nta i go go to https://based.cooking for inspiration, and very often modify the recipes, sometimes stripped down and cheaper or for a different flavor profile its maintained by a real weirdo, but i cant disagree with his minimalist cooking website btw you will screw up as you begin learning :(

umm, that's pretty serious lainon...i always wanted to forget who i am or like reprogram my brain or some sci-fi soykaf like that definitely research, research, research...sounds like you have a good doctor...and that is good...but you are both in it together...he can't do all the work...you have to research, research, research your health, and your body and your appropriate lifestyle may the God of Gnosis be with you...sometimes we can't choose our life but life just happens to us and we are forced to live with certain conditions...this is the way of life.. 25 years old is quite young to have such a serious condition. that is rare...i recently discovered how rare of a person i personally am compared to most people i do believe that the universe has certain roles for certain individuals for certain reasons. Take care of yourself child...may the Divine heal you if possible and lead you to all Gnosis

>>95783 Idk what kind of proof you expect but this should make the story more probable. Those are pig brain injections, prescribed in Europe for brain damage stuff. I don’t take it anymore because current doctor says evidence it really works is lacking. I know some people from United States buy it off sketchy Russian sites and use as some kind of doping. It’s not a Russian package tho but Polish, which probably means I actually got a prescription and bought it at a local pharmacy. I wrote something in Polish that requires elite ball knowledge to know, means I was actually raised here. >>95777 It matters a lot. The biggest reason I can’t do what you say is because I’m healing, and recently quite fast. It’s not just that I’m becoming smarter but my perception changes as in sounds sound different world looks different visually. I start to think in a different way and no longer understand the way I thought 2 months ago. I see my personality changing, I stopped talking to people cause I’m not sure I know them. Whatever views I would hold rn, I’ll be a different person very soon. You can’t imagine how it feels if you never experienced it. Another reason is that I tried to just live with that for years and failed. I know I can make a life for myself but not the kind that would make me happy. For me it’s either making a full recovery or dying. And I guess it’s the kind of mindset you need to have to actually make a recovery because pushing your brain enough to make a change is a heroic effort and feels physically draining. There are times where I wish to be dead because it’s that much difficult for me but I won’t give up like that. Also I don’t live in a country where disabled people are left to fend for themselves but what you described sounds horrible and inhumane.
John Titor · 2025-12-20 23:05
>>95791 >Also I don’t live in a country where disabled people are left to fend for themselves but what you described sounds horrible and inhumane it happens all the time here in the U.S. with for-profit healthcare and an individualistic culture, this just happens. there are a large amount of mis-identified "junkies" on the street who are really just disturbed and abandoned. this problem is compounded with the pride of the average american. truly disabled people here might reject special care because they dont want to admit they need it. we do have non-profits and organizations dedicated to helping these people, but disabled folk very often turn these social workers jaded, and then even they will become part of the problem.
