Cultivating a positive vision of the future that can be shared and passed on.

Agent Smith · 2025-08-24 15:32
There is much soykaf, despair, and darkness in our world today. The mood is grim! It's very good and fuarrking beneficial for lainanon to have a future worth fighting for, believing in, and opportunities to contribute towards the realization of said future. What positive visions of the future have lainons imagined that they will pass on to future lainanons? I'll start: - A small ragnarok, collapsing the current economic and political order, upending the digital panopticon, and granting refreshing liberty and life to all. - Money that doesn't depreciate, but instead, appreciates! - Detente & renewal of economic ties between the US and Russia, leading to a new boom time. - Space colonies across our solar system, offering adventure and a new frontier for our courageous and brave. - The opening of Antartica to sustainable and pleasant settlement. - The preservation and respect for nations and national character (language, culture, genetics). - A new social contract, strengthening the individual and family; plentiful jobs, opportunity, and mobility. - Sovereign AI systems that are aligned to their lainanon owners, not Big AI. - Vast forests, mountains, deserts, lakes, islands, and oceans preserved for the enjoyment of all generations. Responsible logging, mining, fishing, hiking, camping etc. - Fusion power, unlocking the power of the stars for our interstellar/intergalactic commerce. - The development of Faster Than Light (FTL) engines and/or transportation methods. - Peaceful relations with neighboring civilizations. - The second coming of Christ ushers in an eternal epoch of peace and prosperity.

Would all be real if a certain group of cartoonishly evil people chilled out instead of subverting, brainwashing all nations of the planet.

there have been collapses of civlization before that lasted for many, many centuries, like the bronze age collapses, and the iron age collapse (the dark ages). there have been massive changes in climate like the ice age. mankind always persevered and found its way to new golden ages. if you only look ahead as far as the next dark age, then it's depressing and frightening. so why not just look farther ahead to the next golden age that mankind will create after that? live, struggle, adapt, find some happiness and success and satisfaction. that's all anyone can do in any age. dark or golden.

Men need to dismiss themselves as they think of themselves and know All things as coming from God alone and going back to God alone. Men have no power. God wins, and you lose....you lose everything except your being made in His Image. Governments and corporations have way too much power for any kind of positive vision to seem realistic right now. We could have a sovereign future with fully anonymous cryptocurrencies, untaxed property, absolutely free information, unrestricted gun rights, legal heroine, zero israeli influence, little to no government. But we won't have it, because most people don't actually want that. They don't want freedom. They'd much rather be safe, or be in control than have a free future. Everyone is either normal user niggercattle who enjoy being controlled, spied on and ruled over; or they're immoral psychos all caught up in the money, the power. Either terrified of true freedom, or want absolute power. Or both. We chose safety over liberty. We will get neither. The future will be a supertotalitarian AI megarape cybertyranny from now, for the rest of human civilization. We get what we deserve.

>>93228 I'm sorry, I replied to one of those morons. I feel even in dark times there is way too much to be learned from and a lot you can improve. You can cultivate two visions: one of a great future off the distance and one of a better tomorrow, always being a better person, always moving forward despite the challenges and doing the best you can. It's hard to think of a good future as things are currently going so the best you can do is build and foster weapons and attitude that can eventually lead to a better society. All of that starts tomorrow. Or today :) But it's hard to be conscious of this and to act properly.

>>93215 I find this stuff absolutely insufferable. Fisher has done irreparable damage with his retarded pamphlet, the idea that we have no positive vision of the future is the most absurd nonsense I've ever been forced to endure. The problem is precisely the opposite! We are inundated with positivity at every turn, we are no longer even allowed to act without the future standing in our way. "Where is your positive vision for the future?" is the logic of investment capital, which is why it's no surprise that we find ourselves forced to consider this as if it were a legitimate question. Look no further than the pathetic nostalgic utopianism of solarpunk, entirely informed by yogurt commercials and animated movies. I forget who said this, but I remember reading somewhere that "lifestyle advertising" is always showing a world without capitalism, the people in lifestyle adverts never actually experience the interactions of cpaitalism, they live in a world without work and without financial worries and so on. It's a bit of clumsy idea in my opinion, but there's certainly a nugget of truth in there when it's flipped on it's head. What we have here is "revolution" simulated through the logic of advertising. Not that I'm meaning to imply that OP or people in this thread all desire or do not desire "revolution", but there is a certain aesthetic invocation of revolution in play here I hope you'll agree. What I mean to say is, we are immobilized by our intense overproduction of "positive visions of the future", the idea that we don't have one is just absurd, we have far too many and too much. Even when we take issue with production, we are asked to produce the end of production (an impossible self-contradiction), and in doing so we become it's mirror image.
J.C. Denton · 2025-08-26 10:34
>>93251 I think positive hyperreal visions of the future only serve to weakly veil the fact we do not have a positive vision of the future. Capital's "what's your positive version of the future?" only works under its own logic of problem-solving, i.e. positively advertise panopticons and a tyrant lifestyle while the weak toil over so you may enjoy your sweet rewards, this is a universal truth present at every layer of existence after all. Build AIs to take the jobs of those who need it and consolidate the self-referential and self-replicating capitalist machine; build robots to take over meatspace so humanity may transcend into nothing at all; sell a psychopathic positive version of the future where everyone is tagged and everyone is a possible consumer whose entire life and life choices and credit score and most importantly of all predictable psychological state and stress level and probability of stupid consumption and relationships and everything to hide the fact you do not have a vision for the future. You do not hope for anything greater in humanity nor see within it potential.

I hope -with the help of China Africa becomes a green and industrial continent, thus ending migration to Europe and like, Africans having prosterity, I also hope this for the rest of the world, I can see this happening. - the USA and western Europe/UE lose almost all their geopolitical relevance (this is going to happen, multipolarity is inevitable) and get closer to China and maybe get their own revolutions. - Even cheaper tech (specially storage), maybe photonic computers. - This is very far away but asteroid mining. - Restoration of forests and geoengineering to fix what we have made.

The old man wound his way up the mountain. It was dark, still. The first signs of dawn would not be here for some time. But his feet knew the trail. He had walked this way every morning for years. Up he walked, his old, patched-up boots crunching in the dry dirt. There was a thin spot that bothered him; he would need to see about getting them re-soled. Slowly black turned to purple in the sky. Now he could see more details, mostly rocks and the gnarled branches of manzanita bushes, most dead, many alive. He also saw some new graffiti on the rocks, undoubtedly from the local teenagers, and he smiled to himself. Finally he got to the top, an unremarkable jumble of boulders. He remembered a time when he would have found several people up here every morning, most of them driven by some abstract desire for self-betterment. Few had done it consistently, and the numbers dwindled as the years went on. Now he was alone, as he had been for years. He sat on his usual rock and crossed his legs as he waited for the sun to rise. He pointedly ignored the way his joints popped. He was early. He found his mind wandering as he scanned the valley below. He remembered what it has used to be like. It had been greener, yes, more alive, but also busier. The sprawl had, at one point, stretched as far as the eye could see. Ever since the reservoir dried up, most of those buildings were abandoned. More of them burned down each year. Now the city was almost silent by comparison; very few cars remained, and most of them were electric or hand-drawn. Truthfully, he couldn't summon an ounce of nostalgia for the city. It had already been unrecognizable to him by the time he was twenty. What he remembered was the people. Lovers, friends, family, even his old boss came to mind. So many people lost one way or another. The years had eroded the pain to a dull ache as he forgot places and faces. He sometimes cursed his memory. The first rays of the sun peeked over the far-away mountain ridge, bright and yellow and promising a hot day. He turned his attention to it, and witnessed the rebirth of the world.

>>93403 It's injectable nanoparticles that go to the brain and establish brain-computer interface that can read thoughts from the brain and send thoughts/visuals into the brain. Originally made "for military" > Injectable nanoparticles are microscopic particles, so small thousands could fit across a human hair. In N3, they’re magnetoelectric nanoparticles (MENPs), made from materials like iron oxide, which convert magnetic fields into electric signals and vice versa. Injected into the bloodstream, these particles cross the blood-brain barrier to interact with neurons, powering a brain-machine interface (BMI). They read brain signals (e.g., “fly drone left”) and write feedback (e.g., a drone’s camera view) back to the brain—all without invasive surgery. > DARPA launched N3 in 2018, awarding Battelle $2 million for Phase I. By 2019, lab tests (likely on animals) confirmed nanoparticles could interact with neural signals. In December 2020, Battelle advanced to Phase II, refining the tech for human use, with Phase III (2021–2022) likely involving human trials Battelle Press Release. As of May 2025, no commercial products exist, indicating the tech remains experimental, with safety studies ongoing, possibly classified for military applications like drone control. > https://ashesonair.org/2025/05/03/darpas-injectable-nanoparticles-mind-controlled-drones-or-risky-experiment/

Nobody lives by a rule-free life unless that said person lives in the absolute wilderness. It is easy to hate on governments today because, truly, it's been a long long time since said governments overstepped and failed their respective populations. Maybe if you want to look into a government that might allude to something better, check Switzerland. >Maybe, but who are you to decide what I can or can't put in my body? Nobody should but I believe it's the government's responsibility to make very hard to clearly dangerous and poisonous products not to reach potential victims, because let's not lie, one way or another once you get into this soykaf, you're done. You may not care about your life but there are chances that you will become a problem for your close circle and one day you may do something very stupid like taking the wheel while under the effect of hard drugs and kill innocents. This gives the government a right to at least seriously ponder the legality of consumption of such products. >What's really dumb is fentanyl, which exists only because opium is illegal. That is not how it works. Once a drug becomes legal the criminals see their status changed and their products are now taxed and under heavy regulations, because being legal doesn't mean you can do whatever you want with it in most cases. Of the criminals I spoke of, one branch will remain tempted to sell the drug on the black market, while another group will even decide to produce a different synthetic drug to sell it too on the black market to avoid the competition altogether with the legal branch. >Not everyone has a good life. >>93404 I wonder how fragile these artificial neural structures are. Their use may be very limited too. For example, they may be unsusable in certain environments, and I cannot see how these small compounds could ever hope communicate with the outer world without a very close contact with some intermediary device. Which means a subject would need repeat injections and operate under controlled conditions. Even beyond fearing for people being turned into puppets against their will, or at least be strongly influenced, even the question of having their thoughts be taken without consent doesn't seem to be technically feasible yet without a lot of contraptions. I've been tentatively accepting of the recent libleft tendency towards "abundance", even though it is ridiculously hashtagged and marketed, and of course very liberal. mainly because it is my optimism in the discoursive turn to a "more libertarian china" and acceptance of the significant portion of real economy that exists outside of law, particularly around land use. Some things I'd like to see, high speed rail from Mexico City and Panama to Vancouver and Toronto. 10x food variety in all distribution centers. end reliance on dairy, more than 3 kinds of meat, 3 kinds of grain, the concept of a food desert should be confusing to our children. a mixed economy of decentralized distribution, gifts, and credit systems, and a patchwork of political frameworks. RNA epigenesis for living patients at free schools everywhere. all drugs legal and decriminalized. prisons and police force completely abolished and replaced with community-based accountability integration like once existed. the freedom we had once, and will have again. >>93251 well said, an oft-forgotten nuance of the marxist argument around futurism (and fisher's own argument) is not that we *should* or *should not* have these visions, merely that they are bounded by history and our own subjective imaginations within it. we can imagine a future without capital, it is simply that "we" is constituted by capital and the greatest breadth of possibility for such futures is not a positively constructed a utopia, or even a platform, but simply the space of all that is not capitalism. >>93268 >>93258 tangential, but i wanted to chime in alongside the fisherite podcast left zero (consent) books etc. discussion that baudrillard did not say that we live in the simulacrum, he stated that we live in the real which no longer has a corresponding reality. we, that is, the real, *produce* the simulacrum, as we do movies and science fiction, which we then consume from the real, and that our children consume as well. all the while, desert spreads. >>93459 gladio and the CIA's advanced endeavors in the illicit drug industry doesn't imply they are really secretly in control of everything, but their presence is certainly remarkable. >[they] control risk-loving men there's a simpler way they do this, though, it's called the armed forces. more abstractly, arguments against the state for being criminal strike me as a little bit silly. criminal to whom? >mkultra, jeffrey epstein these things are not connected and the latter is importantly not a government figure. while certainly connected to the entire USA political establishment, especially Donald J Trump but also of course the Clintons and whoever else, it says something important about the nature of our social structure that these were extrapolitical and extralegal affairs. >>93460 it's reasonable to claim that mass society has certain luxuries that present a challenge to replicate in "wilderness and anarchy" (as if wilderness was ever such a thing outside of the imperial core anyway), it's another thing entirely to bring up a different, perhaps loosely historical context and claim that only it would enable the proposition. Either way, interesting proposals, little midwittery, and I was actually looking if there was a white pill thread around. The screncap is correct, we need to have something positive to look forward to, especially when passing through these dark times. Because failure at this stage is a great filtler. But if we make it, then we will be more great then ever! All that said and nit picked, what are your thoughts on spiral dynamics? That's my personal big white pill but I'm very hesitant to talk about it out of fear that it will just devolve into people bickering about their ascention level while those with high awareness already know. Even Ken Wilbert, who popularized it doesn't go to any of those conventions since it's all just clowns there who do exactly that ang are just there to tell others how much of an 8 or 9 or teal or purple they are. While this is the exact thing that disqualifies you from having attained any integral understanding but means you have not understood it yet. But the people who do, I believe, are the ones who have the potential to lead the rest of the flock through the storm and darkness we find ourselfs in right now. A recovery from a grand collapse will mean nothing if we merely regress since we will just get stuck in the same pit again, even if we survive. Instead we truly must understand our faults and flaws, embrace honesty and true and measured compassion, and get mankind back on track to its manifest destiny to reach the stars. It's much to ask but not impossible. And if we all could stop being retarded just for a moment then I believe we can make it!

>>93506 >Your picture was created by someone who wah wah wah I don't know nor care who created that image. But it does seem to align strongly with my own experience and thoughts. You have contributed absolutely nothing to the discussion. But to explain it for the actual thoughtful people here who're on the fence on this, it should NOT be used as a sort of hierarchy, at least not in an oversimplified way. For instance, if you need to eat, relief yourself or perform some other action basic survival, then you're operating, at least in part, in that instinctual and animalistic range. Where your only concern is for yourself and your own needs and biological urges. This is not a problem per se unless you predominantly operate on this level rather than only when necessary. I think I personally mostly operate on the Individualist and Rational level, sometimes even neglecting my Instinctual side and losing too much weight as a result. But trying to build out my Integral side when thinking about how societal issues could be addressed in a way which isn't stupid or just someone's scam or attempt at power. And while everyone operating on multiple levels makes it sound like this has no purpose, mind that not everyone can tap into those higher levels of awareness, let alone operate in them consistently. The way I understand is that each level represents the number of steps you can take in your awareness and perspective and the problem I believe we're facing today is that too many of our world leaders are terminally stuck in that Pluralistic stage. While Modernism emerged from the Rational stage, the Pluralistic one yielded Post-Modernism. It's where you realize that two people can be deeply convinced of something or die for their religion while the ideas or beliefs are diametrically opposed and so there can't be any validity attributed to either stance automatically. This can help us getting out of a local maximum, however it doesn't seem to get us to a greater state either. This stage only helps to deconstruct, but people stuck there do not know how to construct anything better than what they aim to replace or deprecate. The level of systems thinking required for that mostly seems to be kicking in at the Integral stage, where one realizes the utility in each preceding stage within their respective contexts. It's also where you realize that not every person or society is on the same level, unlike the pluralistic minded people who believe in the Blank Slate or that people and cultures are interchangeable. The Transcendent one is difficult, I feel like I've only experienced thinking on that level when trying to grasp the nature of God. But I think the easiest way to explain it here is that Serial Experiment Lain was essentially about that. We're all connected, you know? But it also holds its dangers and pitfalls I think. I wonder what the reasonable people here who sort of understand what I'm talking about think about this.

>>93588 You can tell the charts age by its example of conformists. In today's age western conformists prioritize outsiders over their own people because that's the present instruction media&gov give. The herd mentality isn't caring for their own group but prioritizing obedience to avoid punishment. That's why they can get collectively brainwashed by media into believing "everyone does this" while not knowing a single one irl. And as they perform what they believe is norm it starts self reinforcing as now they do see people doing it. If they actually had a thinking process and did what's best for their own group they would be immune to media marketing as they would individually decide against suicidal actions instead of following "everyone does it". Secondary people use morals as cover to rationalize selfish actions to preserve their social image. i.e. physically weak preach pacifism and declare violence bad while using their money to kill. They merely avoid fighting losing battles and then moralize that decision as just to limit the fighting to a stage where they can win. The meme where the outliers are correct while midwits succumb applies here. The ability to understand concepts enough to follow but not question is what allows to steer the midwits with peer pressure and fabricated rules. The idiot doesn't understand the rules and is thus immune to them while the genius sees the schemes intention and discards hostile rules. Everyone is acting out of self interest but not all capable enough to choose correctly.
