Lessening zealotry

Case · 2018-08-05 18:30
This fall im thinking of being less zealous in regards to privacy and freedom. Ill be moving to a new city for university and i dont want to miss out on the social aspects. In the past i limited myself to signal/steam for instant communication, but im thinking of even going as far as using messenger and discord as much as i despise them. Being on an ideological high ground is cool, but humans need social interaction.
Pulse · 2018-08-05 18:35
Well, have fun then. Not caring and all. Good for you.
Jens Hansen · 2018-08-05 19:15
thanks for the blog post who gives a soykaf

>>9205 I think you can take this posters idea, and help you with becoming more sociable in regards to online media. Even though we are constantly being watched, and all that, what difference is it gonna make in this big sea of information? You only influence what you want to, and if you take the initiative to put yourself out there, maybe you'll find more people to interact with, while also realizing that trying to hide all your personal thoughts from big brother is also helping hide yourself form other people and peers.
Random · 2018-08-05 22:53
>>9203 > i don't care about privacy anymore > soft consensus cracking Nice try CIA.
Tank · 2018-08-05 23:01
>>9208 > what difference is it gonna make in this big sea of information? You don't know what the powers that be define as "behavior of interest". Watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ErL9zPHdH4A You think you're just some nobody, but you've got a federal personality profile flagging you as anti-gov based on elementary school standardized testing. govs target "jobless gamers & anime fans who don't move out of mom's basement" for psyops, in hopes to push them into becoming "lone gunmen" nutters. Especially if you have any interest in (counter-)INTEL related things, like /sec/. Go fuarrrking read the Snowden files. "Hactivists" (hacker/activists, even just hash tag activists with tech sk1llz) are targeted for covert suppression via "extra judicial" means (outside the courts, outside the law). Don't forgot to poison the database. Just randomly look up soykaf you don't care about. Imagine you're writing a Tom Clancy novel (since he doesn't write, he's just a frontman for the identity). What sort of search results would you have to look up? If you're boring AF, at least help throw up a smoke screen for everyone else.
Chani · 2018-08-06 03:34
Being social is more important than being a freetard, much more important, but don't underestimate people's willingness to consider free software. Have some anime booty.
Gyula Kovacs · 2018-08-06 08:28
>social aspects I don't know how do you imagine this will go, but be aware that interacting with normal users will get old very quickly. I bet you think you'll meet nice people, maybe join some groups, build and develop software together, do experiments or some other activity in your chosen field. The truth is none of this will happen. Only social aspect you'll experience will be drinking gasoline with apple juice and going out to some soykafty nightclub. As for muh communication, it's probably better to avoid communicating in groups entirely. The content that gets posted there are mostly half-assed study guides, homework assignments, ugly code and questions that would take one second to answer, if they knew how to use search engine or books. Also don't forget the mandatory "I don't know how to take a screenshot" crowd who uses their phones to take pictures of their computer screen. If someone asks you for some social network account just give them your email address and politely tell them to fuarrrk off.
Linda Lee · 2018-08-06 08:43
Honestly it doesn't matter OP if you care or don't care about your security to us really. If you choose to drop it and then one day break off into activism with Nazi's, Communists, Anarchists, or become another Cody Wilson. You'll have left a profile by dropping your sec. For example my android phone has been sitting in my home for the past month and going nowhere else. I don't carry it with me anymore when I go places. Interestingly enough, I've noticed most of the ads in it have transferred from being about selling me video games, laptops, and speakers, to being about suicide prevention. Your opsec can also make a false screen based on data guessed about you. And even if you think you've dropped off of their grid they'll just guess and continue to sell information that way about you. They'll guess that you've followed up into an infosec minded group and they'll just go off of a profile made for people like that and then continue to sell data. >>9214 Wouldn't it be useful to bring up Google Hacking for him? If you're curious in what you're outsmarting why not try to exploit the current sweet weak point for lazy stuff like pdf grabbing? You're outsmarting a data type that is referenced by SQL this shouldn't be too hard to break. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Google_hacking https://www.exploit-db.com/google-hacking-database/ >>9210 Source on this? Its not disbelief but I would like to read through this for my own education.
Sipho Nkosi · 2018-08-06 11:44
>>9210 I agree with the spirit of the messages but really, these comments are referencing the NWO. No doubt that schools are breeding grounds for mindless consumers but to blame it on some vague conspiracy and not just some businesses attempting to make monopolies?
Unnamed · 2018-08-06 22:49
>>9217 > didn't watch the vid. I didn't blame things on "some vague conspiracy". Watch the vid. it explains factual documentation of the system that is in place to create federal personality profiles and dumb down students via the educational system. The speaker names the actual institutions, practices, and programs responsible. She's not vague in the least. As for your "business attempting to make monopolies": If you want to paint the government as one corporation, well OK. Go research The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and their involvement with Common Core. It is more than one business with a common goal, pic related. The elite want to have themselves as the "innovator class", while suppressing everyone else into the worker class. By controlling the development and release of new technology the wealth of the world and direction of its progress can be controlled. If you want to see how this is achieved, look no further than the incestuous relation between secretive groups, military PSYOPs, gov contractors, and Silicon Valley: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I7vrqMQgfus This series of videos peers into the "vague conspiracy" that success in Silicon Valley largely depends on you being in their secret club, and validates the generalized statement with a multitude of facts, proven connections between individuals, all cited and cross referenced in the "brain database" which you can download and check for yourself. Perhaps what you call a "vague conspiracy". Is just a broad agenda that's discussed among our ruling elites, the United Nations, Bilderberg Club, and etc. think tanks, and implemented in a local government near you? These wealth-activists have organized their effort to achieve the suppressive goals that will produce more wealth for them. If you want to get to specifics, you can easily do so. Start with the education boards who approve funding and curriculum, or, actually watch the vid linked above. Now imagine you actually have massive amounts of evidence of conspiratorial goings on, and you choose to summarize the action into some generalized motives. Is this what you'd call a "vague conspiracy", or is it just the way the world works? A conspiracy is when any group of people plans something in secret. People go to jail for conspiracy to commit murder, and RICO Act is a law against "vague" criminal conspiracy. So, what's your aversion to conspiracies? CIA released documentation (available on their website) of their efforts to turn "conspiracy theorist" into a term of slander... so, you haven't fallen for their PSYOP have you? > Lain: the world is corrupt! > Lain: Yes, it's a conspiracy between these groups to advance these interests... > "fellow-Lain": You can't just blame some vague conspiracy! wat. The governments of the world are run by corporations. For example: a federal municipal corporation entitled all caps: THE UNITED STATES owns Washington, D.C., which is why DC isn't a state. The primary purpose of businesses which are Governmental is to govern mental states. My point is that: Everyone knows secretive agencies operate outside the public eye. If you don't know what the powers that be are thinking, then you can't make a judgment call as to what they find "important". Therefore, the mundane things you're interested in could mark you down as a person of interest to be covertly suppressed, perhaps by one of the government agencies which have been historically proven to covertly destroy the lives of Women's Rights activists, Civil Rights activists, Anti-War activists, etc. Look up "4th generation warfare". https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fourth-generation_warfare TL;DR: it is the new theater of war among the masses, and the place you live (wherever that is) has taken steps to bring their war machines to bear accordingly. 4GW includes suppression of select ideas... P.S. The "new world order" or NWO is an ideal that President Bush Sr. et. al. popularized: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UVYBDIkgxKo It means a single world government by which the wealthy rule all the governments of the world. One of its many heads is the United Nations, who sets forth the agenda which many nations wind up implementing in various ways, by pure coincidence. Read the UN Agenda 2021, and Agenda 2030. It's not a secret, but when people begin pointing out that the agenda is being carried out, they're said to be "blaming some vague conspiracy" by those who aren't aware of the publicly available information... For instance, did you know the UN is a group of elitist* Luciferians? https://www.bibliotecapleyades.net/sociopolitica/esp_sociopol_lucytrust04.htm *elitist because they call the masses "profane" and seek to keep their "enlightened" beliefs from them. The deception of the masses with false causes to achieve ulterior motives is central to the spiritual underpinning of the United Nations... Don't take my word for it, read up on the works they publish themselves. If you do agree with the spirit of the messages, then do yourself a favor and actually investigate the claims prior to dismissing them as a "vague conspiracy". Case & point: all those world leaders speaking about implementing a "New World Order". Should they be ignored? What they're talking about is implementing the UN Agenda... OP, if you do decide to make yourself public, then do remember not to make any political or otherwise interesting endevors, especially do not work on video games. Video Games are bigger than movies in terms of profit and public engagement. The pentagon controls all Hollywood Movie Scripts: http://www.spyculture.com/pentagon-established-control-movie-scripts/ Governments would like to do the same for Video Games as well... So, just make sure you don't step on their toes ideologically or otherwise. Being boring AF might not be enough to keep you out of the crosshairs. > inb4 ignore this rambling conspiracy take your meds any time there's more data to convey than a 140 char tweet. Conspiracies are real. See for yourself.
Incognito · 2018-08-06 23:21
you can be social and live mostly "off the grid". In fact it's very rewarding to do in-person communication often.
Molly Millions · 2018-08-07 01:12
OP if you need social interaction you can use those services no one will judge you. But be mindful of what you give them. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compartmentalization_(information_security) This is the route I would go if I were you and still serious about infosec. >discord Discord has security in the sense that the only person raping your security is the redditors at discord. Quite simply if you compartmentalize your security with them, by only using it in a vm with a proxy I would consider that safe except for voice data. >messenger If you want a tindr hookup go ahead. I don't really find that many people in meatspace who share my interests but if you have that more power to you. Mobile is a steaming pile of soykaf for privacy so there is nothing lost with two more poz buttons on your phone. >>9219 Are you the boomer/water-merchant client who keeps going on about that the NASA moon landing was faked. People here might be to the average person paranoid but everyone already has their boogeyman or graduated from that history channel alarmist crap. Stay to OP's topic about social interaction and opsec instead of trying to get a portion of Lain ready to buy your crap. fuarrrk off MacDill Air Force Base.

>>9203 At first, this post seemed benign. Until, of course, I read this post: >>9208 And now I'm unironically sure you either work for an intelligence agency, or are nothing more than soykaf poser who never truly understood the concept of caring about your digital security in the first place. The Fin · 2018-08-07 06:17
>>9225 OP said he's going to use the platforms anyway and is still a sec minded person but wavering. I'm not going to stop op. I'm telling him what I would do if I was to use these platforms. Not having social media creates just as much suspicion as suspicious use with it active. >I already knew you were a retard when you told him to use Discord, whilst LARPing as "SRS SEC". fuarrrk off, idiot. >And no, I don't care about their political leaning, I care about them pandering and showing they don't keep your data safe if you're the "wrong type of person." You're either flamingly new or a boomer. You do care about their political leaning or you wouldn't have felt the need to bring it up. They're redditors everyone here already is aware that they're prone to being hypocritical. No one cares about controlled-op like the Alt-Right, Atomwaffen fuarrrked themselves by using something as botnet as discord for what they were doing, and all modern services that are socially accessible as op has stated he will use are like this. I can tell that you're a boomer because you seem to have wandered out of qlarp with your NWO soykaf, and everyone would like you to take your derailment back to where it belongs, not here.
Meddler · 2018-08-07 18:39
>>9226 >Not having social media creates just as much suspicion as suspicious use with it active. except suspicious active use is just *giving* that information away. At least when you're not using it, any suspicions are completely unsubstantiated without more information.
Morpheus · 2018-08-07 22:00
>>9229 Suspicious use is someone who doesn't fit a mold, if you're 21 in college and don't drink, people will think there's something wrong with you. Your lack of participation has raised suspicion. Doing nothing has made people think you are doing something. >any suspicions are completely unsubstantiated without more information Inference and conjecture are used in risk management all the time because they do work. Which is what surveillance relies on for operation.
Motoko Kusanagi · 2018-08-08 07:53
Stop using steam. If you want to be social, just leave the house and go exploring. Go on an adventure and find somewhere cool.
Demeere · 2018-08-10 13:15
>>9203 >Being on an ideological high ground is cool, but humans need social interaction. You need to think this soykaf through a bit more. It's got nothing to do with ideology. The more data you put out there in convenient electronic format linked to your real identity, the easier it is for machine learning algorithms to fill in the gaps and figure out things you actually want to keep private. Even if you are comfortable with the current government knowing everything about you, you have no idea what the government will be like in 5 years, or 25 years or 50 years. Things that are ok now could get you in trouble in the future. And it's not just the government. Pretty soon people are going to start having loans and mortgages rejected or passports denied because of dumb soykaf they posted on Facebook 20 years earlier.
XERXES · 2018-08-17 22:20
>>9235 This. Best way to be social is to go for runs or walks, visit your local library or community center, get a job, and join local user groups/clubs.
