Anime and imageboards: A match made in heaven for losers

Jet Black · 2024-12-10 14:48
You know who you are, those that need to hear this. Get off these stupid imageboards, chatrooms, discord servers, and stop watching youtube and anime or whatever slop is in fashion now. You will not reach the end of your life and be glad about doing this. If you ever make it past the pleasure matrix that contemporary capitalism has billions entrenched in at a neck high level of liquid concrete, you will understand why I say this even better than now. You will notice how anime is literally for pedophiles with no friends or social skills, and that only losers post on imageboards. You can extend this to superhero movies and reddit, religious conspiracy and facebook, and social justice nonsense and twitter. It's all the same dialectic reaching a synthesis of distraction for profit and control. Hell, you could even extend it to the real world with judeophobia and proud boys, or communists and global equality. Are you stuck in a suburb? You have the library of babel times a thousand in your hands, RESEARCH YOU IDIOT. Go live in the woods, leech off city social services, immigrate to your home nation for a more authentic life, I don't care. Just don't make the mistake of thinking cities are any better than the first world typical countryside, or the suburbs being any worse than cities by a drastic margin. You live in a society that thrives off alienation, and you will die one day comfortably numb if you don't wake up. It of course goes much deeper than the following, but especially for you Americans: if you touch the commodity virus with passive acceptance, you've already given it control over you. fuarrrk all of you, I hate all the days I spent on these websites and watching these idiotic japanese cartoons, and hanging out with braindead idealistic communists, nazis, and trans people. If you think I hate any of these people too, you're dead wrong. The point is to live a life where your values aren't in conflict with a social organization that is inherently in conflict with your individuality. If you have an ideology or dogmatic view on any concern that's out of your reach, you've already failed.

why be a "sucess " when you can be elden lord
Anonymous · 2024-12-10 15:41
>This post Damn OP, too based for this schizo/autistic imageboard, thanks for telling people here, I pratically had these same thoughts on the back of my head for some time but couldn't properly synthesize in such summarized way. Also, I just visit this soykafty place because I just like Lain (The anime) and reading SOME of the discussions in here related to modern culture, but other than that this imageboard can totally go to hell and I wouldn't care less honestly. It's a shame it has the "Lain" name attached to it, the anime itself is great, it deserved better...

You sound like you tried to say something of substance but it's just some incomprehensible word salad and rant in the end likely from your own frustrations with yourself.
Citric Cricket · 2024-12-10 17:00
>>86293 I understand your frustration—the noise, the superficiality of this culture is suffocating. Escaping it entirely isn’t a solution; it’s just shifting the problem elsewhere. Even if you manage to evade this filth, you’re still not really living an authentic life; you just suffer in a different way. The choices are bleak: stay caught in the distractions or isolate yourself and feel the emptiness even more acutely. It’s all a matter of trading one form of suffering for another. Choose.

Why limit it to media consumption? Every form of product that isn't a useful tool is someone competing for your attention to siphon resources from you. There is no real difference if you waste your time on junk food, neetflix, gaming, drugs, ... you always giving resources away for momentary happiness. Even trolling online is likewise just attention whoring from people lacking real social interaction.

An issue I see with posts like these is that they often misunderstand the purpose of the net as a memetic two-way highway and these symbols as dualistic entities feeding off foreign misery for self-replication. Imageboards (and adjecents) are the last nest of mainstream counter-culture and anime becomes a venue for spreading and replicating anti-systemic thought on many bases. Pedophilia is a simple one. Look at where you're making your post (key to sentience is self-reference) and yet look at the language you're using. I'd argue death to all controllers but they're just a part of the process of idealization. Just make the point that you shouldn't let these, or anything, consume you, though that's both the fate of many and something that in dialectical process self-corrects with time. By then the work is done. The hedonic treadmill is not exponential. All then is to practice power and self-reliance, and to move beyond you if you can.

I will keep visiting this board just for these teen angst posts disguised as deep thoughts. It's clear that you are also caught up in those false paradigms yourself without realizing or trying to convince you otherwise otherwise you wouldn't attempt to go on these sort of tirades to lecture others you believe to be not as intelligent and enlightened as you are. And while I believe I understood what you tried to convey here and I agree with the issue of the opiatic use of the internet, media and products, it still sounds to me like misguided anger which you are possibly having with your own situation. If not, post hut in the woods. >>86304 This guy gets it. The internet, unlike television and other media before isn't just one where you're a mute consumer of whatever if shoved down your throat. As a testament to this, you and I and everyone else, for better or worse, can send distilled fragments of their identity back into this aether. A first step to build a global consciousness, bypassing the preying grasp of those systems which want you to just stay in your place, isolated and obedient. The feds and corpocrats really hate when you think for your self and then have channels available to you to broadcast those thoughts and insights unfiltered to anyone caring to read, be it on the other side of the globe at the speed of information. Isn't that a core part of SEL? The memetic warfare is real and active and you wish to throw away one of most potent tools? I know seems funny but image boards, due to their structure are accidentally the most conductive for a free discussion of ideas. People are free to be wrong without a name and an updoot history attached to their ideas. What remains in focus is the content of their posts. That's how difficult and complex discussions should be held but people are too emotional and ideological to separate the person from their contribution. I mean what's next? Close my eyes and pretend everything's fine while I get an ear tag tacked on and led further into the slaughter house? That said, I appreciate your concern for me and others but believe me, I'm fine. At least as fine as circumstances allow for it while I'm directing as much of my abundant energy and time at figuring out how to get more people defiant against these molochian forces through these means and others. Present day, present time.

>>86305 I've only benefitted from being online, OP is probably some teen or maybe at most early 20s who didnt get to experience the internet properly on what it can be. It's a way to be truly yourself and exchange information with people you otherwise never eould have had contact with. The current state is a distortion caused by a corporate lens where masses of people have been brainwashed by algorithms and resulting counter cultures turning into cults as a reaction to this. Anime was always something appealing to people on the outside of society, it being normified into mainstream is just an accident of increasing monopolies in the US.

Posts like these are made by braindead morons who project their own destructive behavior onto the world and then give "advice" about how to not end up like them. Not even considering that the things you listed are not the problem at all, oh I guess I'll quit the small discord server I use for discussing math problems few times a week just because you don't know how to use tools that are available and can only go to extremes. You aren't saving anyone by this post, you're just rambling like a drunken dumbass down the street. Keep these thoughts to yourself or post in the vent thread if you need to let it out.

>>86293 >>86296 this is an imageboard focused on programming, technology, privacy and security you can't program, you have no skills or useful contributions to make, /hum/ and /r/ is all you can access and all you can spew is some random projection this isn't 4chan, did you get filtered by the captcha?

>>86316 I miss when people knew to keep their opinions to themselves and we got to focus on all the stuff we like more when talking online instead of trying to chase off morons who in past would just get derezzed for being disruptive
Nobody special · 2024-12-20 06:51
>>86316 He isn't talking to you. You are using the tool in a responsive manner. He is talking about people substituting real life with discord, wasting time on nonsense.

>>86552 The guy who spends his time sharing memes online is the same fool who gets drunk at the party trying to impress how much they can drink. Its people begging for attention. IRL vs online doesnt matter, its a character issue.

>>86293 I don't have any friends. Imageboards offer me the only form of social interaction.
Nobody important · 2024-12-23 21:00
>>86574 I'm in the same boat, the only social interaction I have is through these boards, the problem with this now is that most boards and the internet in general has become very polarized and toxic slowly the past decade and a half, and communicating exclusively with chuds and trannys online is not good at all for anyone, thankfully I don't let it affect me that much, I just miss when we went online to talk about anime, games and had fun, but i guess most of that is ruined
Frank Garza · 2024-12-24 05:41
>>86555 Sharing memes online isn’t a problem unless you’re sitting there 24/7 and letting it consume your life. Me sharing funny images to my friend group for a quick laugh isn’t world ending. What is it with this recent wave of nihilism where people blame anime and the internet for their own personal failures and try to drag others down with them?

>>86574 >>86649 Me too, though I'm mostly an observer on imageboards, and I was able to meet new people on such spaces but communication was mostly boring or we didn't really get along well, regardless of tolerating other beliefs really. What's worse is that I don't even have real hobbies I can share with others, even games, anime, politics and music are just not stuff I'm into that much, and I'm not saying this to flex or anything but that's just how I am (I had only a very few preferences, but those were stuff I've finished a long time ago, and everything else seems too boring and uninteresting to me.) Being a loner can be a blessing really, I can feel free to do whatever I want without letting others suffocate me, even when, deep down, sometimes I can yearn for connection, but it's mostly only when I'm down to get a quick relief. Though I can't really relate "that much" to virtually anyone to the point where I can establish an actual friendship.

>>86293 You make a couple good points OP, but I think psuedoanonymity and a place for open thoughts and ideas has been a very enriching part of my life. If I were to die today, I would absolutely not regret anytime I spent on image boards. Not 2007 on 4chan and not 2024 on lainchan. Actually some of the most fun of my life, and some of the most fun people in my life, I met through the early days of image boards. I think people who browse image boards today are part of a certain culture. It is not "communists, nazis, and trans people" But rather, they are part of a culture that wants to discuss ideas without a name attached. That is the difference between reddit, twitter, and whatever else, and what we have here. Here, reputation does not matter. What matters is your thoughts. I think image board and this style of a decentralized and open internet of ideas has been one of the greatest blessings of my life. And if I died of a heart attack right now, I'd laugh at the fun times spent on image boards with my last oxygenated brain cell. I'm sorry that you feel the way you do, but maybe it wasn't all bad.

I've spent a lot of time in both and cities are better The fetishization of countryside is wack
