Why do people continue to go on?
Nobody important · 2024-11-05 10:55
I just dont get it honestly. It seems to me when i look at modern day society there is no encouragement, there's no benefit of having children whatsoever, the so called leaders are high off money plotting schemes just to murder populations.
Meanwhile people just go on about their days, nothings a matter, If millions just quit on the spot something would actually happen itd just put a giant wrench in everything itd be like a cosmic event.
Issue is, why do people continue to support this useless wrenched garbage of a planet in its ongoing scheme of controlled demolition.
Why do we pay rent to people who hate us? Why do people support brands who dont care for them?
Why do we still support useless fat cat politicians who have enough money to do drugs everyday?
So many questions but no good answer besides maybe human mentality?
Will the fake people ever wake up?

>Will the fake people ever wake up?
No. The vast majority of people are too cowardly - or just too comfortable/self-preserving, and incapable of envisioning any other way of life - to ever do anything about the state of the world. People would rather accept their 'fate' of, for example, raising their family out of a tent or car in the future, than to forgo having children for the sake of a life spent attempting to prevent that societal fate. Let alone for the sake of something 'spicy' and self-sacrificial.
Just because the masses have access to showers and smartphones now, doesn't mean their constitution is that much better than medieval peasants. In fact, you could argue those peasants were relatively more capable of cognition and comprehension than people today, in certain aspects at least.
Every great change and innovation has always been the work of individuals, or at most 1-2% of the population. Never waste your time waiting for that 95%+ of the population to 'wake up'.
In fact, it's not even specifically about 'waking up'. Just look at post-Soviet Russia, or Mexico, for example; virtually everyone there knows by now the system/society they're living in. But, just because they're conscious of it, doesn't mean they're not also too demoralized, too disconnected, and too self-preserving to actually *do* anything about it.
It's a bit of a meme term imo, but this is what Adam Curtis was referring to by 'Hypernormalization'.

There is nothing that could be done by an individual that would be significant enough to change things. What is needed is coordination on a scale that isn't going to occur. If an attempt is made, the group will be infiltrated and destroyed.

>there's no benefit of having children whatsoever
if you need a material incentive to have kids, maybe you shouldn't have kids...
>Issue is, why do people continue to support this useless wrenched garbage of a planet in its ongoing scheme of controlled demolition.
Stopping would be chaotic and scary. Also a lot of people are heavily invested in it and are scared of sunk costs.
>Why do we pay rent to people who hate us?
Because if we don't people with guns will come kick us out. It would take an actual army to force them to stop.
>Why do we still support useless fat cat politicians who have enough money to do drugs everyday?
Most people don't, the system is set up so that status quo nepo babies are fast-tracked while genuine challengers are constantly fighting an uphill battle.

>Most people don't, the system is set up so that status quo nepo babies are fast-tracked while genuine challengers are constantly fighting an uphill battle.
Then why do you have people fighting about x politician will save us, why do a majority of people go line up for elections to vote for politician.
>Why do we pay rent to people who hate us?
Because if we don't people with guns will come kick us out. It would take an actual army to force them to stop.
We could just stop everything just leave the apartments in mass numbers
>there's no benefit of having children whatsoever
if you need a material incentive to have kids, maybe you shouldn't have kids...
Then how are people going to afford it now? This is why birth rates are falling around the world besides in 3rd world areas where tribes and communes exist in huge numbers.
Anamika · 2024-11-05 22:19
Society runs off of illusion and belief.
People spend 13 years sitting at a school desk being indoctrinated into the system and most cannot escape it.
Now that the veil is being lifted people keep going simply because of inertia these days.
If the world wasn't ending soon people would start dropping like flies.

Lately i've been agreeing with you OP. check this thought experiment out: every time some voice says "you should", ask why. after receiving the apparent answer, ask why again for another.
If you keep asking why enough times you'll eventually end up on "i don't know" or "for God". for reals, try it.
>why should i have a job?
<well if you don't have a job you don't get paid.
>why would i want money?
<to buy all sorts of things such as food and housing.
>why would i want these?
<because without food you starve and without housing you're homeless.
>why would i want food? why would i want not being homeless?
<if you don't have food you starve. if you're homeless things just suck i guess.
Works out so far!
>what if i don't care about starving? what if i don't care that i'm homeless?
<uhh, starving hurts i guess? if you're homeless you can be cold and get rained on?
>what if i don't care about pain? what if i don't care about cold or rain?
<uhhh... sure, but you're just going to be miserable that way.
>what if i don't care about being miserable?
<well...
Anyone want to continue this? I contend that the next answer sounds a little bit like "I don't know" or "God's plan", please prove me wrong!

If you don't care about being miserable then why not enjoy life to the fullest then? Go for dangerous hobbies or objectives in life. After all you yourself said you don't care about being miserable so that just means you can go after all the things that require pain to achieve.

What this nigga right here says is on spot, except id say its more than 95% that are idiot normgroid cattle useless eaters.
The world and people are as mechanical as machines, its a mental model of just instantly accepting the given situation and not questioning but simply reacting.
This society is in fact a kind of collective machinery that runs on some sort of broken mental model that produces self satisfaction for its members at the cost of resources and you can see this on every layer.
It became obvious to me past 2020 when people took those mrna gene therapy shots for a non existing virus, despite all the warnings and risks well known, even at that time and broadcasted, people en mass have decided to cooperate with this broken system to save their own asses, but they were given a socially acceptable excuse to use before hand.
People will always rather accept a cheap thoughless comforting lie than struggle with hard complex concepts.
All the indviduals who are not of the sort of mentality can do is use the delusions of people to steer the outcome of false beliefs in their favor.
I mean just look at the trump situation, he is the perfect candidate for the non neoliberals, that is why some people love him, he puts up a perfect show for those followers would like to think of the situation like.
While at the same time it is public knowledge that trump collaborated with his "opponents", he even gave a commendation to fauci, he never needed to do this, yet he did but somehow that flew under the radar not mention all the other stuff he could have done and said he would but never did and the things he did but never had to.
The world is a hall of mirrors reflecting peoples lying nature, the ones people lie to most is themselfs and now with global war, plagues, famine and much worse approaching most humans still seek refuge in their false misplaced beliefs and nothing but tears will come out of it.
As the walls of modern civiliztion keep crumbling on the people who built them im sure eventually the foundations that keep this all going will go down the drain too.

>Then why do you have people fighting about x politician will save us
That's actually a very small minority. Most are either checked out or only voting *against* the other guy.
>why do a majority of people go line up for elections to vote for politician.
it's a civic duty
>We could just stop everything just leave the apartments in mass numbers
Good luck convincing people to leave all of their material possessions behind.
>Then how are people going to afford it now?
By having a village? Poor people still have kids and quite frequently they turn out fine. People complain about the cost of having a kid because they don't want to rely on their neighbors or sacrifice their time and money, and again, those people shouldn't be having kids anyway.
The fact that more people are thinking like that is pretty worrying, though.

In terms of height and tooth health, the average now is certainly higher.

True! People waking up does not always improvements make.

If you don't care about being miserable, go for it. Most people do, and the question is about why most people do hat they do, not why you specifically do what you do. In fact for all the talk, you probably do care about being miserable.

Its why i threw everything in life away. I just dont believe in supporting in something that i dont like or it does not like me.
Having a job full time somewhere seems miserable if you dont have something you actually like which anything above min wage requires degrees which i dont have.
Another issue is there is a huge not hiring event going on in alot of places I think places are near broke but dont want to admit it yet

We go on because we have all sorts of involuntary survival behaviors in our genetic makeup. The only reason for that is because organisms with the random genetics mutations that increased the chance for survival were more likely to survive. There's no real meaning, purpose, or plan to it. Why is water wet? That's just how it is.

Because they have friends, family and there’s a senses of meaning that comes with that. Rich powerful people are so far away from everyday life that they don’t seem to matter. I guess you’re lonely like most people on this site. Those far fetched conceptualizations in this thread don’t mean anything, just young lonely people lost in their thoughts. You can criticize the world and even try to change it and still have a family, someone to love and depend on and be happy that way.
