Weak Minded People
Technician · 2024-09-28 15:12
Something I've learned as I've grown older is that there are many people in this world that are 'weak minded" - incapable of making decisions for themselves. I talk to a lot of people online and on a daily basis I encounter people who are extremely passive, and just want you to tell them how to think.
>Anon should I buy this product?
<How about you do some research and make up your own mind?
This isn't an online only thing either, I have talked to a growing number of people who think like this, and it just baffles me.
Why does this happen and why does it feel like I am the only person willing to think for myself, or to at least do basic research on a subject before making a decision?
Tank · 2024-09-28 15:42
>incapable of making decisions for themselves.
Harsh but true.
Also there's nothing wrong with seeking advice or a second opinion or getting info from someone who's more knowledgeable. But yeah incapable of making decisions is the ultimate cowardice. How to overcome this?

Before 911 people were much more capable and willing of having their own ideas and thoughts and even being somewhat "independent" and "rebellious".
Critical mass of fluoride in the water, recycled piss antidepressants in the water, airwave pollution from telecommunications, overwhelming propaganda, and vaccines killed the spark in most people.

People who are more social by nature tend to ask one another for advice, and try to give good advice. People who are less social tend to figure everything out for themselves. There are advantages and disadvantages to both.

I basically consider them NPCs at this point. Yes, I am aware of the nuances one could consider, but NPC is functionally equivalent to anything else you could hold in mind.
It was the first thing I noticed when I started using the internet. Some people are missing something, and it's a binary matter, either you've got it or you don't and the ones that don't never change. I broke down in mechanistic, procedural, borderline architecture and step by step terms what they were doing and how they ought to be thinking and why. I can hear it now, "no one likes to be told how to think!" That's an NPC thing to say, or something people say to run away from the existence of NPCs. No, when people tell me this that or the other I can break it down and consider it. They can't. They just provide scripted chat-GPT like "I mad, u insult!!!" type output to deflect and give you the run around. I started to do reverse engineering on them, black box testing. I traced a number of key traits and vulnerabilities.
The thing about the meme portrayal of using psychology to manipulate is another NPC fantasy. I don't even bother. At this point I actually despise their mere presence, these pretend humans, these miserable empty vessels. I don't want to architect and internalize some stupid fuarrrkin' game around exploiting their weakness or playing shepherd, I just want them to shut the fuarrrk up and leave me alone. It took a long time and a complex conditioning process, but at this point it's basically somatic. When I encounter them there's a tortue induced trauma barrier and the body and mind go into this other state, where I can't override it. It's so obnoxious because you might as well be talking to an AI chatbot, and yet I still desire to punish, and inflict pain, pain, pain, pain, PAIN, until they change or stop emitting their soykafheaded output entirely. It's become my own personal trials, temperence is a virtue.... I was really whittled down and hammered into a specific shape till I left the body completely. Imagine whole body burning pain, your face and scalp feel like it's being crushed and dipped in acid, eating makes it so much worse you can barely function, you can't shower or it knocks out for what could be days, eating causes your blood pressure to drop, blood would pool in the limbs which turned dark red and took on a leathery texture and would burn and burn and burn, your face would burn and burn and burn, your heart would pound at 130, 140 bpm for fuarrrking hours on end, would not stop, temperature changes, more pain, humidity, pain, rain, pain, pain pain pain pain endlessly. And you're surrounded by these fuarrrking human shaped OBJECTS, they attack you relentlessly, you are trying to fix the world and they deny anything is wrong. Gradually, I learned they were not only basically another species, but they were completely hollow. Human trash. In the way. And in that sense, because they simply do what everyone else is doing and follow a simple script, they were pure evil. Because the world is pure evil, and they are the world. And yet I still tried, and tried, and tried. I could never force human behavior out of them. I remember at one point even feeling a certain desperation, someone, anyone, just say something that makes sense, do something, say something REAL. No. Never came. It's a deeply conditioned reflex, I hate them. Something in me says make it hurt in a way they'll never forget, they should all be maimed until they understand, or at the very least, can no longer mount unwanted behavior of any kind. They will still be disgusting empty trash broken down to the core, but at least they will have been pruned down to where they will grow properly.
It's been hard. I have been trying to break down these reflexes. The problem is that malice stems from unconditional love. I cared too much, and this is why I am capable of hating them so deeply, and got tricked and lured into the fixation on fixing them and this place. Just let it go... have compassion. Don't expect to just trash their everything until they're remade. Look around, covid changed things, covid changed people? Barely. They're the same thing in a new way. It didn't work. They still don't get it. But maybe them getting it was never the point. Seeing them not get it, I am slowly beginning to get it. Not just knowing, but truly realizing, and accepting. So I can have both separation and compassion. I had given them everything they needed to fix this place on a silver platter, they rejected it, many attacked me. If you want i9t done right do it yourself, focus on yourself, become a solipsist in the truest sense. Stop worrying about what they're doing, you already know what they are, it's not a surprising. Can't make them into something they're not. It simply does not work... and NPC is just an NPC. Can't give them a soul, not through conditioning, not through mind shattering or torture, not through dialogue. Nope. They simply respond to threat and temptation relative to their perceived security in the herd. They're cattle, it's true. This herd security impulse drives everything they do.
Terzibashjian · 2024-09-29 01:39
>>84275
Actually the key takeaway I would provide for this is that some people are basically here to follow others. So I am foolish for hating them, they're here for me, just within certain parameters. n I'm general purpose, they are not, nor can they synthesize all that well. But why should they? That's what I'm here for. I think this is some metaphysical, ontological truth. It can be grown within, or otherwise forcibly constrained to the as above so below framework where Earth is basically one great mind, one great body, and some people are highly differentiated into this or that cell type. But ultimately it's misleading and just a heuristic, sort of overlay, conceptualization mapped onto the real Truth, the real basis.
That was the other thing that drove me insane. One step ahead, you're a genius. Two steps ahead you're insane. Unless you can walk that fine line between eccentric and insane, or otherwise exempt yourself and take on a certain plainness, openness, genuineness. Then people will reciprocate. They will come to you for guidance, leadership, and so on, which I rejected and told them to find their own power. When that isn't what they are, they can't there from here. So I essentially just turned them away, from their perspective. Told them they weren't worthwhile perhaps, thought nothing of the sort was stated or even implied, this may be their interpretation. With the group dynamics stuff this also devalues you because their bonding mechanisms are all based around networking. So if you just do what you do, they will aid you. Quite often. If you're direct and tell them the truth, they will mock, ignore, ridicule. Because they're followers, they have no inward basis, they can't function off ideas. You can't give them an idea or directive and have them use it in an intelligent and self directed manner because they have no self and they have no will, so these are tools they can't use. They can't take hold and develops these faculties on their own, because the lights are on and no one is home. Mind you I would distinguish an NPC from a somnambulist. And it may be more complex than this, eg I've had many cases where if I was in a diminished state where I couldn't drive properly, tired, sick, whatever, then all of a sudden the person I was riding with couldn't drive properly either. As if I was animating and directing them with my mental activity. When I stop functioning, so do they. With other individuals, this is not the case. I can clearly differentiate between the two. That means there may be very few of us here, and we're animating multiple bodies. NPCs have no "oversoul" connected to their body.
Anyway, that's what I would say. This topic "triggered" me and I'm simply talking myself back into the present.
Cowboy · 2024-09-29 01:48
From my observation it boils down to awareness and indeed mental "strenght", the world is run by "signals", adveritising and psycholigcal manipulations are just applications of those rules.
If you observe even at how color coding of simple signs and logos affect people you will notice that the modern world is basically a perversion of natural biological rules.
Most people are basically just automotons who react without thought any sort of higher mental functions to the mental concepts ingrained in them.
Most people have no conception of life as anything other than a blind jumping from one branch to the next and score along the way for whatever their primal minds command them.

I wanted to believe this, see pic related. owever more and more I think that's just reality trying to be believeable. It's true, it never used to be this bad 20+ years ago, people are different in some key and verydistinct ways, there are plenty of plausible explanations based around synergistic toxicities, omnipresent poison and neurlogical disruption,, exposure to brainwashing and terror campaigns from the media along with repetitive content while in that softened hypnotic state. Yeah, that's very convincing........
...
.... for a while.
Then you realize that even with this, there's something missing in them, and there always was. I started trying to get people to understand what you mentioned over 10 years ago. The basic response to these ideas now is identical to how it was then. Even though people are polarized now and more normal people has been dumped into the "Conspiracy" controlled op spheres, the basic tendencies in reasoning are still fixed. They brought the same mindset to the new thing they're doing. And even if something is doing the right thing, if it's doing so for all the wrong reasons and as a mere consequence of current factors, it's still the same thing. Likewise for something which remains the same, but just in a more overtly degraded state, where its song and dance is more retarded, simplistic, lazy, or irrational.
They're still the fuarrrkin' same, just brain damaged. Little if anything was learned at the core, in most cases. Not all. But most. 9/11 only worked because people are dumb anyway. And how do you think they got it to the point where the water was all fluoridated anyway? How did they create this bizarre concept of a nursery? How did they get people doing baby formula and all this soykaf? How was all of this pulled off, every single time? These are real questions which need to be answered. You can say post-war "new man of science" thinking, or hypnosis from TV and radio, even satanic ritual abuse. MKUltra Monarch. Incrementalism, narcissism and psychopathy, ancient methods of behavior modification, bit by bit, quiet and subtle. Prussian school model, hacking the core emotional and social dynamics with brainwashing. Whatever. You can assert the only people that get out of the labyrinth and slip through the cracks in the mental prison are actually ironically defective, damaged in some way. Either way. It just doesn't quite get there. It doesn't work. It requires suspension of disbelief. It's just making excuses.... for people with something missing. NPCs. You're trying to cling to a faulty model of reality, by confabulation.
It's not believeable. It just isn't believeable. If it made any sense, after I went through all of this and got to around 30 or so, you'd think I'd have it pretty well down why people are the way they are, and could at least relate with them by some sort of internal simulation or interface. When in fact I've gone the opposite way. It gets less and less believeable as time goes on. I actually think they're NPCs and it's all just total bullshit to give you something to do and focus on, something to perplex and torment you a bit. Something which engages at the very least by saying "this is what I am not", which keeps you trapped, because you really need to get to "none of this is real". They're hivemind NPCs running on simple scripts. They all change at once because they're your own inner world projected outward, this place uses you to generate them, then entrains them into certain overarching archetypes and allegories. It's all attention and engagement based, just not on individual objects in the world, but on the veil itself. The veil of sensory reality wants you paying attention, just like a movie wants your attention.

Yeah a substantial amount of people have never been there.
And that's always been the case, even the Bible talks about people who cannot even discern between their left and right hands, that are completely devoid of understanding.
The overwhelming poison has made this more obvious, and has killed the feeble spark they had.
I think right now there's the highest concentration of empty people ever, or at least second highest.
Daily wretched things are done that would get people stoned and lynched for in the past, and its just normal now.

This is total bs, i remember the day 9/11 happened and life before it and after it.
Most people were always dull witted simpletons who simply followed others bullshit because they are incapable of creating anything for themselfs.
Hearing stuff like this makes me sick, even before the internet we had tons of fakenews and memery and every kind of pointless bullshit from every direction.
Vaccines, fluoride and all the other crap delusional nationalist like to believe is all nonsens, i had it all done to me and while it affected me it somewhat i know for a fact none of this stuff has to do with the smartzombie behaviour.
Most of these "conspiracy theorists" are isolated right wing nuts who dont fit in and desperately want to believe that they have a people where they can find belonging and some evil boogey man ruins it for them, when in fact they are just the same type of cattle like beasts in denial, failed normal people at heart.
The simple sick and sad truth is that most of mankind are oppertunists who simple go along to get along no matter what without any regard for consequence or forethought of any kind and simply play along with the script to fit in to the herd.
What covid proved to me is that people want to be lazy mindless beasts that simply get the benefits of being part of the herd no matter if they get tramppled themselfs.
These so called elites act out of self defense, the true enemy is mankinds inherit tendency of inertia towards progress and change, these so called psychological manpulations and all this crap that is really happening is done out of neccecity because those npcs zombies refuse to think for themselfs and i can see that deep at their core they all have no distinction from animals who wear clothes and being in denial about it at supreficial level, but in their subconsious they all know and realize that they are inconsequent useless eaters who are incapable and utterly unwilling to ever change anything about the world they live in or themselfs, they are happy just eating soykafting, sleeping and fuarrrking and the entirety of the world they build is a farm for themselfs.
The only ones to blame for elitists like schwab, gates and harahri are these mindless fuarrrking antromorphized maggots who leech nature all day and pretend they contribute so they feel better about themselfs, the npcs are the sole and singular cause of all the vile and evil in the world and i saw i every day of my life in the people, they are the first ones to kill the messenger and bury the truth behind rubbles of senseless bullshit that have no content at all and they happy about it convincing themselfs they have the priviliges and obligation to do so.

They immitate their leaders alright, but they dont conspire, conspiricy requires planning and organization.
Comming togheter to gossip and lie in such obvious ways as they do requires no intellect and indeed none is involved, they simple gang up on one person/group they dont like for whatver reason and badger them with whatver they can, for them it comes down to gossip and rummors, superficial pointless fearmongering and acting superior themselfs.
The normgroids dont conspire in the sense that they plan an outcome, devise methods and find means to exectue them, they just blindly stomp on whatver they dont like for whatever reason seems fitting for them.

When a habitat changes, organisms evolve to adapt to the changes.
For instance, when a human population grows, humans adapt to a habitat of other people instead of a habitat of nature. They do this by learning to exploit people rather than nature. The people who exploit others the most skillfully are psychopaths.
That's why very successful civilizations that become densely populated slowly get taken over by psychopaths. And that eventually destroys the civilizations.
Note that corporate CEOs and clergy have some of the highest rates of psychopathy of any profession.

A simple example is a hole in the fence - everyone not reporting it cause they want to continue using it participates in breaking the law together. People behave uniform when they benefit from the same thing without any coordination. Next focus on the guy who makes the hole - he steers everyone into using it over walking by the fence. From the outside someone might observe a group of people participating in a single activity together but there is not even a word exchanged between the participants.
This also kinda known as "hegelian dialect" - you don't tell people what to do but create the circumstances that will lead them into doing what you want.

>Why does this happen and why does it feel like I am the only person willing to think for myself, or to at least do basic research on a subject before making a decision?
In most societies, when a child reaches a certain age, they are forced to spend (at least) 6 hours a day, 5 days a week in the Institute that's called school. In this school, they are forced to ignore their own inner voices, and instead listen to an adult that demands that they behave and think a certain way, and if they don't they get punished. They go through this indoctrination for at least 10 years - generally the most formative years of someone's life - after which most people are daft and dull 'automatons', that have been taught not to listen to themselves, but instead listen to others to make their decisions. Higher education isn't any different.
Very few people are able to break free from these mental shackles.

You are actually misunderstanding the person's reason for the request. When someone asks you "about should I buy this product" they are not using your response as the sole reason for choosing that product. Someone might read online reviews and then ask several people whether they think they should buy the product. Its not that they are to stupid and need someone else to make the choice. Its that want a 2nd opinion on the choice they are about to make which is smart.

******LIFE SPOILER WARNING******
I think in any relationship you must have one person, typically the man, who leaves their partner in the dark. They're more concerned with their partners happiness than their partner's awareness. I'll just call this person the 'responsibility-er'. The 'responsibility-er' is someone who plans their actions, uses ulterior motives, all to achieve an end goal.
Then there is their partner who trusts them, and follows their lead. This person allows the 'responsibility-er' to control them. Like during sex. They're unaware of their own self-worth and therefore get a huge reward from the 'responsibility-er' validating their actions. They are full of uncertainty, unawareness, unassuredness, cause they do not plan their actions. It is less work to have someone else make a decision for you. It is less work to have someone think for you. It is less work to think through the repercussions, implications and consequences of your actions. I'll call this person the 'nonresponsibility-er'.
They both benefit from the characteristics of the other.
The 'responsibility-er' can still educate the 'nonresponsibility-er', but that's not his job. His job is to keep the relationship from breaking. Even if it means misinforming his partner or keeping his partner stupid.
In reality, it's not perfectly split like this, it's more of a spectrum and I've very roughly defined the opposite ends of that spectrum.
Naturally you have people in society that adopt these characteristics. It's not just in their relationship that they behave like this, it's in all their human interactions, AI interactions, and interactions with themselves in their own mind.
People fall into where they fit like water following the path of least resistance. You can fight yourself to change but that becomes more difficult the longer youve been flowing in one direction because your brain has been built over years or decades to be the way you are and to survive and make sense of the world the way you do.
There are a lot more 'nonresponsibility-ers' than 'responsibility-ers'. I'd say 'responsibility-ers' make up 25% of the population in the United States.
'responsibility-ers' know how much power there is in information. They are not likely to share it. Even as Im writing this, Im like, "do I really wanna tell people this¿" The answer is no, but I just realized Im seeking validation like a 'nonresponsibility-er', and hoping someone challenges me...so I can validate my own beliefs....despite knowing Im right. The 'responsibility-er' in me knows I dont need to do this, cause Ive already validated it myself, but the 'nonresponsibility-er' in me isnt satisfied and wants more validation.

I was unaware of the similarities between my beliefs and yin & yang. I looked it up, and there certainly are some significant similarities.
I try to stay away from naming such things like yin & yang though. It just overwhelms people and makes them think you're someone they should roll their eyes at. Especially if their intelligence in low. They fail to see the point of what's being conveyed and are actively looking for reasons to dismiss things like yin & yang. They do this cause it's less work, easier to find a reason to dismiss than to comprehend the entirety of such a concept. Especially when theyve trained themself to dismiss like this over years or decades. They dont want to waste their time commiting to the understanding of something if that something will be unvaluable in the end.
The flow of information in human x human interactions is indeed very important, critical for a concrete understanding of the world.
Understanding that a goal of all people is greater awareness for themselves but not necessarily for others. There are reasons to spread information and reasons to not. There are reasons to lie, withhold information, misinform others, and even keep others stupid. It is a matter of prioritization. Prioritizing a desire of either you or the other person.
Additionally, psychology is complex. People envy greater awareness their whole life but when that one person comes along and offers it, they reject because they are rightly skeptical and it's a lot easier to look for reasons not to sit down and listen then it is to sit and listen. It's a commitment thing, it's a much smaller commitment to dismiss then it is to spend the next 1 week figuring out if what this person is saying is actually correct. Im sure if they had unlimited time, they'd have no issue committing to such a task. So lack of time, or more precisely, the fear of wasting the limited resource that is 'time' is the true limiter to their comprehension. Removing that fear will leave them willing to comprehend anything.

I find the concept of yin and yang very useful whenever addressing the duality of things, especially that of the two sexes.
One could fill tomes by listing all the differences explicitly, but refering to the concept of yin and yang makes things more concise. Furthermore nobody can challenge the existence of the duality. Meanwhile if you were to write everything out, people would go ahead and try to argue every point away.
So I prefer to use the symbolic and (since antiquity) proven concept of yin and yang whenever appropriate. It's also not binary, but kind of it is. All the gender talk stops at this concept.
So based on this, I agree with you on the general differences between people acting on a scale between two extremes.
Where it becomes interesting is when applied to how people consume information and share information. In today's society this means a lot, as this shapes society, makes or breaks people.
I will not list all consequences of this, it would be too much to type. It's more appropriate to sketch the spectrum of internet users:
>Information creators (data sources)
These people put original content on the internet.
(Here it is needed to point put that the so called 'content creators' are not always doing original content but often copy each other. They are more of the next categories)
>Information creators who also consume
People who enjoy putting information on the internet but also consume some information.
This makes the data they create a little less original but in some cases might spark their creativity.
>Information consumers who also create
People whjo enjoy consuming information on the internet but also create some information.
I'd say most people are like this nowaday as society tipped a little to the consumer-centric; it might tip the other way with the spread of AI applications. Here I also hint to the OP post).
These people get more information input but have less desire to create data, sometimes they do when they feel inspired enough.
>Information consumers
These people just consume.
It is for their own enjoyment only.
Now we have looked at how people might cosume information off the internet, But it doesn't stop here.
People share the information offline too. And they act in different ways as well.
Someone might be of the infromation consumer type, but in real-life decide to:
- forward all the information without reflection
- keep all internet content to themselves (what happens on the internet stays on the internet)
again two extremes to paint a better picture.
This whole concept in my view is best abstracted by information flow according to the principles of yin and yang.
This becomes useful when feeding masculine or feminine people different data as it is already the case in advertising for example.
I have strayed a little from the point you made because you mostly referred to the interpersonal level in relationships. I understand that you enjoy to apply this concept of duality to the interpersonal level as it has a big impact on your personal life directly.
What I try to express is that applying the same concept to information society is also possible and you might make use of it as well.

My spiel was moreso, highlighting how people decide to share or seek out information. What stops them and why.
The biggest bottleneck in the share of information is immutual comprehensibility. How many times have you tried to convince someone or a group of people of something but they just dont get it. Ever been bombarded by dislikes and didnt know why?
I you want someone to comprehend something, your focus shouldnt be conciseness. It should be making the person your trying to get to comprehend feel like it doesnt require work to comprehend. Increasing the real-time comprehensibility of your spiels is the #1 goal. It doesnt matter how long a spiel is, if it is comprehesible in real-time, as in, they can just read the words and understand without having to think or look anything up, people will read it so long as they feel they are gaining something of value with each sentence. A big part of that is proving that you are right as you are speaking. That is the main thing they want to know in cases where youre trying to convince or get someone to comprehend something. They want to know what they are reading is right, while excersising the least amount of work possible.
You should construct your spiel like a long string of Tik Toks; each sentance immediately comprehensible and so light it feels like no effort to continue to read the next. A raw stream of information. Understood the instant it is read. No work or effort needed. Once you get them reading, they wont stop. There's a reason why Tik Tok and 'Shorts' are so addicting. They are so low commitment, only like 5-30 seconds, and you get a quick reward for each one you watch. It is hard to stop because the commitment to watch the next is so so so so low. It is a much smaller commitment than whatever else they should be doing with their time, like their homework, which is less rewarding and takes significantly longer.
There are plenty of people online sharing information. There is no shortage of that. I can go to wikipedia and learn what feels like anything but....I'm immediately faced with words I dont know. My ability to comprehend is insufficient. And I'm immediately staring at a wall of 50 words I dont know and to understand even 1 of those words fully I'll need to go read another wikipedia page and the process repeats. Ive gone through this process many times. It is exhausting. But it makes the wiki-page more concise so, yay? I end up reading more in the end, it's less concise, and the only people that dont need to do this are the people that already understand, and thus dont need to really be reading the page.
A lot of words are in a lot of ways bullshit; unnecessary. They're useful once known, but to anyone that doesnt, they are a barrier to comprehension. Once you get someone reading, if what you have to say in every sentance is truly correct, valuable and comprehensible, they will not stop reading.
The problem with that is that it takes a lot longer for the information sharer to write up.
But the problem with referencing something like yin & yang is that for anyone that doesnt know the concept, they are either going to have to read through a lot web pages or AI chats which is going to make the process significantly less comprehensible for the reader. And if your goal is to get them to comprehend, well you've certainly made it significantly more difficult...to the point most will probably just give up. What is the point of speaking, if you are not understood? Perhaps a person might not want to be understood but that's a different, albeit, more interesting topic.

>The thing about the meme portrayal of using psychology to manipulate is another NPC fantasy. I don't even bother.
Could you explain what you meant by this?
Are you saying it's an NPC fantasy to think you can use psychology to manipulate?

Essentially. This "mentalist" mind hacks hollywood style nonsense is a game by and for NPCs. It hits all the right fantasy aspects and emotional chords. Not standing out too much, but still having the sensation of power over others. I might even say psychology only works on NPCs to begin with, as they have a singular mind, likely lack a core self, and lack a higher self. Player characters are composed of many aspects and have a connection to a basis outside the universe, so while you might be able to seduce the entire system, or trick one fragment into going along, the other pieces are still watching and remain aware. Eeven the more traditional Sun Tsu art of war tactics stuff, aren't really psychology either. Tactics are just about fragmenting and biasing the possibility space to either overload the opponent or put them in a double bind. The mentalist style teeheehee sleight of hand, is all just entertainment. Toys for NPCs, and entertainment for player characters to learn from. MAkes the world seem real and engaging, and dynamic, with real stakes. When it's all actually simple scripts overlayed.

Manipulating people is an extremely ugly thing, not at all like the cheery hollywood portrayal of playing someone like an instrument.
Narcissists are manipulators. Demanding obnoxious people are manipulators. People who refuse to think or acknowledge any of their wrongdoing are manipulators. Abusers are manipulators.
Manipulating people isn't a genius skill, its simple, it just requires arrogance, stubbornness, preexisting power, and disregard for the truth. It is an ugly thing.

Which is why their twisted, broken little minds jump into full swing. Trying to make something ugly looking intriguing and suave. Like you can be a real anti0hero, or even greater hero, if you are measured in your disregard for morality. Amorality is held up as the greatest ideal, and all these genius mentalist bullshit is dreamed up and propagated as the ultimate NPC power fantasy.

The idea that an ugly evil fantasy is more "realistic" or "feasible" is a huge illusion they push.
A fantasy is just a fantasy, no matter how ugly and "amoral".
Ugly people want their ugliness to be "right".

My comprehension skills are lacking. Can you clarify?:
So Hollywood-style-psychological-mental-manipulation is exaggerated.
NPCs believe such things are possible.
Some NPC see this and power fantasize about having such skills.
NPC can't have these skills because they are not realistic.
Players know these skills are unrealistic, making this unrealistic-exaggerated-psychological-manipulation-game something only an NPC would buy into. The player would know it's bullshit, but the NPC wouldn't.
> I might even say psychology only works on NPCs to begin with
So do you think a player can be psychologically manipulated? But it's just more difficult?
Regarding someone's susceptibility to psychological-manipulation, it's more of a spectrum, right? And on one side you have an...
> NPC who:
1. has a singular mind,
2. likely lack a core self,
3. lack a higher self-NPC
and on the other side you have a...
> Player who:
1. is composed of many aspects
2. has a connection to a basis outside the universe
And people will fall somewhere on that spectrum regarding their susceptibility to psychological-manipulation?
> have a connection to a basis outside the universe
Do you mean the physical universe or their own metal universe? Or, in a more abstract sense, a space outside the gameboard?
> So while you might be able to seduce the entire system, or trick one fragment into going along, the other pieces are still watching and remain aware.
Are you saying you might be able to seduce the entire system of a 'Player', trick a fragment of that system, but other pieces of the player's system are still watching and remain aware? And therefore, the player can detect the manipulation?
Got any good TV or movie examples of the "mentalist mind hacks Hollywood style nonsense?" Preferably, a scene or a few minute clip?

Read David Riessman's The Lonely Crowd, and it'll baffle you no more. It's called being other-directed, as opposed to being self-directed, tradition-directed, anomic or autonomous. Get on with the times, baby! Present Day, Present Time! AHAHAHAHAHA!

Hegelian dialect core idea is creating circumstances that will lead people to desired behavior willingly instead of trying to convince them. Its classically tied to politics but same idea works universally on every layer:
The dentist gives out free candy to create customers
firemen lay fire to create demand for their department and get budget passed
arms dealers incite wars to sell weapons

accurate for my given narrow examples. The idea should be wider though which is why i tried to formulate it more generic.
there's probably more i can't think of spontaneously but to widen the scope:
1.create problem to forcibly sell solution (previous post)
2.ban existing solution to forcibly sell your own solution
3.share ill gains to ensure collaboration
examples:
2. is just regulatory capture and examples like banning hemp fiber forced using plastic wires or more modern eu taking markets over from countries it absorbs under "you have no permits" to shut down domestic products forcing them to buy their exports.
3. compliance through incriminating by sharing illegal gains or simply making people reliant on your funding. I believe most cant say no too gifts that have no personal cost (someone else paying is not their problem). This occurs on every level from kid gangs sharing stolen soykaf to keep everyone silent to politicians getting campaign funds and advisory positions from fraudulent companies that then never get in trouble over lawsuits.
The shortest tldr is probably "force people to work with you", if they dont need you create the need, if there is an alternative remove the alternative.

#2 just sounds like a subtype of #1
You give good examples.
#3 like the elite engaing in a mutual incriminating act which can be used as blackmail over each other to maintain cooperation, & trust. Making the lives/reputation of all people involved reliant on each other's silence.
Perhaps a term that could be used for all of these scenarios is:
'forced reliancy'?
Or 'forced reliancy for profit'?

Everything is being outsourced to other people and AI that doesnt even use rationality it just spews words. I am not sure why suddenly everyone is afraid of using their brain. Maybe it isnt entirely fear but rather fatigue from excess socialization in huge masses online. People were only evolved to handle maybe 100 people tops not millions and billions.
