The world's chief controllers are no longer centered around religion. Now they're occultists who have been around for who knows how long. Their control in world history has been undeniable since the 17th-18th century. It is now easier and more beneficial for the powers that be to control the masses with atheistic ideologies and consumerism than religion. The average person's level of knowledge and time to sit around and think instead of work as a serf has increased so that they will likely notice all of the flaws of logic in the world's dominant religions (Abrahamism, Hinduism) and their application in justifying wars and other acts of greed by the ruling class.
