Was wondering if there are people here also dealing with maniac tendencies in emotionally heightened states. Specifically when you begin to exhibit traits of insanity and hyper-arousal (erratic hyperactivity) while being “out of your depth”, beginning to make all kinds of connections
Do you have addictive personalities?
How do you deal with this?
It usually stems from high levels of cortisol
(Responders don’t need to have a diagnosis of schizophrenia btw)

yeah with me if I get too stressed my mind just starts coming up with constructs only God can comprehend. Dark Forest aliens in my closet are just the beginning

I do believe that one of the only ways to mitigate stress-induced prolonged psychotic states is to find an environment that mirrors your need for safety

I go through these periods of being frenetic, and I have almost no sense of myself. I'll talk to myself till 3AM, and my only outlet for it is basically to either masturbate or engage in hours of daydreaming where I can escape the real world. It's exactly like doing drugs (except I am afraid to do drugs, because I think that I'm already fuarrrked up enough). Whenever I have the displeasure of being dragged to social events, I'm always awkward and find some way to isolate myself, especially if I am manic. I keep saying weird soykaf. But, to be honest, I enjoy making other people think I'm crazy, because it's like another form of escape. I was a lot more indulgent when I was younger, and had my outbursts. Now, I simply hide it away, like a fatso sneaking oreos under his fuarrrking bed. A lot of people think mania sounds like a great time, but it kinda blows. It seems so cool in the movies, but in real life I just feel paranoid and scared at what I might do because it could have serious consequences. I want to tell myself, "fuarrrk the consequence". In any case, some part of it will come to a head. My guess is that I'll go insane, because I have psychotic episodes too, and those aren't getting any better.

same, exactly. i realized that there are many people on lainchan with the same problems. maybe it's because we are all connected. at least we are not alone. i had a crisis sitting in a cafe with some people, i took out my phone and wrote a long post about it on a different chan and the anons made fun of me

I have a similar situation where my cortisol state default is just maxxed out confirmation bias like genuinely believing some lover from the past is talking to me through the songs playing in a cafe at any given moment
i still partially believe that its true
im genuinely very fuarrrkign scared that ill go insane and i also feel like im living on the verge between two words, just like you, lainon
i dont understand whats real, and >>79522 we might not feel accommodated to the real world because most people cant tolerate even dialectics ("these gentlemen lack dialectics" - Marx) (hence autism levels and black and white polarized thought), let alone base ontological insecurity
i feel like it might drive me into even legal issues
just work on developing meaningful relationships and it all goes away i promise most of you are not insane ive seen insane people you are just above average intelligence in a world that lives by the bible of neoliberalism (the bdsm-5) without teaching evolutionary theory (epigenetics)
i found that most of this goes away (the pathological parts) once you get into meaningful relationships and develop higher levels of Oxytocin

i also must mention that in my case its def partially stimulated by external causes (ex friends ended up living double lives, me getting tailed etc)
if you have none of that happening apart from sociological causes just mentioned, you might look into genetic predisposition

its no wonder - people on lainchan see some practical realistic value in the Wired - the connection to the collective unconscious
lol
