How do I work on unfrying my dopamine receptors? I've always been a bit scattered and was diagnosed with "ADHD" a few years back. I was prescribed Adderall and it did nothing except give me a high and make me hyperfocus on useless soykaf for long periods of time. I got addicted to it and ended up cutting myself off after 2 years of use. I'm now 7 months stimulant free, but my dopamine receptors feel very fried. I feel the need to constantly be online distracting myself. I can hardly hold my attention on a graphic novel that I bought and really wanna read because it feels like my brain struggles with focusing on and processing words as well as I used to.I was like this before Adderall too. I started getting really into the internet circa 2012 and its been downhill ever since. Smartphones have made this even worse. Its almost like I get withdrawal symptoms from being offline for long periods of time. Any advice lainons?

Hopefully our legislations catch up to this kind of behaviour sooner rather than later and make it a punishable offence on the level of murder. Talk about disregard for basic human dignity.

My bad... FUСK I'm terribly sorry for this...
Well yes, even after a long time of being addicted part of you wants to get through it again, I still sometimes browse the internet and ONCE AGAIN take looks at porn (literally just yesterday). I get how thoughts about Adderall can come obsessively.
My advice really is to remove anything that reminds you of it and just fuarrrking ignore your brain; I know that's sort of cliche but unironically, these thoughts aren't of you but of your lymbic system that wants immediate pleasure, slap it and it'll shut up even if it repeats it later. It's literally like another crazy person next to you whispering over and over again, fuarrrk them lol. Literally imagine yourself shouting "Stop!". Another thing is to make an "alter-ego", it isn't a tulpa or anything, but someone in your brain you define and know exactly what it does and does not, this helped me really get from procrastinating.
Sometimes you might forget yourself again, just like me, but just remind you should control yourself. All this sounds cringe but it really works.
*hugs*

These things have been explained in my video because I had obsessive thoughts when trying to quit porn. I know I spammed soykaf or something, I just deleted this reply. OP doesn't need to watch anything, I already wrote my advice up here.

Improve brain energy metabolism.

Idk why you're apologizing, I'm not OP and I thought the vid was helpful, even if not 100% on topic.

how would you go about doing that? and what cognitive behaviors would it change (i.e. why would it work)?
