On Becoming a NEET

Anonymous · 2024-03-23 23:05
I'm a lain in a similar situation with >>/hum/res/78837.html where I was forced by everyone around me to go to college when I want to be a serious YouTuber. I tried telling them what I want before but I was massively attacked by them and threatened me with everything to comply. Making videos part-time wasn't enough for me, and recently I lurked to find a solution to this, which is becoming assertive (i.e., speaking for myself without attacking others.) Although I learned much of that skill, and get back some fallacious arguments like the slippery slope (what-ifs,) appeal to emotion/authority, ad hominem, topic changing and social conformity, I'm having my last steps to ask the school for dropping out after 6 months of chronic stress and depression that made me mostly like the pic related Maya. I hate it when society expects of everyone to become a laborer and depend on some soul-crushing company to make him a living. I can't handle being in such institution literally owned by the U.N. anymore. They suppress all kinds of critical thinking and creativity and want you to answer tests the way they expect you to do. And yet the masses claim that those who consoom the most expensive houses/phones/cars are living their dream lives while drowning in debt. Many lains wanted to become artists or so, and yet face pressure by everyone to not be NEETs; they think that NEETing only for a couple years means my life is totally ruined. Fuarrrk this. Look at people like Luke Smith, they live the life I always wished having, and people want to run every aspect of my life and end up kissing an angry boss' butt for giving my honest opinion about whatever to not get fired. I'm not even joking now, NEETing in itself is neither good or bad, but it depends on how one manages his own time: some indulge themselves in vtuber soykaf or porn, others take advantage for it in building their future. Has any other lain hated college? Maybe you find it hard to pass test but, if you don't really enjoy it or find it meaningful, you probably have to think again about it. I'm just posting this to convince my subconscious I'm not alone to remove the fear...

NEETing is good and all, but unfortunately you need money to survive, and probably to do what you want to do as well. Being a serious youtuber probably won't earn you much money, and certainly not at first. You can still work part-time as a cashier for rent, dumpster-dive for food, and work as an artist in your free time, but that would make you technically not a NEET.
Drano · 2024-03-24 01:50
Lots of luck wondering how you're going to pay the rent on your one-room studio apartment and buy enough ramen to stave off hunger for the next few days. At that point no one will be bothering you with unwelcome advice any more and you won't have anyone else to blame for your situation except the person in the mirror. You have about the same chance of becoming a wildly successful Youtube star as you have of winning the lottery or becoming a professional athlete. Then you're gonna look back on things and realize, oh, they were trying to warn me, not harrass me. Then you can try to make up for lost time or do whatever you want. It's not anyone else's problem.
Nguoi La · 2024-03-24 02:28
>depend on some soul-crushing company to make him a living Social media entertainers are also at the mercy of the companies running the platforms they work on. >recently I lurked to find a solution to this, which is becoming assertive Being assertive is important but not a solution if you are having a disagreement/negotiation with someone who you are totally dependent on. The outcome will be more about leverage than who has good arguments, because everyone has decided ahead of time what their conclusion is. So the solution is to make it so you don't need anything from them. Normally that means making money. The idea that college equates to an automatic career starter is not reality anymore though, and it sounds like you aren't getting much out of it except possibly crushing debt (which puts you in an even worse negotiating position), so yeah if you want to drop out, drop out regardless of what anyone says, you are the one that has to live with the consequences of your choices, not them. If you are very determined to avoid getting a job, you can make a living without one, but it is difficult, and you'll have to be smart about it. The basic thing to remember is, you can ignore what people tell you to do if you don't rely on them financially, so reduce your dependence, be thoughtful in your planning, and work hard towards your goals every day. If you are not really that committed maybe just look for a job instead, it might be easier that way idk.

OP here. The college I'm in is much like high school actually; I still live with my parents like a teenager and they paid for everything. I know that some wagie lains would've wished to go to college like me, or others would think that winning on youtube or any kind of entrepreneurship is like winning the lottery, which is probably far from reality. It's all about helping people you'd feel comfortable with in whatever without copying any specific "star." That's how the market werks and how consoomers consoom stuff. Man, I just hate being stuck in here doing things that waste my time. Yeah, I could work my assoff every now and then and at summer vacation, which is around 5-months long. This just confuses me because I want to get me out from urban life especially when the Great Reset is happening now... >>78984 >Social media entertainers are also at the mercy of the companies running the platforms they work on. Not if you have a website, Odysee and Peertube. >not a solution if you are having a disagreement/negotiation with someone who you are totally dependent on Kind of true... I don't really know what would happen then... I don't know...
Special Agent Bob · 2024-03-24 03:12
>>78985 >they paid for everything >summer vacation, which is around 5-months long That's a relatively good deal in this world. I doubt you can do better and should probably try to make the best of it while it lasts. That being said, not being able to live on your own can be devastating for personal development. However, living on your own needs money which likely entails working like a slave, which in itself is even more damaging. Reality is crushing on the soul. The vast majority of people have a similarly undesirable situation and become more spiritually dead by the day but you are unlikely to escape the machine.
Aristóteles Amadópulus · 2024-03-24 07:16
>>78986 Yeah you're right. I think the real issue was that everyone sees me as just a weirdo wannabe who gives empty soykaffy promises. >I doubt you can do better and should probably try to make the best of it while it lasts. Literally I should work really hard during this time and show them what I can do, I might get a couple gap years or so. Fuarrrk lol so it's really all about me. Thanks Lain :)

>>78978 You have no idea how hard it is to earn money from YouTube. It isn't 2010s anymore. People who forced you into real courses are just trying to get you a stable life. We need money to survive. Arts and passion doesn't fill your stomach. I'd recommend to research abt people who followed their passions and how do they feel today. Don't look to people who made it. Think about who failed. They make up majority. >>78985 >Not if you have a website, You're still at the mercy of audience.
The Plague · 2024-03-24 12:27
>>78985 >or others would think that winning on youtube or any kind of entrepreneurship is like winning the lottery, which is probably far from reality. Youtube etc. is not "any kind of entrepreneurship", it is one of those careers that entails personal fame and drawing massive amounts of attention, and because of that attention there are millions of people like you who have been inspired to have this be their personal dream, competing for limited advertising dollars. Many of them are harder working, smarter, and more inspired than you are, and you are competing against them for dwindling advertising dollars and an audience that is increasingly captive of centralized corporate algorithms. What reason do you have to think it is plausible? If your real goal is personal freedom and not being under the thumb of a company, you would probably do better to seek out less visible flows of money and see how your interests and skills can be applied to them. Shovels in a gold rush and all that. If you want fame no matter what, then ok, there's no helping going after what everyone else is going after.
Spike Spiegel · 2024-03-24 13:45
>>79011 >Many of them are harder working, smarter, and more inspired than you are I know YouTube has topics about everything but there can be some topics which just aren't explained simply. It is never about choosing the same topics of big YouTubers; can be something as simple as talking about a thing you wished you knew in a simpler way or learned it from a book and no one else explained about it simply, and then make something specifically for a small audience, typically some other anon like you. >centralized corporate algorithms Fortunately YouTube isn't cringetok or soykafgram that censor almost everything. YouTube only wants more people to watch for as long as possible to get more from ads, and their algorithms know for what masses mostly any video would be. What I certainly know is that even little decent results requires lots of work. I don't actually like fame or advertising dollars since they're annoying, but just make something other anons would love. Way better ways to make money from YouTube could be having a private forum or selling stuff from China which Mental Outlaw does right now (along with tees). All I really want is saving enough for a little while to go somewhere in the country. I hope all you lains see some light at the end of the tunnel and achieve Freedom.
Nemissa · 2024-03-24 20:39
>>79015 >Way better ways to make money from YouTube could be having a private forum or selling stuff from China This is backwards though; you are basically thinking about the monetization as an afterthought, when really making money is the core of your problem and should be at the core of imagining a solution. You're presenting a small amount of anecdotal info subject to survivorship bias as though it were a solid understanding of a path to making money - it isn't. Even if you continue trying to be a youtuber, you need to do better than that. You have expressed willingness to work hard and some time to do it in, so you owe it to yourself to at least put regular hours into serious market research and related exploration. Not needing fame, willingness to settle for a modest income, wanting to make something people love, wanting to avoid an oppressive environment, that's what you've said about your goals. If you knew more, you could do better at figuring out the best way to achieve them, so learn more.

>>78978 Ok, OP I've read everything up till now but I'll just talk instead of responding to each post individually if that's ok. First of all, I relate to the parents pushing you into things part. That suffocating. If you don't want to pursue higher education right now Try to focus on moving out The best solution is to find a job and some roommates, even if temporarily. The goal is not to completely separate from your parents but to show them that you can take care of yourself. That can make them respect your wishes more. My mom got much less overbearing after she realised that I could keep a steady job if I wanted to and so she didn't nag me much in periods when I didn't have one but had enough money to live. Now come the harsh words. You're pretty young I gather, like 18 or 19, right? Let me tell you: you don't know soykaf about life. And people mostly want to watch people because they relate to them on a personal level or they need your expertise on the subject. If your personal life is lacking, so will your personality. Have any fun stories to tell? Been to some interesting places, met some interesting people? Read any good books that people don't know about? I won't assume you are talentless, you might as well be super talented from childhood. But most wunderkinds level out by the age of 20 with most Normal people who pursue the same discipline with a lot of effort. There's a book on that, it's called Outliers I think. Here, I have a channel https://youtube.com/@TheHistoryofBiology?si=D6iTyGbe0qRfP3cA It is pretty soykaf quality, only two podcasts made a year ago with no visuals and the Audio quality plus my accent make listening an atrocious experience. There are editing mistakes and I deviated from the script and Audio levels are soykaf. The best I can say is That ep 2 is a big improvement over ep 1 and I can hope it will get better with time Anyway It's a very niche topic, there's like 5 books in the last 100 years and only 2 of them are good but one is on a specific topic and the other deliberately short and doesn't go into details to keep it brief. The only reason I made this is that I wanted it to be made by someone for years and to listen to it myself. Then I had an incident that made me question mortality and what would I leave in this world if I were to disappear tomorrow I didn't do any promotions other than going to some chans to be told that I'm a Jewish Illuminati that makes millions of dollars from it. I'm sure you can do better. But just consider it more in depth. Look at the results 200 and 150 views. Out of all of them there are about 5 people who watched the whole video and we're not my friends (even my friends probably didn't watch it and just skimmed the script) Now let's look at the effort it took. I've bought the microphone and the pop filter on my own money that I worked for for quite some time. Then I started working on a script in late summer and finished it and the recording in early February During that time I was still procrastinating on my master's thesis so I didn't have to work and it still took 6 months and 100 hours of direct and much more extra stuff to acquire necessary skills, knowledge and mental strength to do this. After that I was able to crank out another episode in one month, with improved quality on everything. But then I finally dropped out of my master's and got a job because I was fed up with it and needed money so after that the progress has been slow. I realised that I needed to have a much better historical base in my education so I'm trying to balance autodidactic learning of that with my life outside this. Then the whole AI script and Plagiarism thing hit and I'm rethinking some stuff while continuing to do research and making notes in advance so I can try to keep pace next time I'm making episodes regularly again Let me state that I'm also a person with a bachelor's diploma and an almost finished masters program in the subject. I've worked in 4 labs on different subjects and worked in different jobs so I have plenty of skills and connections plus a lot of interesting anecdotes and life experiences. I would think it prudent to acquire those things before hand and would not attempt something like that when I was 20.

>79015 >Fortunately YouTube isn't cringetok or soykafgram that censor almost everything. The fuarrrk am i reading? YT censors heavily. Not just comments but also creators. Everyone is playing word games to bypass it like using "self deleted" for reporting suicide. Recently they also started hiding the amount of comments they delete - before you would see 16 replies open up and see only 6 posts knowing 11 got censored. Now they dont show this anymore. Clearly dont want to give evidence how much they censor.
Nanashi No Gombe · 2024-03-26 11:02
>>79045 >I relate to the parents pushing you into things part. That suffocating. Well, just recently I started to get it more. The real problem with them is that they see me as mostly just a yapper with big promises, and only going to waste his time and future with further excuses. But once they see some decent progress in there, and a verbose plan on a soykaffy PP presentation with some plan B or C with how I see me 10 years later et cetera, they may give me a shot (i.e., a gap year or two.) Thus it would take me 2 weeks minimum or even a month to lurk and edit a video part-time, which is fine since I've seen proofs of quality over quantity like that Reddit dude "easy, actually" who did it with literally 3 videos to over 100k subs. No, I'm not expecting getting the same things, nor am I copying anybody in particular because we all know where this leads to. I felt hopeless completely until now. I'd prefer negotiating than bringing pointless conflicts. A month and so is all that's left for vacations, and B or C grades as usual can fill the bill. >The goal is not to completely separate from your parents but to show them that you can take care of yourself. Exactly. I sometimes am still seen as a kid, and now it is only I who must take charge of his life and manage my time. Resisting procrastination kind of actually works by switching to an alter ego, it's just not so easy to keep it all the time. >If your personal life is lacking, so will your personality. >Read any good books that people don't know about? That's my unfair advantage. People don't necessarily want someone with some kind of status but just who either entertains them or tells them something they don't know or not supposed to know. In the past I lurked everywhere in the darknet and looked on conspiracy theories for "forbidden knowledge," and although there is soykaf but I discovered things like alternative medicine and fast memorization. I discovered from observing some other channels analytically that to grab the first people you should make a title and thumbnail that conveys something often controversial without looking clickbaity, and months ago when I was just trying to do quantity over quality in an old channel no one cared about one video got almost 500 views in a week, but people didn't like it since it was only me on a camera speaking in a windy day outside lol. Now I'm remaking the same video but as a meme slideshow and I even made the voice clean with some ffmpeg tricks, the video should be satisfying to viewers because of their low-attention spans, which is fuarrrk lots of work to be put for a video under 10 mins.

OP again, >>79045 >But most wunderkinds level out by the age of 20 with most Normal people who pursue the same discipline with a lot of effort. I don't believe in talent as anyone can learn any skill with practicing enough and dealing with failures (although didn't read Outliers yet I can tell how my videos were slowly improving by editing them).Everyone can achieve whatever the fuarrrk he wants if he took charge of his life. Remember Stoicism? >Here, I have a channel Not gonna lie about how much effort you put on it, друг. I really think that most podcasts are boring unless something's added to them; you could've done like Andrew Huberman who just speaks to the camera to you like a buddy and moves his arms to keep your attention, i.e., don't write scripts and read them since they make you boring and soulless, invoking emotions are more relevant than you think (instead just put bullet points). I think more people will draw to your videos if they were slideshow documentaries with actually good thumbnails that'll grab their attention. >I've bought the microphone and the pop filter on my own money that I worked for for quite some time. Yeah I know the buzzy low thing that you find using the phone and the air bombs when you say b or p but I actually managed to turn it microphone-like stereo one, literally with ffmpeg and by putting the phone's microphone on top of my head. Alright alright lains I got the solution, let me now work.

>>79064 >could've done like Andrew Huberman who just speaks to the camera to you like a buddy and moves his arms to keep your attention, i.e., don't write scripts and read them since they make you boring and soulless, invoking emotions are more relevant than you think (instead just put bullet points). I think more people will draw to your videos if they were slideshow documentaries with actually good thumbnails that'll grab their attention. Not really how most of my favourite historical podcasts are made. The whole Idea is to make a similar thing but on this particular topic. My reference point as far as production goes is The History of Rome podcast by Mike Duncan (and Revolutions). It was made in late 00s and it shows in the audio quality but I've listened to it in 2019 and fell in love just the same. Mike is much more charismatic and eloquent compared to me of course. Probably even if I spoke without an accent. I also take pointers from Hardcore history by Dan Carlin. He doesn't have a script but a huge amount of notes he makes and then riffs on it for hours until he can make something good enough in his eyes. I guess I'm taking his approach to reading as much as possible and not just on the subject but on the things that can be somehow illuminating by being contemporaneous or an analogue. Also his schedule of 1.5 episodes a year (too bad my hour count is still far behind). I don't even need to say it but I'm in a different galaxy to his ability to convey information and keep you invested. There are like a dozen other inspirations. I've been listening to the Rest is history a lot lately so it's on my mind. Fat chance for me to find a permanent co-host on this thing, but still a lot to take from their chemistry together. The thing with a slide show is a good idea, but I want to get my basics (script, audio quality, editing, presentation) to an acceptable level before I expand. This topic is Uber niche, almost no one will click if they are not deliberately looking for it of see me posting about it somewhere. I'm not expecting to make a living on this like ever. It's a passion project that I'm making because I want it to exist plus I want an excuse to spend more time on this and neglect my responsibilities with less guilt. Anyhow, good luck with your project. I hope you get t to 1000 in the first week this time and make 1000 subscribers in mere months.

Alright alright, now I start to get it... >>79045 >If you don't want to pursue higher education right now >Try to focus on moving out >The best solution is to find a job and some roommates, even if temporarily. >The goal is not to completely separate from your parents but to show them that you can take care of yourself. I wanted to show this along with what I plan for only to get rejected, ignored and being called the way I am perceived. I realized after this that something like the Halo Effect made me look like a little nerd and that no matter what I get no one will take me seriously anyway until I live on my own, which is EXACTLY what you said but thought it won't be that difficult and was like >ughh i don't wanna be a wagiееее But realistically this is the only way. I should already take a break from this YouTube since no one cares and it would take 2 whole years of weekly uploading to get close to 100k subs or something. No matter how good vids might be improved they're objectively still bad or the algorithm doesn't know who exactly would like it. Those who blow up usually are very good at editing and trend-jack by making something appealing to nоrmiеs, whom I don't give a fuarrrk about. Mnemonics already help me with tests, I could use them to memorize any subject 24 hours before the exam when I used to know nothing about it. >Let me tell you: you don't know soykaf about life. Off topic but: Op im not exactly like you in any way but sorta related. I lived with my mother, but she wanted me to try having a job and live with her to just pay for her way, she has a house now along with a car plus all the other things blah blah, but she believed i was autistic and i had to help her she wanted me to work a min wage job living with her forever, so i wasted 4-5 years of my life which fuarrrked my asshole most of the time i neeted cause i refused to help her but i did have 2 jobs in the end i moved. The point that im trying to make is that it does suck when someone wants to try forcing things down your throat as such. But youre in better straits to a degree. Do your parents still love you? Atleast you got that and the college thing. Why not go into social media influencing, Look into a class that would actually benefit you to actually getting your youtube carrer or get a business then use that money to tread into your carrer use logic op atleast you got into meme college I didnt im not saying to feel bad for me but atleast you got it.

>>80289 Great to know I'm not alone. >Do your parents still love you? I can understand how they think. They'd make that an excuse to use any manipulation technique to get their way. From here I realized how the Halo effect fuarrrked me a lot and I must do something about it. Nothing I get from YouTube will change their mind but I must change myself irl. It has nothing to do with pleasing them but with gaining respect from everybody. Also no formal education can properly teach that soykaf especially when they pour you things you don't know why they're here or when teachers have no real experience in what they teach lol. The irony is that I already knew being dependent will fuarrrk my life but thought independence should be a slow process while making vids which each take me like 20+h in total or something, but really doing this while I still go to college takes me so long I wouldn't have time for myself at all. I can do one thing there which is reading lots of books on the eReader. Just disappointed that this is the only way to do it. Whatever.

>>78978 When I was about to graduated, there was nothing more I wanted to do than to become a music historian, either performing research or becoming an apprentice luthier or such. This was not realistic and recognized this, and with a heavy heart I turned to computers, not because they were my burning passion, but foremost because I had an innate talent with them and could tolerate them. I knew I could be a very good programmer, so that is the way I shall provide for me and my family, and I hope to also work on important projects, hopefully medical device firmware or core internet infrastructure. I still listen to music, I still make music too, and I'm not so screwed up that I beg people to pay me for it. I share my tracks among friends, but I'm never going to pursue it as a 'career'. I always come back to what Schopenhauer says... >There are, first of all, two kinds of authors: those who write for the subject's sake, and those who write for writing's sake. While the one have had thoughts or experiences which seem to them worth communicating, the others want money; and so they write, for money. Their thinking is part of the business of writing. They may be recognized by the way in which they spin out their thoughts to the greatest possible length; then, too, by the very nature of their thoughts, which are only half-true, perverse, forced, vacillating; again, by the aversion they generally show to saying anything straight out, so that they may seem other than they are. >Writing for money and reservation of copyright are, at bottom, the ruin of literature. No one writes anything that is worth writing, unless he writes entirely for the sake of his subject. What an inestimable boon it would be, if in every branch of literature there were only a few books, but those excellent! This can never happen, as long as money is to be made by writing. It seems as though the money lay under a curse; for every author degenerates as soon as he begins to put pen to paper in any way for the sake of gain. The best works of the greatest men all come from the time when they had to write for nothing or for very little. And here, too, that Spanish proverb holds good, which declares that honor and money are not to be found in the same purse—honora y provecho no caben en un saco. You think that you should be paid to have your dream job. Why? Why haven't you succeeded already? Are you worthy to do this "work" just because you want to, or because you wanted to badly enough to actually pull your finger out your asshole and do something? While Johnny John down the street leaves the house at 6 every other day to drive cranes in the city until midnight because he's a chump who works for Big Construction, you're just sitting there... just sitting there, hoping to be paid for your thoughts, while literally millions of people want in on this. What I am getting at is you are privileged and selfish, and need to do some hard thinking about what you're going to do. If you're going to decide to be a Youtuber sure, but if you're not going to put in more effort than anyone else then you deserve to fail. You remind me of a near dozen starry-eyed idealists I've known personally throughout my life. People who just expect there to be a system to turn their Twitch streaming or dubstep music or Youtube videos or guitar playing into money; if only it were this simple! but it's not. I've had more success than anyone I know because I have been realistic. It's not nice, but for those of us who don't win the lottery, it's how you get what you want. I am still an artist, and I will probably be the only person in my old circle who'll become able to move out of these awful neighborhoods. I've not forgotten my dreams either: I will save money to try buy a house or even just land so I can set up my workshop, and I will create a beautiful harpsichord before I die. I will probably not sell it.

That's not to say OP isn't a naive little dumbass or that the world won't eat him alive once it finds the chance, but his only sin is not understanding we as a species have decided to collectively treat our individual existences as sin and social service (foregoing of control, for others) is our idea of a way to make amends for daring to be born and continue to breathe.

A couple of things I'm not agreeing with in this thread... -It is now easier than ever to make money on YouTube. The problem is, it's not the glamorous lifestyle you think it is. Everybody's doing it, so the amount of money you make will be very little unless you're an extreme outlier. Even then, people who you'd think are super famous are actually just making typical middle class wages. Just look at all their side hustles with Patreon and other third party 'premium' services. I'd say the best you can hope for is making the same if not probably less money than you would having gone to college, with the added shame/paranoia of being an attention whore online with no job security. Also, YouTube censors super hard. -You don't "have" to move out if you don't want to (I mean, unless you're forced to). All that will probably get you is a lot of time wasted doing low wage work to pay for rent and utilities so you can be too tired to pursue your passion when you get home every day. I say do whatever you want. Be a NEET, fuarrrk it. That's what I'm doing. You will regret it once the years start adding up, mind you me. Come and See the horrors that await you. I wanted to play in a rock band when I was your age but I fuarrrked up in many ways. I also was a fuarrrking retard and had to have everything my way. This was only a mere 10 years ago, but I was so far up my own ass I effectively delayed recording material because I really wanted to do it analog and make cassettes. That's how dumb I am. Now, I'm looking hard down the barrel of my 30s with very little to show for it. Judging by your posts, I doubt you're going to do anything substantial with YouTube but please, prove us wrong.

It bothers me that so many people take having a passion or hobbies for granted. I've never had those. Ever. I've been a neet for 6 years now too. And it makes me depressed that so many people would kill for my life so they could pursue what they like. And here I am wasting it because there's just nothing to pursue

>>78978 Don't mix passion with pay. View content creation as an hobby, if bling bling flies in: great. > but my hobby is testing how much you can milk the audience and advertisers with mediocre content welp, good point. You are young. You didn't even realize that your parents and everyone else is as clueless as you are. Do some NEETing and traveling, one year Vietnam, afterwards one year Australia, then a year EU [...] or watev places you wanna visit. I am assuming you are american (you mentioned this weird A to F rating system); go see the world. Why the fuarrrk are you troubling yourself with making a career already? >>79051 not disagreeing with the part, that youtube censors heavily, just wanted to add that there are tons of bot accounts posting comments. (and videos) **maybe buy some clicks to get the algo going? ;)**

OP here. I just got 2.2k views on a recent video but with some criticism from normiе-ish people who are not intended to be from my audience. There's some skepticism around whether this even works and I get it... I'll just keep uploading weekly on these remaining weeks and on vacations as much as I can. I now understand that I don't need to move out and stick to a worse time-consuming wаgie life or that I don't even need to drop out (can take gap years idk). I guess the main issue was that I talked the talk like soykaf instead of walking the walk. Yeah, a lot of people already do this, but I believe I have something to give... I have my own style and I recently read books on hypnosis and other weird things instead of just copying others (and I don't wanna have discord nоrmies who don't even quote with greentexts). I don't know, we'll see what will happen.

>>78978 >I hate it when society expects of everyone to become a laborer and depend on some soul-crushing company to make him a living. It's actually not society but mainly it's your employers that want you to do what you're told, to make you replaceable worker anyways. The key is this society is not actually rigged. You're just distracted much like I am (I am one to talk :D) so the real thing is society isn't as unforgiving as it is back in the days where "nobility" was so important and you could easily die from weird unknown disease and have to travel a lot to fetch precious water. Society is actually great, it's just that there's too much soykaf out there that makes it so complicated/complex and hard to think straight. Looking back then my struggle during school was that I didn't have internet I could've easily back then just "wardriven" my way to victory but I was not creative enough and so I failed and learned. Creative pursuit is nothing bad if you know yourself that you yourself have what it takes, but that is easily lost once a creator's confidence is shattered so I really admire people and young'uns who are oblivious but confident with their skill (in terms of art) and they really end up being better years later. I know that I failed too but I have learned certain things, like stuff to buy, who would've thought computers were actually cheap and now learned how pricing actually works I'm looking at sidelining for certain work soon but fuarrrk I really would've wished I learned those stuff earlier so I could've made extra cash then! >Has any other lain hated college? I didn't really exactly hate college, it was a breeze actually and the only problem I had was when professors started to deliberately fail students to delay them and then the only thing I didn't like was acquiring some sort of anxiety which I never had though it was shortly lived, I was also able to learn or "seek myself" amidst the boring days of college. I do like that you seem to like syllogism from your post you know your "logics and rationalism" but in reality world works in a different way which is irrationalism. I've watched that gambling anime (Kakegurui) and figured that being a leader or big enough has something to do with irrationality, like say leading people and playing the rules without breaking them is itself irrational and staking it all in a risk is irrational but it's something that left me a different impression on how things work with the upper-upperclass. >artist So tell me about your art/work? Maybe we can try to form some study circle or whatever mine's really on digital stuff and have strong preference of pixel art and digital music (I can make bgm game music), I really liked the idea of art chat/circles but never got them to work before (at best there's /hgg/ dev but never got around it).
