It's kind of funny to see that we could be suffering from FOMO even when it's not about social media or the news at all.
I and maybe some other lains read too fuarrrking much we don't do anything beside it. Virtually all I read is nonfiction and most importantly about forbidden history, psychology, health and "conspiracy theories". I have that anxiety that I just "need" to know everything but end like being procrastinated a lot since I'm already struggling with things in life. Quotes like "Who controls the past controls the future." and "...and the Truth shall make you free." makes me want to rush and virtually download more and more stuff including fuarrrking CIA documents and US patents. But then don't feel much difference, since perhaps I have already known some of it generally and I must only move.
Many normal people find it impossible to read and they'll think I'm very productive with this, but fuarrrk no. I get sometimes thoughts that I have to only take one week in a year for reading just like what the soykaffy Gates do and explore esoteric stuff.
Any lain relates to this?

i can relate. quite a lot.
and what is worse, i follow rabbit holes way too much when reading documentation for things i care about; last time i ended up with 2800 saved tabs and i had to bookmark them all and start fresh, so i ended up not even reading a 20% of what i "wanted" to by opening all those tabs. it's like a weird mix of pseudo-FOMO with curiosity, but it's that same curiosity what had shaped me as a person and one that knows about more things, a lot of them useful, than my peers, or at least that's what i've been told.
so idk, it's nice to have this much curiosity but i wish there was a way to just go through all the content and be 'done', i need that, i need to feel like i'm done with something and i know all there is to know about it

not much when you hate your life and wish you could change something about it.
it is perhaps a form of perfectionism.. everybody knows that achieving full gnosis/knowledge on the world as it is literally infinite, and whoever pretends to be is definitely a fool.
Or like those who have "hobbies" that they do just because they want to... i think it is also a way to cope with reality which is so depressing to realize. Many people really have no idea about their meaning in life and keep wasting it with things they may regret about when they get older.

Let's say you achieve all the knowledge in the world, what will you do with it? The people who have "meaningless" hobbies are happier with their lives.

I have to use it to wake people up. But I have to confess it's also "just fun".
The problem with many hobbies is that people do them while completely forgetting about their life issues until they come to their face. Yes maybe I'm contradicting myself here but I believe that giving something to the world while fixing one's own problems is what makes life more satisfying.

books are well and good but you're missing out on the world itself, which is where Truth is to be found.
