how do I get a gf?
Tequila · 2023-10-26 14:31
Or how do I know if I can even get one? Knowing is very important for me, as if I can't I can just be a wizard without having regret that I missed out on something important. If I can I can being the process of finding one.
>you are too ugly
maybe that is the case. If so that would make things simple. I like the way I look however and wouldn't physically change anything except to have muscles and get a better haircut. Besides, my mother calls me a handsome young lad all the time. But clearly this is not the case as if I were better looking random women would approach me everywhere. From what I have learned, men that are short and fat that are married are more persistent and don't really think about things.
>you are too autistic/socially retarded
A lot of the subtleties with dating and talking to people can be learned, so this isn't an issue.
>too scared to talk to women
I'm not.
People will give some advice, which doesn't apply to anyone that has read to this point.
>dating app
I don't think I have to explain why this is bad. You are selling yourself out, it is not fun and I will never do it
>join a club
Only if you are at a place where these exist. Even so, there are not as many women into programming and tech so you likely won't have as many chances at a club for these topics. Of course, if you had other hobbies you could try a group related to that.
>peers from work/school/gym
If you have that opportunity, that is a possible way to start a conversation with a girl and at the very least you would have practice talking to girls
As you can see, there are not a lot of ways to start finding someone to date. This doesn't seem like only my issue, but one of many people. I hope in this thread we can discuss reasons why this is the case and possible strategies to find partners and be happy.
Leto Atreides I · 2023-10-26 15:28
>Or how do I know if I can even get one?
From what you say, it seems like you can at least secure a middie. Hard to tell without actually getting a look at you.
>wouldn't physically change anything except to have muscles and get a better haircut.
Girls generally care about face and height, in that order. Brains and wits can help, but mostly if you're already physically attractive. Muscles matter only to the extent of not being a twig. Status is very sexy but mostly inapplicable to us here. If you're already not a twig, don't bother. Having a big skeleton (being tall) offers far more mechanical/combat advantage than working muscles, and is indicative of good development generally.
>you are too autistic
Eh, the fecundity of autistic men is like 0.2, this matters. I think you'd have the best success here not by parroting typical dating behaviors (which is the mark of an autistic person, precisely, trying and failing to imitate normalcy) but actually reducing the things that produce autism, like exceedingly high serotonin, neuro-inflammation, etc.
I'm lucky enough to be married hard to a friend-of-a-friend I met in high school. Dating apps are a complete waste of time for the average man, it's just a meat market.
t. pretty intelligent, middling-status, ex-depressive, manlet. With a handsome face and natural muscles.
Yu-ichi · 2023-10-26 18:55
Start being physically attractive or start paying women to date you. There is no other way
Meddler · 2023-10-26 20:25
I think the problem you're facing is that women are simply choosing to not associate with you. Whether at university, social gatherings or wherever else: if women like you the way you like them, they too will make excuses to talk to you, to carry the conversation on, and to meet up where there isn't a good reason to meet up otherwise.
Wait until you're 30 and they're divoced.
Pris · 2023-10-26 20:48
Here's my method
>Go to college
>Get paired up with a girl for a project
>Get friendly and start to show interest in her
>She's too dense/can't believe I'm interested/not ready and too stressed with studying to pursue it
>Take a medical leave because you burned out
>Like 2 years of misadventures pass
>re-enroll and prepare to take the exams you failed
>Contact her first time in a year or so and ask for notes
>She says she plans to move back to her hometown when she graduates this year since she doesn't have a place to stay
>YOLO
>Don't use the notes and still pass the exam
>invite her to the restaurant to celebrate
>Justify it by her notes helping so she should be a part of this
>Have a good time
>Start kinda dating in the pretence of her helping me pass more exams
>She's still oblivious even as her friends tell her it's obvious
>invite her for a sleepover with a change of clothes to prepare for an exam
>Time passes
>After graduation she moves in with me
We've been together for years and are very happy.
Turns out she finally got interested in romance like two months before I contacted her so I guess we got lucky.
Though if someone told me that we would be together when we were still studying together I wouldn't be surprised.

DO NOT DATE YOUR COWORKERS
There are lots of reasons not to but I'll just list the two most important ones:
1) You don't want to ever get me-too'd and fuarrrking your coworkers is how you get me-too'd
2) Statistically, it's not going to work out and then you're going to be stuck seeing this person at work every fuarrrking day and neither of you will be allowed to leave because you're both at work
As for what to do: I started going to church. I'm not even christian but girls go there. I tried going to bars but because I used to live with an abusive alcoholic, I really don't like being in bars. Just go and be where girls are. And don't fuarrrk your coworkers.

Yes I think you can make some great friends in these places but these kinds of people do not have social circles within social circles. It's the kind of thing where you meet people and get to know them over the years and usually there is not a lot of social movement as in more 'normal person' clubs.

The thing with advice is that people will tell you to do something that worked for them, but that is not necessarily what works for you. The advice comes from a place of wanting to help, but not necessarily can help.
For me some random guy that I met in a fast food shop told me once that I should stop feeling sorry for myself and just picture what I want to succeed in the long term then just work on that instead. That worked out quite better than all the more specific advice I heard before, because in the end it was me figuring out my way, and not me trying to replicate other people’s way.

Everybody knows why dating apps are bad, but by not using them you are still getting all the downsides (that people don't talk to each other in real life as much now) yet none of the benefits. And I just consider them an aspect of online. Everybody lives life online these days -- look at us here -- and any app can be a dating app if you put your mind to it.

You say this but I ask around among my friends and acquaintances IRL when I remember and I know no one is married nor engaged to a person they met through a dating app. I expect it happens, but from my anecdotal evidence you're more likely to get married by meeting someone on Twitter than every dating app put together.

It's an horrible idea to look for a women at the gym. The women who goes there are looking for victim points, will try anything to get you to look at their ass and then will complain to the managment or at best on the internet.
The men who simply want to lift have to find ways to self segregateswithout making it too obvious because that would be illegal.

Consider the following:
>Georges Clooney is a very attractive men.
>Would Georges have made a career in anything else, like being a commercial, he would be a random middle aged men and him approaching women would be creepy.
>We are talking about the same men, with the same body, body language and all.
I have noticed most women care a lot less than men about what is true or not. They seek social validation before anything else and will often declare something to be right or wrong solely based on the popularity of the idea. You will easily learn if the women you are talking to is one of them by giving them an unpopular idea or argument. If their counterargument is to attack your social value, then you know who you are talking to.
Georges isn't attractive because of who he is. He is attractive because it have been decided collectively that he is.

You've been consuming too much ragebait. Virtually everyone at the gym is just trying to do their exercises and leave. Those videos where some instagram or tiktok wannabe influencer pretends to be upset because some guy in the background briefly glances at them are just designed to piss people off to farm engagement.
It is creepy to hit on girls at the gym but that isn't what >>75368 is saying. They're saying their friend went to the gym, then some of the women who frequented the gym and casually interacted with him would later run into him outside the gym and say "hi i recognize you from the gym."
Molly Millions · 2023-11-08 12:36
I was with someone for a very long time and I'm getting up there in age, but my problem is that I'm rusty as fuarrrk. I also have a terrible habit of actually trying to get to know people in my newfound isolation and I think my friendly to sexual ratio is way off. Oddly enough, it doesn't seem to necessarily repel women, and in fact it is a position you want to be in, I just think it leads to a misunderstanding of one's intentions.
Now, I've been out of the game for a very long time but I'm not a dumb fuarrrk and I'm not inexperienced. If you want to be a ladies man you have to put in the gym work. Women may be open to dating guys with dad bods, true- myself regrettably included - but there are no drawbacks to cultivating one's appearance. Not only do you feel and look good, you ooze confidence and charm and you will find women approaching you.
Secondly, you got to project a sense of self-mastery. This can come in many ways: the dandy with his inexorable charms and effortless style, the artist searching for unknowable emotion and truth, the bodybuilder that makes his body his sanctuary, etc...point is, find something you actually love and do it. Develop new skills, learn new things, make self-mastery a habit, not a conversation piece.
Third, smell good. Decent colognes are worth the investment and can last you a long time. I have over 20+ colognes and regularly switch them throughout the week. Scent is one of the best introductions in my opinion, and it is also one of our strongest bridges between memory and emotions.
And lastly, don't try too hard. I wasn't even looking for a serious relationship when I met my ex. It was a chance encounter and I was fully committed to the idea of being alone and closely guarding my heart, but alas, I ultimately fell for her. Twelve years and I've come full circle. Love will blossom eventually, you just can't force it...

In my experience with TV and books and whatnot, it is typically the task of the guy to initate and try to strike up conversation. If a guy tried to do that as opposed to a girl, is that what you mean by "hitting on girls"? How does one strike up conversation without hitting on a girl or having her assume that I am hitting on her? Or does that depend on the physical features of the guy doing the supposed hitting on?

The liberal arts tend to attract people just there to get a degree, who are not prone to study and like to party. I think neuroscience is also skewed because if there are 50 neuroscience majors and 35 of them had sex, that number would be roughly accurate by %. Sample size is not listed, and the number of people in each group is not available. This is a questionable study, likely done by university students for an intro course.

I think this study is probably pretty soykafty but the advice is probably not bad. Like take some classes and involve yourself in things where there are women there. Then the tricky part is showing up nicely groomed consistently without thinking about trying to meet a woman. It gets much easier if you’re in situations with zero other men.
Don’t take a new major. Take some art, marketing, or yoga classes. They’ll probably be good for you anyhow.

Are you repulsive? If no, the answer is yes.
I have seen many ugly people with women. Just go in the street you will see them too.
Now, women aren't attracted by bodybuilders. A swimermode body, sure, you will be a magnet, but being okay is okay. Society give less importance to the beauty of men than to the beauty of women.
No matter what body you have, bad hygiene is repulsive, bad and cheap clothes or otherwise any sign that you don't respect yourself.
It's a women job to respect a man, it's a man job to give a women something to respect.
>dating app
>I don't think I have to explain why this is bad.
You are wrong and let me explain why: unless you have friends whose friends you can meet, the only way you have to meet a women is a dating app. You are correct about them.
And I want to add a thing: it is by design. They deprive you of the possibility to get a decent women so you would want to pay to get access to them.
It's basically prostitution but it's how it is. The women think they are free and they are enjoying their time while they are in fact working for paying customers. They simply are kept away from the money.
It's not your fault if it is like that so you don't have to be ashamed. Give some money to their mac and you will have the possibility to meet women just like before the age of internet.
Alternatively, you can trick the algorithm. Their scheme only work if they have women for the men to meet, so they must keep them in by presenting the top 5% of men to them. You can use the pictures of some model in a first time, a lot of women will want to talk to you, you keep it to text and word chat obviously and you never meet them. After a time, the algorithm will think that you are one of the few who must get a pass. Then you change for your actual (heavily shoped) picture.

Online dating is fuarrrked, 1% of people at the top get 50% of the likes while the lowest 50% get 4% of the likes, as per the dating app companies themselves.
Even though you give negatives to certain social settings in the OP, there are positives in all of thoses. I would say look at niche sports clubs as a good bet, because the small group settings means lots of potentially physical and close contact with woman. Book clubs tend to be everywhere, you could see about goin to one, or even starting one and then reading things like cyberpunk /lit/ there are some ones written by female authors, so you could use that as a selling point.
I would say don't really go for women at work, since that creates drama. If it happens naturally, then that is another story but possibly likewise on the drama.
As for the autism/social retarded thing, don't worry because most people are so afraid to socialize or even talk to people on the phone to order food etc. that it is an even playing field for most, and being able to talk to people is a skill.
I lived in a pretty bad town in the country once and had 0 chances of meeting a woman who was not my age but a druggie, or an older divorced woman with 5 kids, or a retarded hambeast. Thank God I moved away.

Seriously, you can see what is wrong there. This is not how human interaction work.
Lain Iwakura · 2024-01-01 14:27
the vast majority of couples meet over the internet nowadays, so you're fuarrrked unless you're willing to join an amish community. that being said, i've seen success with dating apps in spite of my plain looks and biohazard-level autism. it probably helps that i live near a college town so everyone in my area is young and (generally) pretty cool.
my advice is to work on loving and accepting yourself. don't spend tons of hours in the gym or learning to play a musical instrument just to get someone to love you, that's counter-productive. work toward becoming the best version of *yourself*, not the perfect, dateable guy that advertising and internet nonfat-soykaf drinkers tricked you into thinking that you have to be.
above all, don't ever get desperate. you don't need a gf (or bf, or whatever) to be happy (seriously, you don't), and it's not something you should feel bad about not experiencing. life isn't a checklist of experiences that you need to accomplish in order to be worthy of existing. even if other people are happier as a couple, that doesn't mean you will be.
tl;dr bee you are self :D

>Texting a girl legitimately feels like some kind of Cold War, but with emotions instead of nukes.
lol
>She didn't respond within two hours to the facebook post I sent her a link to in a text message, for the second time! This is very telling so I will now never contact her again because of this.
>She said no to me and/or has taste in restaurants I disapprove of! I will now never contact her again because of this.
Is there a flowchart for identifying this sort of person as to avoid going on dates with them?
Meddler · 2024-01-05 13:07
>>76793
The flowchart is a meme... You can always prescreen dates with a little OSINT like reverse image search or looking up the person on social media sites.
Make it simple
>Ask her what she likes to do for fun
This identifies her hobbies and motivations
>Ask her to ellaborate
If she says she likes movies, ask her where she likes to watch them, if she says she likes restaurants, ask her to tell you about her favorite type of food or restaurant
Modern people are like gold fish, you have to control their attention. People love talking about themselves.
Protip: Use questions that are Open ended and Have complex layers you can use the quality of response to get more out of the question than just what the answer is. You are also evaluating her personality by reading the subtext of her behavior. If you ask her a question like "tell me about a place you would like to visit" or "What is your dream vacation" and she says California to go to the beach, it says a lot because she can't describe what exactly is her reasoning to go to the beach (Surfing, diving, boat trips, fishing etc.) vs. Backpacking or Skiing in Austria (her hobbies or ambitions and she probably does sports).

don't listen to that retard. Be yourself is soykaf advice man. Women, despite their feminist infused wailing online, like masculine guys. Go to the gym. Looksmax your face (haircut, beard, lose weight if you're fat). Looking good matters a lot. too much these days but that's your lot in life. Go to the gym, looksmax your face, be happy because bitterness will disgust bitches.
your time running out is gay af mindset. What would someone who makes it in your position do, what would their mindset be? Take on that mindset. Do not depress yourself into inaction.
let me repeat what is necessary for you to get what you want.
1. go to the gym. (increase masculinity, confidence, you'll look better)
2. looksmax your face (self explanatory why this matters)
3. be happy not bitter. bitterness will fuarrrk you.
4. don't let yourself get depressed over time. It doesn't matter AS much as a guy. Lucky you.
5. Pretend you've gotten girls before, as you go outside in an attempt to get girls. Walk around like you have gotten girls. Talk to them like you have gotten girls. Convince yourself. You know why niggers are able to attract women (sometimes)? Partly because they don't have high enough iqs to doubt themselves. I'm fuarrrking serious. Lower that inhibition stop doubting yourself. Take something from nigger culture in that way, make it work for you.
"Men live and die by their dreams, but long after they've been abandoned, they still smolder deep in men's hearts."
You're going to abandon yours? Abandon it or not, it will still smolder within your heart.

as to how to meet people. this is my biggest challenge as well. idk. It boils down to go outside. Just gotta force yourself in peoples conversations in social settings. For real. And be happy. you'll find people who like your autism. And expect to shed some tears during this process of "becoming yourself" it's going to hurt I've broken down and cried and had much pain through this process some successes here and there and I keep going. You may be much the same. When you're crying you may consider yourself a kindred spirit with those who don't abandon their dreams and would rather be enveloped in a storm of fire. And then you'll know you are at least alive.
So go, no more living in the background. Good luck bitch ass nigga :3

>Im going to be in my 30s without having ever experienced what its like for someone to like me?
It's very likely at least one person in your life has been attracted to you, and you just didn't know.
>The whole focus on yourself thing just hasnt worked at all for me
It's still unfortunately necessary. Nobody wants to be around someone that's needy, dependent, and depressed.
>Even if I do find a girl she's just going to have totally different expectations and desires as a result of having much more relationship experience.
Maybe, maybe not. If anything being with someone that has more experience in relationships is a boon, because they'll probably play less stupid childish games.
>wah wah wah I can't make a woman happy
Do you read what you write? Seriously, this kind of self-hating soykaf is exactly what repels any woman over the age of 20. They'll read "I am not enough for you" in your face and will believe it.
>>76839
Good advice generally. Although it's important to have a clear vision of what you're going for. There are many ways to be masculine. Everyone has different genetics and backgrounds, meaning different strengths you want to emphasize and weaknesses you want to minimize. This goes for both looks and personality. There is a version of you you want to put forth on your first dates; not really a lie, but it is you at your best. You want to be as good as you can be for your mate, don't you? Well, show them what that looks like. This is what people mean by "focus on yourself", you need to have a clear understanding of what makes you attractive, or what could make you attractive, and you need to do it.

Not even the low-inhib ones? I read on 4chan alot that low-inhibition/high-extroversion is basically a superpower and fat broke NEET guys with those traits get a lot more hot girls than most guys except maybe CEO/drug-dealer/high-economic power level guys with those same personality traits of low-inhib/high-extro.

It's low-inhib all the way down. Low-inhib/high extroversion is like playing the game on tutorial mode with cheats enabled. It overrides every other trait, doesn't matter how fat or skinny or ugly or broke you are if you're just low-inhib and high-extrovert with women. The problem is, I don't know how to be low-inhib/high-extrovert. It's like some alien abstract concept.

Bruh. How to pick up is an entire genre. Go read some fuarrrken books, watch some vids.
Pick up culture is problematic, but it's a system that works, and can be refined and adapted.
If you're not picking up, consider that it may be one of your blind spots, or things you're hanging on to, like Chris-Chan and his Sonichu medallion, or his refusal to bathe.
Generally, my advice is, look at the kind of women you like, look at the guys they go out with, try adopting some of their style or look that you can live with. With me it was Kylie Minogue and Paula Yates, they both rooted Michael Hutchence, so I grew my hair out and got some.
One thing you can try is use one of those celebrity lookalike sites, find some celebs who you look like, similar face shapes, and check out what they do with their hair, clothes, glasses, etc.
interloper · 2024-02-03 00:28
in my experience, the best way to get a gf is to not think about it. i spent many many years fixated on love and getting the perfect gf and having the perfect relationship and all of that, and those were some miserable years. after i sort of got over it and started just living for myself is when i found the love of my life. i know it is like kicking dead whales down the beach to hear but your "person" so to speak just kinda pops out of nowhere when you least expect it. the really important things are to not lose hope and to not get bitter. there is very little less attractive than someone with no hope for their future or a dude who blames their shortcomings on women. you just have to be a decent person, and some combo of confident, funny, reliable, and useful. if you're lacking in one of those four, boost the rest.
good luck boss Present Day, Present Time! AHAHAHAHAHA!

You are a product of your environment.
At minimum south sun&sea beats sitting in northern frozen hell with depression from vit d deficiency. And then there is legal matters. England is a free range prison in comparison to the better alternatives.
I think the funniest example of that is refugees feeling sorry for the natives and going back cause they don't want to live in such a soykafhole.

i can tell the person who made that is a soykaf spilling bot that just acts contrarian without offering any information or anything related to the context of the thread. OK Dr. Timothy Leary PhD and his colleagues never traveled around the globe, the depth and scope of your insight with that factoid truism is astounding
but just for the sake of argument, lets compare
>where you are is when you are
>no matter where you go, there you are
in the context of finding a mate, yes, you're going to have to deal with personal problems, that's a surface-level analysis; but if you're born hardwired to play a certain genetic role that pertains to the 21st century, and everyone in your immediate environment is stuck in an 1800's mindset of industrialist-Calvinism, you're going to feel like an outcaste and you won't find a proper mate within that gene pool until you migrate away and find people who are wired the same way. in fact, the more you self-improve in a wrong environment, the more of an ostracized freak you will feel like.

Anyway i have nothing against moving truthfully it's just that if people think that it'll solve all their problems it fuarrrking wont, trust me. But it's not a bad thing to try, traveling in general is a good experience that everyone should try having. Maybe you can even find success with dating abroad, I guess it depends on the country you go to, and if you as a person have what it takes to integrate into that country's society, and if the people there are even willing to accept you. If you're going to try to get into a life-long relationship abroad, you're going to have to live in the country you find your girl in. You're not gonna be able to bring her back home realistically, once you do things will inevitably fall apart. I have been living around various places to be vague, and it definitely hasn't helped me, mostly due to flaws I have, however I will say that it is due to extenuating circumstances outside of my control which are bearing down upon me that my flaws are being brought out, a lot of these problems have been born out of having to move to another country. It can be very difficult living in another country, so plan well, I wasn't able to plan as I had to move out of necessity.
Frank Garza · 2024-02-12 21:44
>>77622
sure ok but image is overstating it
moving doesn't solve problems it walks away from them.
This can be good if its an environmental problem but a lot of people have problems that are personal, and if you move the problem comes with you.
Agent Jones · 2024-02-13 09:59
My pessimistic view is that you kinda don't. I don't think most "normals" try that much to get one. It just happens. Like, yeah they ask each other out and what not. And they get nervous. But what they do feels natural and is "programmed in".
Now, while it might seem easy, I think it's also true most people get intro relationships because of delusions. Think of how many girls dream up stories about their boyfriends loving them, while they see them as holes. And how many guys dream about that perfect girl who will love them no matter what, even though she stays with them because of the money. Kinda explains why people stay with each other while their partner practices tekken combos irl on them.
Not that you shouldn't try to get one. You sometimes hit off with someone and have something special. I managed to get a girlfriend for like 2ish years after being a neet. So it's entirely possible. And even though we broke up, I still love her and want to help her with any issues she might have. She made me happy, but I also got burned out. Relationships are really tiring. And while you might make up stories in your head about how different you are from rest of population by being a weird neet, at the end of the day it's nothing special. It's just more work you have to do in your life.
Maybe you will find someone with whom you will have it smooth, but in my experience there's always some kind of drama around the corner. And it can be about the tinniest bullshit ever. You don't see people's faults at the beginning, which makes them attractive. I feel that if we actually could see people for who they are, we would consider love as something that's rare and precious in life.

this is pretty good advice, i've found that my best shots with women were when i wasn't too concerned about it. the more you care, the more desperate you become and the less likely you are to succeed
