Whats even the point anymore? I'm 19 yr old in genZ <insert crap here> life just kind of seems meaningless at this point not in a suicidal way or anything I just have no clue what to do you go through the default route -school -university -job -etc >you don't make enough money and most of your extra cash ends up taken by the government making you more screwed long run and wasted your time you go the bare minimum route >not enough money to live off so you likely end up homeless and/or in a dead end job with no goals aka square one >plus no one likes you because you didn't burn any time to get a reputation you go the trans route >same as previous one except now you have a higher chance of getting hate crimed and there's a 50/50 chance your junk doesn't work you go the "sigma" inform "based" route >you end up depressed an unable to achieve your goals the matter how much you pretend you aren't suffering >plus the entire ideology is based on getting joy from suffering (something the majority lack) >you aren't even allowed short joys since thats le instant gratification and kills your t or some soykaf you go religious route >loose respect of everyone who isn't religious and are seen as stupid for some reason every other route is something similar you end up at square one with no real purpose every "alternative" route usually consists of torturing yourself and pretending you're happy because you call yourself "based"

>>73878 Clearly you need to make yourself a Ted shack in the forest. As far as I can tell, it's quite difficult and fairly expensive to plant enough crops and have enough chickens etc, but once you do, you soon end up with more food you can eat. Btw, it's lose and not "loose".

>I just have no clue what to do Found your problem. Find a viable hobby that will bring you money and atleast some enjoyment.
Nanashi No Gombe · 2023-08-19 10:19
>>73878 lainon, you are 19 years old. you are overwhelmed by the variety of options you have, and are trying to blackpill yourself into saying none of them can bring you joy so you don't have to choose. there is much negativity in your outlooks. everything comes to a bad ending in your perspective, probably so you think you can trick yourself into not taking an accountability for your choice. guess what? if you don't choose anything, you end up broke and dead anyway. i understand you do not know what you want to do - but that means now your purpose is to find something you want to do. experiment as much as you can, in whatever way presents itself to you. art, writing, sports, tech. eventually, you will find something. and from there, make it either a hobby you do outside of work for fulfilment, or learn to make a career out of it so even if you are broke, you will enjoy it. furthermore, try and connect with people and help them. in helping others you help yourself; and in helping others they will in turn help you. only you are able to decide this though, not me, lainon. you need to start asking yourself the big questions, and find the direction you and only you wish to go. i pray you eventually find peace.
Yuki Nagato · 2023-08-19 19:04
>>73878 >sigma That isn't all that bad. You don't get instant gratification, but that doesn't mean you won't get joy eventually. Suffer through workouts to be proud of your body, more self confident and get bitches, and that apparently is nice (I get none, so I don't know). Suffer through poverty and "invest" (no fuarrrking day-trading) so you eventually get satisfaction by working less, earning more and not having to deal with mais-valia (that pisses me off so much) and bosses, also possibility of leaving the system all-together. There's also a criminal route. It might be a regional thing, but here if you fuarrrk up instead of going to jail you will probably get yourself killed, so worst case scenario you die young, which isn't that bad, life is soykaf anyways.

How about instead of going any particular "route" that others suggest you go and do what you like to do? For past 19 years you always did what your parents, teachers, authority figures told you to do... but nobody asked what you want to do. Who are you OP? What brings you joy in life? What do you want to do for the rest of your life? Maybe those are some heavy questions for a 19 year old, I remember I had no clue what I wanted to do when I was 19. Just live life a bit, see what it has to offer and then decide what you like the best. When I was your age I did drugs, hacked computers around the world, lockpicked, lied, stole, fought, blackmailed, fuarrrked around and found out. Now I want a calmer life and more relaxed life. Now I go to therapy, now I want to give my technical knowledge to the world in some way.

>>73878 >Whats even the point anymore? >I'm 19 yr old in genZ I am 33 yr old and I still don't know. My best guest is there isn't any and you should come up with some for yourself. >you go the "sigma" inform "based" route What does this even mean? >>73900 >How about instead of going any particular "route" that others suggest you go and do what you like to do? If you don't follow any route, it is easy to end up going nowhere and just being driven by others and your own impulses. I would most definitely recommend having plan and goal. Perhaps some people are self-driven enough to not need one, but I would argue most aren't. (Yes, I am projecting.)
Hacker · 2023-08-20 02:47
>>73900 I'm not OP but i'm also 19. The big issue is that you are expected to do either work or go to college. I would love to do what you did, but if i fuarrrk around without a job or without going college: >parents get depressed because of high expectations >i don't have revenue to fund my needs and wants >still live under parents roof >if i eventually need a job, i have to explain the gap when i "did nothing" I feel stuck because i either don't know what college or what job to get. I also don't want to end up like OP says and ultra dependent on society.
H.R. Giger · 2023-08-20 13:47
>>73914 > I would most definitely recommend having plan and goal. Oh for certain, just jot what is suggested for you to do, like OP said the sigma route or whatever.... >>73915 You're encroaching into adulthood, that means making your own choices and not expecting to satisfy your parents all the time. You will realize they are just humans just like you, and even though they push you towards some ideas of what is best for you they don't know.
Yu-ichi · 2023-08-20 15:25
>>73940 >Oh for certain, just jot what is suggested for you to do, I mean, it's not hard to be original with what you want to do with your life, even if you've been a push over all your life... at least that's my case. Also 19 btw. >You will realize they are just humans just like you, I thought people experienced the "death" of their parents earlier... I guess having useless baboons as parents helps with that :v

>>73944 >I thought people experienced the "death" of their parents earlier... I guess having useless baboons as parents helps with that :v I had to physically fight my father to have the autonomy and privacy of my room, my salary privacy and not being told what to do.... when I was 24.... because he is a military narcissist that suffered PTSD and everyone trembled when he gave orders, in or outside the house. Power and control, all about it. They weren't useless buffoons, but they were buffoons.

>>73915 Around 19-24, if you interview, you can still play the card of being a young fool who needs a hand. Write up that you spend your lost time instructing yourself on the internet about random stuff, that you prefer to learn on your own terms, that you were sort of lost and searching but now you're ready to get to work and do a great job from now on. It's how you explain the gap, older folks will want to help a young man like that out. Play this card while you still can because it won't fly if you're 30yo. If there's any programs for soykafty youth in your country you can try joining up with them, get into dem programs nigga, you'll shine like a star next to these deadbeats but that's a sure way to end up working the first job that presents itself. Do not choose a job that you're not interested in! Do not, it'll grind your soul to dust within 5 years.

>>73940 >You're encroaching into adulthood, that means making... I think i already realized that. It's just that I wish they had more trust in my autonomy. I passed my whole teens with them trying to get me friends because they thought I felt lonely. Now my sister wants me to go out more. I always have to do drastic stuff to avoid this, for example straight up ignoring their requests to go out together. My mother cried to have a hug from me last year. My father became so delusional he asked me to go in places like a fuarrrking fun park for children. Well i guess he is starting to feel the remorse for destroying my family with a bitch and not seeing me grow up. >>73947 Thanks for the advice, yes there are programs but they all suck ass and i will surely get into something i don't like. It's basically: >We found this job (moving fridges), either you take it or you GTFO >Do not choose a job that you're not interested in! Do not, it'll grind your soul to dust within 5 years. I am basically lurking indeed every day (i have countless other stuff i want to do but i have all on a halt) and every job i find is depressing soykaf. >waiter >warehouse >call center A lot of trade electrical stuff but i did IT in HS so i don't know soykaf. Also all IT stuff requires years of exp or stuff i don't know about. Does not help that we have the lowest wages in EU

I know we are on Lainchan but everything you just mentioned (sigma, trannies, nihilism) indicates to me that you are living chronically online like the rest of us. Life is living your path and finding what you enjoy. Sure you can find it somewhere, live for yourself and those you care about, even if you haven't found them just yet. But you have to get out there, force yourself into some hobbies you like. It also isn't strictly a psychological problem, everything mentioned here is a 'format' in which you'd follow to live your life. You do need a certain amount of physical strain/exercise to provide the right amount of strength and chemical release to get rid of that stress. Every human on earth has dealt with this.

>>73878 I'm a few years older than you but also Gen Z. I've found the best way to get anything out of life is to find ways to exploit the system (society and law) to your advantage to get as much as you legally can get out of it, though piracy is an exception. It requires quite a lot of observing how the system works but once you understand it you can start to extract useful resources from it. For example if you're officially diagnosed with something like Autism, several states offer programs to help you get a job and you might be able to apply for some benefits. If you happen to be like me and live in one of those states and have Autism that's so mild you seem neurotypical, you're set. Another thing to help is find passion(s) and spend time with it. Just make sure to socialize with people, IRL or through chat rooms on things like IRC to not fully lose touch with reality. However though most cases you'll still have to get a job, but if you can either find a cheap place to live and or get a good enough paying job you should be fine. If you do need higher education, take community college and transfer to university, get federal student aid, apply for scholarships, and whatever else you can do to save money to avoid student debt. Some other tips I have: >Avoid the hellscapes of social media like Twitter (Musk can fuarrrk off I'm not calling it X), Facebook, Reddit, et al, without all the pointless drama you'll be in a better mood. >Save money to spend on your passion(s) from doing things like buying generic branded food items. >Pirate all of your media (movies, anime, videogames, music, etc) to avoid having to give the system money (see above tip) and to keep local copies of what you like.

>>73878 >you go the trans route Wait, what's the trans route? How's that going to help anything you wrote beforehand? > you go religious route Read Kierkegaard's fear and trembling or Nietzsche if you're lazier. And avoid the popular religion discourse as much as you can, it's infested, retarded and misguided > you go the "sigma" inform "based" route Ambitions and expectations do lead to some suffering. I don't think there's any denying that. Maybe if you go the conformist route and just keep close to higher ups at uni, you might get something done without much friction the non-conformist life would certainly subject you to (applying for grants is easier and you'll be surrounded by people who share at least a minor similarity to you). I might not understand what you mean by the "sigma" or "based" though. I thought it means like pursuing knowledge because of "based" > you go the bare minimum route Bare minimum could be different for other people. You could learn a bit of wordpress (which is really easy), some business and spend your life scamming people and working 6 hours a week doing database migrations or making someone's scam look a bit more colorful. Then you've got quite a lot of time per week to pursue whatever else you're interested in

Your options arent even things most would understand as life options, I dont even know what you mean by half of them. Most of them besides the "bare minimum route" dont even encompass someones life at all and are just a part of it. Someone who is trans or religious still has to grapple with what to do with their lives. Why are these your options of what to do with your life, they arent even things to do with your life or "routes" they are just a collection of personality traits and identities and modes of ethics. What im maybe getting is these are all things you have considered defining yourself by and decided they didnt define you. Though because you have intertwined these things with somehow determining your whole life it sort of seems like you actually see all these things in yourself but because they dont totally encompass you, youve thrown them out totally. Not that you are trans, or religious, or lazy, or some kind of stoic: but (purely for example) you maybe dont see yourself totally fulfilling the gender role you are assigned, you are drawn to searching for meaning in the unknown, you think you maybe cant cut it in society, and there is something admirable to you in seeking something beyond instant pleasure. However none of these amount to some like totally defined on those things npc like video game character you could be. This isnt like some "I have you figured out" post or even that im exactly right I just dont see why you would bring up these things as your options in life and im trying to understand. As others have said you are just 19, and although we often figure things out in "ah ha!" moments there is often years of thought going on everyday in the background and aggravating nights and hard times and good times that lead us to big grand conclusions about what we want to do with our lives. Its a constant process where people may spend 10 years from the outside appearing to be doing exactly what was made for them and be the envy of everyone around for that time, only to decide this isnt actually what they want. It looks like from our perspective that everyone else has it all figured out often, especially because its often encouraged to present that way. Maybe the reason ,say, you used the "trans route" as an example is because you have a friend who is trans who will tell you in doing so they have found themselves. But if you talked a little more deeply they would likely be able to point to you the countless things they dont know about themselves, things they want to change, things they are confused about or not content with. When you figure out some aspect of yourself and who you are, new things crop up and those just became your focus and you are asking (at least the core of) your question again. We all just follow threads not really knowing if they are for us, for as long as we are able. Sometimes we find a thread we can follow our whole life, sometimes its 20 years sometimes its just 6 months. If I had to give you some advice, it would be to ground yourself in more basic things than these incredibly abstract routes. Sort of like the examples I gave earlier. Instead of thinking about some sigma based route think about exactly what you are saying. You see benefit in denying instant gratification sometimes, but you dont think denying yourself all pleasures is the key to the life you want. When should instant gratification be denied and when should it be indulged in. It will be your way, and you dont need to give it some name or describe it just live by it. Other people will describe you and the way you do things for you in ways that are not what you expect always and in ways that are beyond your control, you dont need to do it yourself and try to fit some mold. The mold will be shaped to you from the outside and then maybe after that you can weigh the opinion of your fellow humans and decide if thats how you want to be seen (if thats important to you which it sounds like it might be). Somewhat related, my final piece of advice to you would be to give anything you are interested in at least 3 months instead of just putting labels on it and dismissing it instantly. If religion appeals to you instead of worrying about how it will define you (which its your own definition of religious people you are worrying about) you should try out studying it and visiting whatever church of your choice for awhile and then check back in with yourself. Most things you will probably decide arent for you, but you cant know if anythings for you without giving it time. Hope this is helpful, dont worry so much but worry just enough to keep pursuing things. And dont create imaginary lives and people in your head, there is plenty of real ones to go around.

>>73878 SCHEMER ROUTE >you wind up obsessing over loopholes in the law, tech and culture >you address every one of your whims and needs individually >you aren't able to stop scheming. you call the pigs whenever the former owner of your squat is detected outside. You are credit card promo churning and drop-shipping the most of the items you buy with the card direct to consumer so you get cash. You are abusing promos for sports betting and digital casinos. You are saving up a bankroll and practicing blackjack card counting in a distracting atmosphere. Casinos discount their food to keep gamblers. It turns out you can still scam/extort pedophiles for a nice annuity, but you need to know privacy in and out both for hunting and safety sake. >once you have a lot of money, you have even more schemes that demand that money >you will never be truly rich or truly in love because you love scheming too much

>>73878 Personally, never heard to the other alt routes you mention other than "bare minimum route". To me it doesn't seem that complicated. the rough part is college/university. Where you gotta figure out what you want to do and specialize in soykaf. After that, your free to do whatever. Get a job that fits your style. I still do somewhat the bare minimum. do a lil bit more than the minimum if i feel like it and makes me happy. bare minimum doesn't need to imply bad salary or poor reputation. Some (weird) people don't like it when you do more than the minimum. Human beings just wanna live and most decent beings want you to live, too. and want you to stick around. >>73992 Nice tips, lainon. Especially the piracy part. I used to pirate the hell out of everything during high school/college years. Saved me alot of money. Nowadays I can afford to pay those pirated services, and I still do if I don't want to support the entity behind it or just wanna check it out. cute screenshot btw.
